Glenn Beck (born 1964)
Catholic) in the Mormon Church, has come out against Billionaire media mogul George Soros as wanting to destroy the USA and democracy. While Beck, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Bob Vander Plaats, and other far-right Tea Baggers claim that until the wealthy are given generous tax credits and cuts, they lie. The truth is opposite of their henchmanship, for on August 4, 2010, 40 USA billionaires pledged, with Bill Gates (Microsoft) and investor Warren Buffet to donate no less than 50% of their fortunes (see: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/40-billionaires-pledge-to-apf-1903283681.html?x=0&.v=4 cp. http://www.givingpledge.org) to help restore the shrinking middle class that had been targeted by George W. Bush and foreign interests. It was the foreign interests by such individuals as Robert Murdoch, who funded the GOP and the Tea Baggers in the November 2 election.
Beck, like Ailes (Murdoch loyalists), denounced Soros as being “foreign-born” and “a billionaire” who “controls the media” in the USA and “stole property from the Jews” as a young teenager (See: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-11-10/glenn-becks-anti-semitic-attack-on-george-soros/2/ Soros is Jewish) and supports the legalization of marijuana (see: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303467004575574450703567656.html), while suggesting he was soft on communism and against the progress and prosperity of the USA. Beck, a stranger to truth forgets these points about Soros: Soros is Chairman of the Soros Fund Management that invests in the USA and the Open Society Institute. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations. He played a significant role in the peaceful transition from communism to capitalism in Hungary (1984–89; see: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1993/07/finance-the-unifying-theme/5148/) and provided Europe’s largest-ever higher education endowment to Central European University in Budapest (see: http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-79165556.html).
George Soros in 2010
Jon Stewart did a parody on this, illustrating the duplicity and redundancy of Glenn Beck and FOX News’ obsession with George Soros. The skit resulted from a LA Times article (19 November 2010; cp. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/17/george-soros-obama_n_785022.html) on the meeting of wealthy Democrats. The part most readers missed included this reporting, quoting George Soros: “I admire the president for his attempt to rise above partisan party politics…His policies have made the recession he inherited shorter and shallower than it would otherwise have been. But after two years of complete noncooperation and vicious distortion, the time for compromise has ended…Extending the [George W.] Bush tax cuts for the top 2% will not create jobs, but it will preclude further job-creating fiscal measures, including support to states.”
Soros is not alone in wanting the tax cuts ended. More than 40 of the nation’s millionaires have joined Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength to ask President Obama to discontinue the tax breaks established for them during the Bush administration, as Salon reports (see: http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/joe_conason/2010/11/18/millionaires/index.html).
“For the fiscal health of our nation and the well-being of our fellow citizens, we ask that you allow tax cuts on incomes over $1,000,000 to expire at the end of this year as scheduled,” their website (http://www.fiscalstrength.com/) states. The full text is:

“We are writing to urge you to stand firm against those who would put politics ahead of their country.

“We make this request as loyal citizens who now or in the past earned an income of $1,000,000 per year or more.
“We have done very well over the last several years. Now, during our nation’s moment of need, we are eager to do our fair share. We don’t need more tax cuts, and we understand that cutting our taxes will increase the deficit and the debt burden carried by other taxpayers. The country needs to meet its financial obligations in a just and responsible way.”
Letting tax cuts for incomes over $1,000,000 expire, is an important step in that direction.”

Beck not only ignores history but rewrites it with the same cavalier attitude

as Sarah Palin creates words that, because of her notoriety, find their way into previously sound academic dictionaries (such as the Oxford American Dictionary). But Beck’s blast on Soros’ evil is that he is a foreign-born billionaire who controls media (yes, it is true) is duplicity since Beck works for the foreign-born billionaire who controls media whose name is Keith Rupert Murdoch (he created Fox Broadcasting Company in 1986). From there the Australian-born (born in Melbourne, Australia, the son of Elisabeth Joy Greene and Sir Keith Murdoch, into a family of wealth, privilege, and indifference to the worker or middle class) foreigner went on to take control over the film industry (20th Century-Fox, for example), media television satellites (Sky Satellite, and later British Sky Broadcasting which dominates the UK pay-television industry), and the Internet.
His initial attacks on a free-press occurred when he bought the Sunday Times in Perth, Western Australia, to be followed with the takeover of the Sydney afternoon tabloid, The Daily Mirror, as well as a small Sydney-based recording company, Festival Records. The New Zealand daily The Dominion that fell into his strangle-hold in January 1964. Murdoch took over The Sun in 1969, in the UK and like his other “papers” made it into a popular tabloid–short on news and even weaker on accuracy. Murdoch was and still is a strong supporter of former Labour leader Tony Blair, and their close relationship with Blair and their secret meetings to discuss national policies was to become a political issue in Britain (See: Hinsliff, Gaby (23 July 2006). “The PM, the mogul and the secret agenda”. When Obama became president of the USA, Murdoch began hiring anti-Obama personnel and requiring that all information on Obama be reported with a negative slant. Murdoch had insisted that Obama meet with him. The arrogance of Murdoch who did not disguise that he wanted to control the “black president” was not lost on Obama, who repeatedly refused to meet with the Australian mogul. Ultimately, to the surprise and horror of many, Obama met with Murdoch, complaining of Fox News’s portrayal of him “as suspicious, foreign, fearsome – just short of a terrorist”. Roger Ailes (born 1950)
Ailes (born 1940, and media consultant for Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush; Ailes gave President George W. Bush political advice indicating that the American public would be patient as long as they were convinced that Bush was using the harshest measures possible–by doing nothing but political posturing [See: Grove, Lloyd. Roger Ailes-Bob Woodward Smackdown? The Washington Post. 19 November 2002]), said it might not have been this way if Obama had “more willingly come on the air instead of so often giving Fox the back of his hand.” A “tentative truce” was nonetheless agreed upon. Underlings at Fox News, and at Murdoch’s controlled New York Post noted that Murdoch has met every US President since, and including, Harry Truman (See: “Tuesdays with Rupert,” Vanity Fair October 2008). Three times married, Robert Murdoch holds himself up as a defender of traditional marriage (for which he received the papal honor the KSG [Knight of St. Gregory the Great, established by Pope Gregory XVI in 1831, an order that requires the recipients to be “gentlemen of proven loyalty to the Holy See who, by reason of their nobility of birth and the renown of their deeds or the degree of their munificence, are deemed worthy to be honoured by a public expression of esteem on the part of the Holy See”. The end of the brief states that they must progressively maintain, by continued meritorious deed, the reputation and trust they had already inspired, and prove themselves worthy of the honour that had been conferred on them, by unswerving fidelity to God and to the sovereign Pontiff. Keith Robert Murdoch
Murdoch’s love-affair with Labour died an agonizing death, but The Sun forced through a divorce and married the Murdoch media to the rising Conservatives. The Sun lent its support to David Cameron’s Conservative Party, when Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s official spokesman said in November 2009 that Brown and Murdoch “were in regular communication” and that “there is nothing unusual in the prime minister talking to Rupert Murdoch” (see: Mulholland, Hélène (12 November 2009). “Gordon Brown spoke to Rupert Murdoch after misspelling row”. Ailes and Murdoch convinced Rush Limbaugh to move from radio to Fox News as a “commentator”. The fact that Fox News is funding the GOP and its Republican candidates has long been common knowledge. Media Matters has done research on how much GOP candidates have received both in the form of wages and in free air time for political posturing, as these graphs show:
Fox News candidates’ appearances were worth at least $40.23 million in advertising costs. Media Matters also estimated the equivalent cost advertisers would pay for the amount of air time Fox gave to each of its potential candidates. Advertisers would have spent about $22 million for screen time given to Huckabee, who is the only candidate to host his own, regular Fox News program. Gingrich’s appearances would have been worth almost $6 million to advertisers, and Palin’s would have cost them approximately $5 million. Santorum’s advertising equivalency is about $4.19 million, while Bolton’s would have cost just under $3 million.
