Bradlee Dean: Minnesota Nazi and would-be assassin

Rep. Michele Bachmann and Evangelist Bradlee Dean

Bradlee Dean (a drummer in a band called Junkyard Prophets who has a tattoo of Abraham sacrificing Isaac on his forearm), has led the chant not only to jail all homosexuals in the USA, but to “exterminate” them.  Dean has repeatedly called Adolf Hitler a homosexual (he was not), and he argues that no homosexuals were executed by the Nazis ignoring all history which he styles “a lie”–for the homosexual community was everywhere: among Jews, Christians, Muslims, and those without a declared religion (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/Homosexuals_and_the_Third_Reich.html and http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/bachmann%E2%80%99s-favorite-ministry-joins-fischer-link-gays-holocaust).

What terrified Dean was that homosexuals could already marry in some of the states in the USA (especially in New England and New York) and this “contagion” would spread to other states as its neighbor state Iowa had legalized same-sex marriages, and could  include Minnesota.  It was dread made more real when Dean learned that Michele Bachmann’s stepsister lives as an open and self-actualized lesbian and openly fights for LGBT rights and the basic human right to marry, despite that the Congresswoman worked hard to defeat the basic civil right enjoyed by heterosexuals in Minnesota.   To Dean there is but one solution to same-sex marriage: kill everyone and anyone who enters into a same-sex marriage (http://atlanticfreepress.com/news/1/13614-the-solution-to-gay-marriage-kill-them-.html).  For decades Paul Cameron has advocated killing homosexuals, recommending the extermination option as early as 1983 (read: http://www.ralliance.org/Cameron.html; the journals on psychology that he has brought into press have been cited as not worth the paper that they are written on and that the sources that Cameron sites are invalid at best: http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/html/facts_cameron_journals.html). In 1985, a federal judge concluded that Cameron had engaged in “fraud” and “misrepresentation” when he testified in a gay-related case in Texas. (Baker v. Wade, 106 Federal Rules Decisions 526 [N.D. Texas, 1985]) Judge Buchmeyer of the U.S. District Court of Dallas referred to “Cameron’s sworn statement that ‘homosexuals abuse children at a proportionately greater incident than do heterosexuals,'” and concluded that “Dr. Paul Cameron…has himself made misrepresentations to this Court” and that “There has been no fraud  or misrepresentations except by Dr. Cameron” (cf. the refutation by noted psychologists who are at a loss as to why anyone still cites Cameron at http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/html/facts_cameron.html).  Dean has nothing but generous comments to make to this “psychologist” whose own state of Nebraska’s Psychological Association adopted a formal resolution disassociating itself from Cameron’s work (read the October 3, 1994, New Republic).  Dean does not like the word “murder” as it is too strong, he declared, but prefers the more euphonious term of “war” against the “enemies of [his] God”–a war that Bachmann will unleash within the USA and then around the world.  Bachmann has become apocalyptic for Dean, and she will bring about Armageddon (cp. http://www.thedailymaverick.co.za/article/2011-06-25-beyond-populism-michele-bachmann-and-the-politics-of-armageddon).

A strong supporter of Michele Bachmann both as a State Representative to the US Congress and in her bid to be President of the USA, Dean has not minced words about what he would expect with a Bachmann presidency: a declaration of war against homosexuals and enemies of his brand of evangelical fundamentalism (see: http://www.bradleedean.com/who).  Bachmann and her husband delight in the attention Dean showers on them, and because of Dean’s rabid interest in ending homosexuality, the Minnesota Republican Congresswoman has not only endorsed Dean numerous times, but helped raise funds for his organization You Can Run But You Can’t Hide International (YCRBYCHI).  The YCRBYCHI is a notorious group that has as its sole purpose the expunction of homosexuality by any and all means, as it happens in Iran (b.Iran_english-german NOTE: This is a series of graphic photographs taken in Iran of the stoning of women and hanging of gay men as the Muslim response to homosexuality that Dean and Bachmann advocate; it is a PowerPoint presentation, most of the youths executed are under age 18), from the USA.  Dean told his radio audience that Muslim countries that call for the execution of gays and lesbians are “more moral than even the American Christians (http://minnesotaindependent.com/58393/gop-linked-punk-rock-ministry-says-executing-gays-is-moral)”.

Mass execution of homosexuals in Iran 2011

While Dean and Bachmann condemn Islam and Muslims in the USA, Dean changed his script from pure vitriol to semicharity in 2010, when he commended radical Muslims in Iran.  He told an appreciative Minnesota audience composed of GOP and evangelical fundamentalist that “Muslims are calling for the executions of homosexuals in America,” on his radio show, The Sons of Liberty . “It shows you they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible of the Judeo-Christian God, but they seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do, because these people are livid about enforcing their laws. They know homosexuality is an abomination”  (http://minnesotaindependent.com/58393/gop-linked-punk-rock-ministry-says-executing-gays-is-moral). Neither Iran nor Dean is unique, any more than Uganda or Nigeria hate groups, for the most notorious recognized and labeled hate-group in the USA, The Family Research Council is a sponsor of murder (http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2005/spring/a-mighty-army#8).  The FRC walked the halls of Congress fighting a resolution that denounced Uganda’s proposal to legally lynch gays. Two lobbyists were paid $25,000 to lobby the Senate and the House. Apparently their work wasn’t successful in the Senate because that body passed its resolution on April 13, 2010.

Dean knows neither his Bible nor his Koran.  Nowhere in the Bible (Jewish or Christian) does the word “homosexual” appear.  Neither “homosexual” nor “lesbian” appear in the Koran (Qur’an)–both are modern words.  There is no foundation for any religious objection to same-sex love; the prohibition in both the Bible and the Koran. Both in the Bible and the Koran was is considered objectionable is “effeminate men” and “masculine women”.  As for the other books (apocrypha, Hadith, etc) there is debate over whether or not they are authentic–as there is debate over whether or not the Bible and the Koran are authentic since both appear long after their alleged authors lived and spoke.

The story of Lot (Lut in Arabic) appears in Genesis 19:19f and  Qur’an 7:80-81 and in both cases the story is general–until you get to the sexual part where Lot commits incest with his two daughters.  Dean does not read Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, Latin or any other language and cannot define nor interpret the Bible that has been transmogrified by numerous bad translations, nor can he interpret the Koran which also has gone through numerous revisions depending upon who was in power.

There are numerous contradictions in the Bible as there are in the Koran.  Genesis 19 suggests that the sin of Sodom was sex (actually being incest), while Ezekiel 16:49 states that the sin was pride and lack of hospitality.  In the Koran we find an objection to “lewdness” between two men (not sex) in Koran 4:16, but read of lust in Koran 27:55, while both are contradicted by numerous other Koranic passages: Koran 52:24 promises handsome boys to those who die for Allah, and Koran 56:17 and 76:19 promises that boys will have “perpetual freshness”.

Dean prayerfully preys for the end of homosexuality–which is neither required, desired, nor asked for anywhere in the Bible or the Koran.  He has interrupted the Minnesota legislature and numerous groups, forced captive audiences made up of school children to listen to his self-loathing arguments that have brought females to tears and fear to males, and stalks listeners on his hate radio station as he condemns what he most likely is–for he protests too much.  Dean uses prayer as a whip to flagellate his audiences in an attempt to whip them into a frenzy in keeping with the SA and SS of Hitler’s Germany, regardless if they are ten and in a public school, or forty and in the state legislature.

Rep. Terry Morrow

State Rep. Terry Morrow, DFL-St. Peter was among the first to cry out against the travesty and injustice of Dean’s prayer in the Minnesota legislature.  While numerous colleagues equally condemned the self-ordained and theologically untrained drummer in the Junkyard Prophet band that puts out what it styles as rap and Heavy Metal music who has made himself a modern-day prophet preaching the end of civilization if marginalized groups are tolerated, the weak and easily intimidated Speaker Kurt Zeller, about one hour after Morrow’s spirited retort reverberated around the chamber, initially apologized for inviting Dean to give the invocation, but his faux apology was removed almost instantly from the internet when Dean and Michele and Marcus Bachmann threatened to stall his reelection efforts.  Zeller has not only been to Dean’s home, but given him a

Speaker Kurt Zellers

contribution “to his ministry” of $250, and numbers Dean among his friends.  Although Rep. Ernie Leidiger, R-Mayer, invited Dean to give the prayer on May 20, 2011, Zeller took the ultimate responsibility for the offense that many House members took to the rambling speech that concluded with a slam against President Obama, whom Dean claimed was not a Christian.  The “Reverend” Dean’s final words in his prayer were: “I know this is a non-denominational prayer in this Chamber and it’s not about the Baptists and it’s not about the Catholics alone or the Lutherans or the Wesleyans. Or the Presbyterians, the evangelicals or any other denomination but rather the head of the denomination and his name is Jesus. As every President up until 2008 has acknowledged. And we pray it. In Jesus’ name” (the video is at http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2011/05/bradlee_dean_opening_prayer.php cp. http://www.minnpost.com/stories/2011/05/20/28497/legislative_firestorm_erupts_over_bradlee_deans_prayer).

Rep. Karen Clark reacted strongly: “The decision by GOP leadership to allow his intolerance, fear and outright bigotry into the ‘people’s house’ is reprehensible. Minnesotans are a peaceful, loving and caring people. It’s this spirit of togetherness and shared hope that the House of Representatives should strive to embody. The Republican leadership should be ashamed of themselves. It reveals the underlying hateful nature of the anti-gay constitutional amendment movement.”

The condemnation of Dean has not dissuaded Michele Bachmann.  The woman who would be President of the USA has nothing but praise for Bradlee Dean: “This ministry, ‘You Can Run But You Cannot Hide,’ they are not sidetracked, they’re on course,” Bachmann intones. “They’re way on course. Because they get it. They get what this is all about.”  She then goes on to talk about a “fire of the gospel” sweeping Minnesota and turning it into a “sweet-smelling incense of praise and sacrifice” as if it were the fat from a slaughtered animal laying on the Temple’s great altar in ancient Jerusalem, its aroma rising to the nose of god(http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2011/05/michele_bachmann_prays_for_bradley_deans_homophobic_ministry.php).

Not content to condemning homosexuals for “sins against the Bible [sic]” but also blaming homosexuals for causing the Holocaust (http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2011/02/anti-gay-holocaust-revisionist-bradlee.html and http://www.anti-semitism.net/holocaust-revisionism/anti-gay-holocaust-revisionist-bradlee-dean-chats-with-bryan-fischer.php and see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEJI3_8n0bk).  Dean has lamented that those who refute his claims of prophecy are “deluded in the Lord” and will be punished; furthermore, he argues that he is “persecuted for righteousness’ sake” by “the wicked.”  With Harry Jackson, another patriarch of pulsating hate Dean has declared that gay marriage is part of “a Satanic plot to destroy our seed” (http://www.rightwingwatch.org/category/individuals/bradlee-dean) and reiterated that the best thing to do is “kill them all”.  Representative Michele Bachmann rejoiced over the stand of Dean, seeing him as a true spokesman for the Lord her God and even prayed to thank God for You Can Run But You Can Not Hide:  “for how You are going to expand this radio program, how You are going to expand their video program, their publications, how You are going to advance them from 260 schools a year, Lord, to 2,600 schools a year” (see video at http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/bachmann-supported-group-claims-rep-ellison-using-gays-impose-sharia-us), while claiming that Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) was using gays to “impose Sharia [Islamic law] on the USA”.

Dean has told various groups that if he met a homosexual on the street, the homosexual would be dead in ten seconds as that is the will of Dean’s god.  During the past few months, You Can Run has attended two Republican Party of Minnesota events and garnered the support of top Republican officials: The group participated in Bachmann’s campaign kickoff and fundraiser with Sarah Palin on April 7, where it set up a booth. YCR also had a booth at the Republican Party of Minnesota State Convention in late April – using space donated by the party, Dean says – where it greeted the party’s endorsed candidate for governor, Rep. Tom Emmer. Emmer attended the You Can Run fundraiser in late 2009 (http://minnesotaindependent.com/49965/gubernatorial-candidate-emmer-attends-controversial-ministry-fundraiser).  Dean says Minnesota GOP chair Tony Sutton invited the ministry to attend.  YCR posted a picture of two of its members with Emmer at the GOP convention on the group’s Facebook page following the event.

Tom Emmer with YCR's Jake McMillan (r) at GOP Convention

The day after the GOP convention, Dean and radio co-host Jake McMillian spoke on-air about attending the GOP event with Republican celebrities and their relationship with Emmer, stating that party chair Tony Sutton wanted them at the convention to attract a younger demographic to the GOP party.  McMillan said: “We were at the GOP, the GOP saw what we do and they identified with it.  Even when I was sitting down with Tony Sutton and just going over what we do as a ministry, I said to him, ‘Do you know any other groups that are reaching the demographic we are reaching with the message that we are?’ And, of course, it was blink-blink, ‘No, I don’t, so I want you guys a part of this convention with us.  And, then they invited and they gave us a free table. Amen.”

Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann headlined Dean’s “Appeal to Heaven” fundraiser, which as an USA Representative was unethical and possibly illegal  (http://minnesotaindependent.com/46665/christian-ministry-running-afoul-constitution), but gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer was quick to join in to bring God’s message into public schools.  Once more they reiterated the same message that claims President Obama, liberals, and homosexuals are criminals (http://minnesotaindependent.com/47565/bachmanns-punk-rock-benefactor-says-obama-unpatriotic-to-the-max), and that the separation of state and church is a myth fantasized by the Devil.  Emmer was more than eager to raise money for the Dean ministry.  Emmer refused to comment on Dean and the gala as it “was not a campaign event” but the YCRBYCHI was composed of “really nice people” as he took more campaign cash from Target and shared some of it with Dean (http://minnesotaindependent.com/59386/emmer-on-anti-gay-hard-rock-ministry-these-are-nice-people and http://minnesotaindependent.com/49965/gubernatorial-candidate-emmer-attends-controversial-ministry-fundraiser).  What few note is that Dean’s ministry is a 501(c)3 and by federal law and IRS code cannot support or oppose a candidate, nor even indicate support for candidates.  But YCRBYCHI does that and the IRS has done nothing, even though Dean openly admits he is recruiting for Jesus and for Republican candidates (http://minnesotaindependent.com/45902/michele-bachmann-to-fundraise-for-controversial-ministry and http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2010/06/local_fatwa_envy.php for Bachmann’s worship of Dean; see also: http://www.americanindependent.com/133227/bradlee-dean-talks-tom-emmer-rachel-maddow-and-target and compare it with the USA evangelical crusade to kill all gays in Uganda at http://lezgetreal.com/2011/06/the-uganda-kill-the-gays-experiment-operation-minnesota/).
