Roman Catholic Church attack on Human Rights and Benedict XVI’s cover-up

Savita denied abortion

Savita denied abortion

On October 28, 2012, Savita Halappanavar, a dentist by profession, died in Ireland at University hospital in Galway.  She shouldn’t have.  While the death was listed as resulting from pregnancy—it is a lie—that was exposed quickly.  Ms. Savita Halappanavar’s death was cold-blooded, premeditated murder as the doctors knew that she would die, executed by the government of Ireland controlled by the criminal element led by the odious odoriferous opportunist, the Primate of Ireland, controlling the Roman Catholic Church. (cf. here). The longer the senile Sean cardinal Brady

stays in place as Primate of All Ireland, loathed by many for his relentless cover-up of pedophiles in the Roman Catholic Church, and his rigid stand against abortion in all cases, the greater the damage inflicted on the people of Ireland will be and the greater will be the number of needless deaths, maiming, and waste of human potential (cp. “When There’s a Heartbeat: Miscarriage Management in Catholic-Owned Hospitals.” American Journal of Public Health, vol.98, no.10 (October 2008).

Savita Halappanavar

Savita Halappanavar

Savita was a 31-year-old married woman, four months pregnant.  She went to the hospital with a miscarriage in progress that developed into a blood infection. She could easily have been saved if the already doomed fetus was aborted. Instead, her doctors did nothing, explaining that “this is a Catholic country”. Savita replied that she was a Hindu and the laws for Catholics should not apply to her.  She was 17 weeks pregnant  and no fetus could survive outside of the uterus at that age; she contracted septicaemia (the presence of pathogenic organisms in the bloodstream; it is characterized by a whole-body inflammatory state (called a systemic inflammatory response syndrome or SIRS) caused by severe infection, and is usually accompanied by high fevers, hot, flushed skin, elevated heart rate, hyperventilation, altered mental status, swelling, and low blood pressure) and

Joseph Ratzinger as Pope and NAZI youth leader

Joseph Ratzinger as Pope and NAZI youth leader

Ireland is a Catholic country quite like Spain and other nations cannibalized by a rogue religion that, throughout its terrible history, whipped women, castrated men, burned babies and worse during the days of the unholy Inquisition—a reality that still exists thanks to the twisted mentality of the German pope Josef Ratzinger.  India, where the woman was born, has already done away with such insane laws demanded by the Roman Catholic Church. The complicit dragoons in the medical field more akin to the Nazi torture-doctors in Third Reich Germany than any respectable medical association today left Halappanavar to suffer in agony for days.  These devout draconian Roman Catholics  only intervening once it was too late. The medical “team” of doctors and the pathetic priests and corrupt clergy must be held and tried for no less than manslaughter in the first degree.  That the doctors deliberately refused to help Savita could elevate the charges to premeditated murder on orders of the Irish Catholic Church following the rules of the Vatican.  Religion must never be allowed to dictate to medicine again!

Savita’s death is just the latest in a long line of tragedies directly attributable to the doctrines and beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church. It is certainly a knowledgeable truth that there are many good, progressive Catholics, but the problem is that the Roman Catholic Church nor most evangelical extremists’ churches, isn’t a democracy.  Not only are women silenced, the poor ignored as they are passed over by self-serving schizophrenics such as the Albanian nun, Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Known as Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the Albanian nun Agnes Bojaxhiu devoted her life to increasing the misery of the sick and hunger of the poor, but gave the grapes of wrath garnered from her own duplicity in money laundering money, offering no hope for progressive changes in her church no adding her voice or vote in its governance.  She protected self-acknowledged, tried and convicted pedophiles arguing that they were misguided and their ministry to the Roman Catholic youth (upon whom they preyed) and to her own group of religious nuns was an insult to her god and her community of sisters.

Like ancient trees immobilized, ossified and incapable of growth or the flowering of saplings or leaves in dead areas, as with Arizona’s Petrified Forest known for its Late Triassic fossils, the Roman Catholic Church is a petrified oligarchy, a dictatorship like the medieval monarchies it once existed alongside.

Moscow billionaire Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church enriched by illegally selling cigarettes

As ignoble and repugnant as the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, Russia, who enriched himself with more than $2 to 4 billion in sales of illegal cigarettes to Russians to buy himself a villa in Switzerland, a penthouse in St. Petersburg, a fleet of cars and a yacht among other luxuries while preaching the poverty of his Christ (read Yuri Mamchur’s article here and here and here and watch here), the Roman Catholic Church, not just in Ireland but universally, is run by a small circle of conservative, rigidly ideological old men who make all decisions and choose their own successors.  None has been more reprehensible than today’s mulligrub, menacing, Mephistophelean, unpropitious calamitous corrupt and baneful Benedict XVI who was far happier carrying books out of libraries as a Nazi youth and burning them in salute to the Nazi cause (Stratz, Hans-Wolfgang. “Die Studentische `Aktion wider den undeutschen Geist’ im Frühjar 1933,” Vierteljahrshefte für Zeitgeschichte Vol. 4, 1968, pp. 347-372).

Nazi Youth burn books from German librariesThe German book burning under the Nazis was repeated by Young Americans (Republican Youth Corp) in the USA who burned books that argued against racism, for religious tolerance and the pursuit of knowledged, especially the investigation of evolution, science, and further advance of mathematical studies.

Young Americans burn comic books in Nazi fashion

Young Americans burn comic books in Nazi fashion

Evangelical groups, primarily Southern Baptists and Adventists in Texas, in the 1960s-1970s rallied youth to burn tapes of rock-and-roll and comic books. Crucifixes, religious statues and other symbols were similarly burned in Lima, Peru, in the early 2000s.  What was not known was that many evangelical groups, and those that would become megachurches (especially in Oklahoma) would be as corrupt and filled with as many pedophiles as existed in Roman Catholic parishes: all promising victims “eternal rewards”.

On December 21, 2012, the former Nazi youth exposed his ignorance of science and psychology with another raw rant against human rights when addressing a papal audience of those caving into pontifical pressure and pretenses. Ratzinger’s Christmas address was more ignominious and detestable, setting the stage for more human carnage in the name of Christ.

Benedict’s hypocrisy rising with his appointment of the least intelligent and morally bankrupt clergy to bishoprics, archbishoprics and the cardinalate means that, whatever individual Catholics may do today or tomorrow, the resources of the repressive and irresponsible church as an institution are bent toward opposing social progress and positive change all over the world. Every dollar put into the church collection plate, every Sunday service or daily Mass attended, every hour of time and effort put into volunteering or working for church organizations, is inevitably a show of support for the institutional church and its abhorrent mission. When a person has no voice, there’s only one thing the thinking individual has left is to boycott the beast denounced by Luther and other reformers before their own institutions became animals devouring the flesh of those who opposed them, or like Jean Calvin in Geneva burning Servetus for having a doctrine contrary to his own, or marching them to Tower Hill in England to chop off, however crudely, their heads, or hang them in the wasteland of Uganda run by the former street-walker, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga blessed by Pope Benedict XVI as the twenty-first century clone of Adolf Hitler who will protect his bible and religious intolerance, now inched up the legs of male supporters to be the Speaker of Parliament.

Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is of  one of the most intolerant nations who backs its attack on marginalized people by claiming foundation found in the Bible to “protect the children”.  A literalist who is ignorant of all Biblical languages but is in the pay of Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries, uses the Old Testament to support her rant against human rights. Kadaga’s rant is the same mantra mouthed by orange juice representative in Florida Anita Bryant who has made the hate crimes of Iran and other Sharia-controlled nations seem mild.

A member of Opus Dei (as were his parents), Cipriani Thorne has done more to stifle education in Peru than any predecessor and has sided with the Fujimori dictatorship.  Cipriani Thorne congratulated Fujimori and super-spy Vladimiro Montesinos and their paid assassins known as Las Colinas on “rooting out communism” by kidnapping and slaughtering teachers and their students, decapitating and dismembering the victims bodies and burying them in isolated areas, while accepting laundered narco-trafficking illegal drug money and sanctioning death squads in quest for totalitarian rule in Peru.

The entire councils of Roman Catholic Bishops of Ireland and of the USA, have engaged in a systematic, organized effort going back decades to cover up for priests who molest children, pressuring the victims to sign confidentiality agreements and quietly assigning the predators to new parishes where they could go on molesting. Tens of thousands of children have been raped and tortured as a result of this conspiracy of silence, not just in the Roman Catholic Church but increasingly in evangelical (Pentecostal, Adventist, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc) extremist exhorted congregations, especially in the Sovereign Grace Ministries (30-year-old family of churches with more than 80 congregations), Ted Haggard Ministries, Bishop Eddie Long, etc., matching the increasing pedophile pastors practice in Nigeria and Uganda.   Although these crimes against humanity are not exclusively within the Roman Catholic Church as there are certainly as many in the evangelical community from the ministries of Ted Haggard (and his boy toys), Tony Perkins, Scott Lively and his Abiding Truth Ministries (a certified hate group) campaigning for the slaughter of ten percent of all Ugandans, the Roman Catholic hierarchy gets more publicity because of its insane and unbiblical demand for the unnatural and abnormal act of clerical celibacy—even though thirty-eight popes were married and at least seven popes admitted to supporting and even raising to the cardinalate their young male lovers to shower favor and favoritism on them.

The worse offender against the dignity of the individual is the engorged evangelist Joseph Ratzinger, the current pope, but is representative of the German clergy where 24 dioceses out of 27 were found to maintain pedophile priests, with 94 priests and church employees directly identified as active pedophiles—with Ratzinger saying nothing and was supported by the scandal-riddled Irish episcopacy and clergy with the Bishop of Limerick Donald Murray, and the Bishop of Kildare Jim Moriarty, two of the Prelates who concealed clerical abuse of children for over more than three decades being the first to resign, and then followed on Christmas Eve with the demanded resignation of two Auxiliary Bishops of Dublin, Eamonn Walsh and Raymond Field.

Father Stephen Kiesler

Father Stephen Kiesle

When he was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, this pernicious prelate was personally implicated in a case from the 1970s in which at least three sets of parents reported that a priest in his diocese had sexually abused their children. Ratzinger registered shock but did little more than assign the pedophile priest, Father Stephen Miller Kiesle, who tied up and molested two preteen boys in the rectory of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Union City, California, to therapy.

A 1985 letter, written in Latin, to the Diocese of Oakland signed by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. The letter said that a California priest accused of molesting children should not be defrocked without further study.

Ratzinger broke German law and cast out all claims without notifying law enforcement, washing his hands of the matter, with a whispered affirmation that as a cardinal, Ratzinger was merely following the blind bigotry of the invidiously iniquitous John Paul II who rejected any “aspersions” cast on priests—until they became “too public”. That priest, Father Stephen Miller Kiesle, was back on duty in just a few short days and went on to molest more children. Ratzinger was defended by then Oakland Diocese Bishop Salvatore Cordileone (who was appointed to the diocese by Ratzinger), who later became the cardinal bishop of San Francisco and is better known for his public drunkenness and lewdness than any spirituality.

By 2001, Ratzinger was officially defined by a Texas court as an accomplice in several pedophile cases. Ratzinger’s prestige and power in Houston, ultimately exempted him from the charge of complicity and he was not required to testify especially with the intercession of the insidious Condoleezza Rice who needed Vatican help to strip nations of corridors to crude to benefit her employers ExxonMobile and other oil big business.  Benedict would later snub Rice when the duplicity, the war in Iraq after snubbing John Paul II’s special envoy, Cardinal Pio Laghi, and other “troubling issues” became common knowledge (read here and here).

Ratzinger ignored a detailed letter against Kiesel, first written in 1981, and several follow-up letters, for four years. Finally, in 1985, he wrote back saying that more time was needed, and that they had to proceed very slowly to safeguard “the good of the Universal Church” in light of “the young age of the petitioner” — by which he meant not the victimized children, but the pedophile priest. It was blatantly stated that Kiesel was a good priest, and some cardinals even argued that he could not be laicized (declared not to be a priest) since he was under the age of 40.  However, by contrast, when the rogue archbishop Emmanuel Milingo of Zambia ordained married men as priests, both in New York and New Jersey, he was laicized six days later.  In 2011, Pope Benedict XVI fired an outspoken Australian bishop William Morris of the Toowoomba diocese, west of Brisbane who called on the Church to ordain women and married men, as vehemently as his pandering predecessor John Paul II.

In 2001, Cardinal Ratzinger wrote a letter, De Delictis Gravioribus, to all Catholic bishops advising them how to handle accusations of sex crimes by priests. Ratzinger rejected repeated calls to notify legal authorities but told all bishops that they were to report such cases only to the Vatican and tell no one else: “Cases of this kind are subject to the pontifical secret.” Ratzinger’s letter is precisely the smoking gun—as he recognized pedophilia and was prepared to stop the exposure of any Roman Catholic priest or prelate from public or media scrutiny in defiance of the laws of any area, state, or nation.  Like the molester of young males in the sixteenth century, Pope Julius II (like Pope Julius III and others), Ratzinger believed the Roman Catholic Church was above all civil laws and the Roman Catholic Church should rule over all nations in the same draconian fashion as the religious stranglehold of Christianity has on the government of Uganda.

John Bonny bishop of Antwerp, Belgium

The rebellion is growing in the Roman Catholic Church, to the dismay of the German pope, with Bishop Johan Bonny of Antwerp, Belgium, who was elevated to the position of being the 22nd bishop in the wake of revelation of sexual abuse by a bishop, openly announcing that he would be ready to ordain married men, believing that non-celibate clerics could contribute to the pastoral needs of the Church.

Benedict’s supporters have unique backgrounds, as is the case of the American friar Benedict Groeschel who blamed the epidemic of child molestation on sexually wanton boys (read here and here) who tempt priests into assaulting them.  Other clergy threaten to cut off funding for immigrants’ rights advocates because they sometimes work with gay-rights advocates. Preventing immigrants from getting legal and medical aid is less important than ensuring the church isn’t contaminated by even indirect contact with anyone who helps gay people.

Roman Catholic bishop endorsed fascist Spain's Franco

Roman Catholic bishop endorsed fascist Spain’s Franco

In a stellar sign of how ridiculously wretched,  disproportionate and unhinged the church’s martyrdom complex is, the current pope has compared expanding the rights of women and gay people to the murderous anticlerical violence of the 1930s Spanish civil war.  Yet it was the Roman Catholic Church that endorsed and blessed Franco and hailed Fascism in Spain.  Other supporters included the unsaintly Jesusmaria Escriva, who in April 1946, preached to Franco and his family, and from the fascist dictatorship built the basic foundation of Opus Dei (Allen, John L. (2005), Opus Dei: An Objective Look Behind the Myths and Reality of the Most Controversial Force in the Catholic Church, Garden City: Doubleday, p. 58).

Blessing of Franco by the Roman Catholic Church

Blessing of Franco by the Roman Catholic Church

Opus Dei, following the design of Franco, is a paramilitary, pro-fascist, antimodernist, integralist (reactionary) organization that does not tolerate dissent–and became a trump card for reactionary popes through the twisted times of John Paul II and Benedict XVI.  On the alleged sanctity of John Paul II, read here and here and here.

The Roman Catholic Church, like its Eastern Orthodox “brother church”, has long lied about its own role in the atrocities of the Franco regime that it helped gain power and murder countless innocent people with the blessing of Jesusmaria Escriva, who was never a saint or holy man, and his odious opportunistic Opus Dei and other totalitarian dictatorships from Hitler and Mussolini to the impoverishment of Peru and other Latin American countries, and secret donations to religious political funds in Spain, the USA (where it secretly funneled money into the campaign by the dubiously devout Rick Santorum) and Uganda. At the same time, under the direction of Ratzinger, the Vatican used its official UN observer status to team up with Islamic theocracies like Iran (where Ratzinger was represented by Msgr. Romeo Panciroli; Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Hashemi Rafsanjani, the brother of President Hashemi Rafsanjani, declared  Iran’s full endorsement of this collaboration and said there were many avenues for co-operation between religious states which were not confined to the prohibition of abortion) and Libya to oppose calls for family planning services to be made available in the world’s poorest nations with Libya claiming that any form of birth control was not only detrimental to the state but against the will of the god of Islam. Libya and the Roman Catholic Church were joined by Peru dictator Alberto Fujimori who had hundreds of mountain people in Peru forcibly sterilized with the encouragement from his daughter Keiko and son Kenye (both of whom sit in the 2012 thoroughly corrupt Peru Congress that is battered by neo-Nazi leader Martha Chavez) seeking to overthrow their father’s conviction for crimes against humanity.

Like the pandering Polish pope, John Paul II, Ratzinger has sent emissaries to desperately poor, AIDS-ravaged regions of Africa to spread the life-destroying lie that condoms do not prevent transmission of HIV. This papal absurdity was accepted and applauded by the Russian Orthodox Church that is run by a womanizing, child abusing clergy led by Patriarch Kirill who found nothing wrong with the Romanov family’s murder of innocent peasants and apostates (and were declared saints in the Russian Orthodox Church after well-placed bribes were placed with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow) and claimed that “attacks” on the church were identical to those by people who overthrew the scandalous Romanov dynasty; his words and that of Ratzinger were glorified by the statement of the deputy chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin.

Roger Vangheluwe, Bishop of Brugge

Roger Vangheluwe, Bishop of Brugge

Roman Catholic clergy and bedecked bishops in white lace flounces over flowing dresses of crimson, in the mid-20th century appointed a special papal commission to study whether Catholicism should permit the use of birth control. The commission, to no one’s surprise was composed almost completely of men chosen from their members. Theologians Anthony Kosnik, William Carroll, Ronald Modras, James Schulte, and Agnes Cunningham (the token female) took on the task. In 1977 they published Human Sexuality: New Directions in American Catholic Thought—not a woman of the general laity was involved, consulted, or considered.  The men, none of whom could become pregnant even after being raped, held the final card by claiming spiritual authority found nowhere in the Bible, yet as a few wags wrote: if men could become pregnant abortion would be a sacrament—bring a scowl from the German dragoon.  When the commission almost unanimously recommended that women should be allowed contraceptives, the church led by Ratzinger ignored the recommendation and doubled down on their absolute ban on contraception.

The Roman Catholic hierarchy has long preferred the death of a pregnant woman, impregnated even by rape or incest, over the removal of dead, deformed or damaging fetal tissue that can cost the woman her life.  The doctrine espoused by predatory prelates in countries where Roman Catholicism is the main force, such as in Latin America, Italy, Ireland and Poland, is that every zygote is a human baby in defiance of all medical logic and research to the contrary.

Brasilian cardinal Cardosa Sobrinho in political cartoon.

Brasilian cardinal Cardosa Sobrinho in political cartoon.

The patronizing pastors and predatory prelates, such as Jose Cardoso Sobrinho who has been characterized as being key-hole spies, have excommunicated the doctors who performed an abortion on a pregnant 9-year-old who’d been raped by her stepfather.  He went so far as to excommunicate the child’s mother for agreeing to the abortion but did not speak out or condemn the incestuous father who had been regularly raping the child since she was six years old. No charges, ecclesiastical or secular were filed against the father, although the mother was reprimanded for not having sufficient control over her daughter.

Brasil’s anachronistic Archbishop Jose Cardoso Sobrinho (born in Caruaru, June 30 1933- ) of the coastal city of Recife announced that for the Vatican he was excommunicating the entire family of the child who medically would not have been able to deliver a baby since her hips were too narrow but not the child since she was a minor.  The doctors who performed the abortion were hailed for their efforts, the Brasilian Minister of health Jose Gomes Temporao referred to the doctors’ work, performed March 4, 2009, as “brilliant”.

Cordoso Sobrinho excommunicates doctors and families who tolerate necessity of an abortion.

Cordoso Sobrinho excommunicates doctors and families who tolerate necessity of an abortion.

Temporao declared that doctors were required to put law before religion, a statement that the majority of Brasil agreed with, since, on the average, 8700 women die each year because of the lack of professional abortion providers and follow-up examinations.

A war of words ensued between the popular President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the archbishop over the church’s decision.   The President said:”As a Christian and a Catholic,

Brasil questions Catholic tradition and authority

Brasil questions Catholic tradition and authority

I find it deeply lamentable that a bishop of the Catholic Church has such a conservative attitude,” Lula said on Globo TV. “In this case, the medical profession was more right than the church. One of the doctors involved in the procedure, Dr. Olimpio Moraes, said he thanked the archbishop for his excommunication because the controversy sheds light on Brasil’s restrictive abortion laws. He said women in Brasil’s countryside are victimized by Brazil’s ban on abortion in the same way as they are in all Roman Catholic controlled countries (more than one million women undergo abortions each year in Brasil, and doctors treat more than 250,000 of them because of botched abortion techniques; read here and here and here).

Dom José cardinal Cardoso Sobrinho of Brasil

Dom José cardinal Cardoso Sobrinho of Brasil

Cardinal Cardoso Sobrinho has had other spurious accolades to his credit: he is among those who protect pedophiles throughout Brasil and has been seen in gay clubs.  Brasil’s (O. Carm.) of Recife and Olinda, has been portrayed in cartoons and tabloids not only as a peeping-tom: an alter ego of Brasil’s Roman Catholic Church but as a viper determined to extract confessions of presumed guilt from women in the same manner as

Dom José Cardoso Sobrinho cartoon

the Spanish Inquisition interrogated women with threats and force of diabolical designed machinery.  Among the least qualified for the cardinalate, it was Cardoso Sobrinho’s vehemently violent rhetoric that won him the beret that announced his ascension to the college of cardinals and left dread in the decaying family structure in Brasil that the prelate continuously attacked from pulpit and public squares.  As the clerical clown crowed, there was never a human right that he regarded or respected.

Every diocesan member had to fall to the miscreant mind-numbing murmurs of Mother Church.  The theological troglodyte retired on July 1, 2009; even the President of Brasil declaring that the prelate pushed beyond the borders of fairness and mercy with his senseless multiple excommunications.

The Roman Catholic episcopacy in Ireland is as savage and senseless as Cardoso Sobrinho in sanctioning the unnecessary deaths of women who cannot successfully or willingly give birth to products of rape, incest, and malformation. Savita Halappanavar wasn’t the first to die at Catholic-run hospitals that are willing to let women die rather than having a therapeutic safe abortion, even when a miscarriage is already in progress and no possible procedure could save the fetus.  Similar fate was in store for Americans whose closest hospital was Roman Catholic and where doctors forgot their Hippocratic Oath written in Ionic Greek (late 5th century BC),  that requires a new physician to swear upon a number of healing gods that he will uphold a number of professional ethical standards and look after the welfare of a living mortal.

A majority of Roman Catholic priests and prelates refused to provide contraception or abortion to women who were abducted and forced to work as prostitutes. Roman Catholic clergy have even gone as far as filing a frivolous lawsuit—that they lost—complaining that contraceptives were violating their religious freedom in telling women how they could control and manage their reproductive rights and bodies when the government took away their contract.  US District Judge Richard Stearns explained why the bishops were in the wrong, writing:

To insist that the government respect the separation of church and state is not to discriminate against religion; indeed, it promotes a respect for religion by refusing to single out any creed for official favor at the expense of all others…This case is about the limits of the government’s ability to delegate to a religious institution the right to use taxpayer money to impose its beliefs on others [who may or may not share them].

It is worse in Poland, the land of Polish extremism where hoodlums run free in the streets to deny individual rights of choice with praise from pastors to priests in their stand against what they see as corruption.  In Poland, the Roman Catholic Church, using tactics of the medieval Inquisition of the Christian religion in the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries, ordered Polish politicians to vote for a law banning IVF and threatened to excommunicate any who didn’t comply.  Those who did not capitulate immediately to the carnivorous clergy were mocked publicly and churches launched broadsides against the government as being “set against god”.

The Vatican with the entire episcopacy in lockstep as if all were hailing the return and revitalization of Ratzinger’s Third Reich, quickly went after women’s right of choice, specifically targeting the Komen Foundation and its organization better known for its “race for a cure” for breast cancer than its support of Planned Parenthood. It was the Roman Catholic Church that was the major source of the pressure on the Komen Foundation that led to its disastrous decision to cut ties with Planned Parenthood, with many claiming that the Komen Foundation was a front for the Roman Catholic Church.  As Reuters news agency noted:  “In recent years, Komen has allocated at least $17.6 million of the donations it receives to U.S. Catholic universities, hospitals and charities”–definitely not without ties to the Roman Catholic Church.  The veil of secrecy that shrouded the fund-raiser was removed.  Komen’s quickly lost favor when its support of Planned Parenthood became public knowledge and Church opposition reached dramatic new proportions in 2011, when the 11 bishops who represent Ohio’s 2.6 million Catholics announced a statewide policy banning church and parochial school donations to Komen.  Being a covert hand of the Roman Catholic Church, Komen within a few days reversed itself and withdrew its financial support of Planned Parenthood.

Forever the Grand Inquisitor, worse than that defined by Dostoevsky in his Brothers Karamazov, Benedict XVI feels he has a god-given right to interfere in politics in all nations.  Through the frigid mask of the Roman Catholic bishops of the USA, the Roman Catholic Church announced an inquisition into the Girl Scouts to get to the bottom of its association with morally suspect groups like Doctors without Borders and Oxfam.  The vile arm of the Roman Catholic Church is investigating the Girl Scouts because of the Girl Scouts alleged support for reproductive rights and freedom of choice for women.  Nationally, American Roman Catholic nuns are being charged with subversion as the villainous Vatican ordered a “doctrinal investigation” of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious.  The organization represents approximately 80 percent of American nuns, and can be sanctioned since they are a Roman Catholic organization.  The Girl Scouts are not affiliated with the cantankerous Church of Rome and are not welcome for promoting safe-sex and not abstinence.

The malevolent Vatican has bared its fangs frantically against Doctors without Borders because the administer medicine not ministry and offer equal care to all people.  The Roman Catholic hierarchy harangues the group because it not only supports the right of a woman to elect an abortion but states its willingness to offer therapeutic abortions without cost to the poor of the world.  Oxfam was denigrated by the Roman Catholic episcopacy and Ratzinger because it offers food to women who had abortions.  Yet the Roman Catholic Church gets over a billion Euros in property tax exemption to spread its hate and deny human rights worldwide.

Roman Catholic bishops in the USA, with the most notoriously sinister located in the Midwest, especially in Iowa with Bishop R. Walker Nickless of Sioux City, Iowa taking the most extreme stand calling it a line to vote on, Minnesota led by Archbishop John Nienstedt of Saint Paul & Minneapolis, and Wisconsin Bishop David Ricken of Green Bay who have long been against the US Bill of Rights when it comes to free choice, and Indiana’s Father Sammie Maletta of St. John the Evangelist Parish in St. John, who argues that the Roman Catholic Church has a right to instruct its followers on how to vote and live as a sign of religious liberty (funded by the Republican controlled Heritage Foundation; for more on this lie read here), and the majority (98%) of Roman Catholic women use contraceptives; and Obama won the majority of the Roman Catholic vote: 52% – 45%), that are cavalierly cannibalized by crass clergy, have been one of the major forces attacking Obamacare, filing lawsuits arguing that non-church Catholic employers should be able to decide whether or not employee health insurance plans will cover contraception. This is an unfurled and effective argument that a woman’s employer should be allowed to force her to pay more for medical coverage, or even place it out of her reach altogether, based on his religious beliefs. It is rank misogyny and gynophobia richly rendered by Benedict XVI and his gaggle of gospel geese that has little if any knowledge of what the original scrolls contain.  The Roman Catholic Church in the USA does not speak for all Roman Catholics in the USA.

In Australia, Roman Catholic clerics derailed police investigations of accused pedophile  priests.  The Australian Roman Catholic episcopacy has escalated putting pressure on higher-ups to get investigating officer removed from cases, especially in the case of the Rev. Frank Klep (read more here).

A direct assault on academic freedom occurs daily within the Roman Catholic Church and its schools, especially at San Augustine’s in Chiclayo (where I taught) and Lima, Perú, and the various Opus Dei schools, such as Colegios Cibos and  Fontanar, throughout Peru (it took over the Pontifical University in Lima to make it more “church oriented; Opus Dei runs Universidad de Piura, destroying its academic freedom and creating robots of its student body) are mindless institutions where obedience is more critical than objectivity, and where indoctrination is considered more worthwhile than is investigation and education.  Opus Dei schools have the singular intent of taking over the world and refashioning it in a way identical Hitler’s goal of controlling Europe and beyond (for the Spanish, read here), its crimes, especially in Perú, are legendary as it spins its tangled web throughout Nigeria and the rest of Africa. Far from being “spiritually based” its hidden agenda is to make as much money as possible and with it rule; its main apologist is Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, and has negligible difference from the group in Dan Brown’s DaVinci Code. The Roman Catholic Church demanded that Sunday school teachers sign a loyalty oath agreeing to submit “will and intellect” to the proclamations of church leaders (read here, and rational is here and here).

Some top church officials, including the current pope, have advocated denying communion to politicians who support progressive and pro-choice political ideas.  As occurred in the days of US Senator Joseph McCarthy (R-WI) who was openly controlled by the Roman Catholic Church in the USA, through the priest Edmund Walsh (when McCarthy died, over 100 priests met for the funeral mass and urged the Wisconsin senator to be declared a saint for his pursuit against “communism” and “enemies of religion” in which we find the foundation stones for Opus Dei and other organized hate groups) the Roman Catholic Church in the USA openly opposed President Barrack Obama on his social stands for the liberty of all and the right of choice (read here and here).  Throughout its petrified parsimonious past pushing to the present and into the future, the Roman Catholic Church also opposes preemptive war and the death penalty, no conservative politician has ever been denied communion on this basis.

Nuns on the bus (USA)

Nuns on the bus (USA)

From the bishops of New York to the most pathetic of patriarchs perched on the platform of religion as Pope Benedict XVI, Roman Catholic clergy have initiated an unprecedented unholy war against the Sisters of the Church (especially for Nuns on the Bus that toured the USA in quest of fairness for everyone) for showing too much compassion and charity to “fallen women”, the poor, victims of rape and violence, and those who seek the end of unwanted fetal tissue generation.   The mentality of the ministers of the faith is nearly Neanderthal in their cracked down on American nuns by Benedict XVI and American cardinals for doing too much to help the poor and not enough to oppose gay marriage, condemning them for displaying a seditious “feminist spirit“.

Tebartz-van Elst, 52, bishop of Limburg

Tebartz-van Elst, 52, bishop of Limburg

In Germany, where parishioners pay an officially assessed tax rate to the church, they’ve tried to blackmail people who don’t want to pay the church tax, threatening to fire them from jobs in church institutions. In some cases, if the person opts out but later loses the paperwork, they demand on-the-spot repayment of decades of back taxes.  Priests and bishops generally live more luxuriant lives than their parishioners and detail that their ministry demands more creature comforts (as with the German bishop Tebartz-van Elst, 52, of Limburg read here and here).

In the USA, the Roman Catholic bishops are worse than their continental compatriots.  They have compared Democratic officeholders, including President Obama, to Hitler and Stalin (read here for the comments of Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Illinois; cp. here for those made by Bishop Thomas John Paprocki from Springfield, Illinois) and have

said that it jeopardizes a person’s eternal salvation if they don’t vote as the bishops instruct them to vote.  They are supported by the most evil encampment of enemies to the US Constitution and to freedom: the Becket Foundation, a far-right group organized to fight any separation of state and church (read here and here) and is a quasi-official arm of the Roman Catholic Church and the Republican Party.

Benedict XVI and Roman Catholic bishops fight against equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. Not only does the Catholic Church hierarchy refuse to officially perform church weddings for gay and lesbian couples (many priests do perform them privately or semi-privately and I have attended two of them); they want to write that prohibition into the civil law and deny marriage equality to everyone who doesn’t fit their religious criteria.  The Roman Catholic Church as a single entity, plus various bishoprics and archbishoprics has invested vast amounts of money and effort into doing so. In the 2012 election cycle alone, the church spent almost $2 million in an unsuccessful fight to defeat marriage-equality initiatives in four states amounting to more than $11.3 million from donations to the church by parishioners but without getting any parishioner’s consent for the expenditure

Like many evangelical ministers who, when not wife-swapping or having boyfriends and boy toys on the side, Roman-Catholic bishops and clergy are kept busy  comparing gay sex to pedophilia and incest and called for it to be forbidden by law, saying that “states can and must regulate behaviors, including various sexual behaviors.”  These accusations continue even though 10,969 Roman Catholic clergy in the USA admit to being pedophiles.

The fear of homosexuality that is rampant throughout the Roman Catholic (studies do not agree as to numbers, but estimates are between 23% – 58%; read here), Orthodox (there are no studies since most priests refuse interviews or paper surveys, but the various churches from Russian to Bulgarian, Ukrainian, etc argue that homosexuality is a sin and one who is homosexual cannot be a priest) and various Protestant ministerial groups (it is accepted in the ELCA of the Lutheran Church but not the Missouri or Wisconsin synods), has led especially Roman Catholic organizations, on strict order by the Vatican, to  shut down adoption clinics rather than consider gay people as prospective parents. The church’s quasi-official position is that it’s better for children to remain orphans or in foster care than to be placed in a loving, committed same-sex household (here and here and here for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychology based on scientific studies).

Matthew-Shepard-Scholars, of the Diocese of Davenport, Iowa: The Eychaner Foundation

More gruesome is the Roman Catholic Church’s stand against any gay group that is working to end Church and School efforts to ban any anti-LGBT bullying group, anti-teen-suicide foundation from any Catholic school ceremony.  The Roman Catholic Church explained it that the group’s mission is “contrary to the teachings of the Catholic church” as was the case in

Martin J. Amos, 8th bishop of Davenport, Iowa

Martin J. Amos, 8th bishop of Davenport, Iowa

Davenport, Iowa, where its bishop, Martin Amos, retread to fifteenth century thought trumpeted by the Inquisition of the Roman Catholic Church suffering under its most corrupt pedophile popes in its ecclesiastical history in denouncing the group at Prince of Peace Catholic School.  Sectarian politics played a major role in this attack on human freedoms, when the prelate complained that unspecified groups awarding scholarships were not in accord with Roman Catholic Church teachings, then backtracked by noting that both the Roman Catholic Church and the scholarship were against bullying and defamation of character.  This issue had not arisen in any previous statement nor at any earlier time.  It came out only when one Roman Catholic high school

Keaton Fuller received a Matthew Sheperd scholarship, initially rejected by the archdiocese of Davenport.

senior Keaton Fuller, Clinton, Iowa, won a $40,000 scholarship named after martyred Matthew Shepard who was tied to a fence with barbed wire in Wyoming and left to die for being gay.

On April 27, 2012, the Diocese intervened and told the recipient that a member of the would not be permitted to present the award at graduation, but that it would be presented by a school staff member in fear that some molecules from the award would infect the other graduates and turn them gay. The bishop, Martin J. Amos, through the diocese office, issued a statement that it was a “long-standing policy” regarding guest speakers that the school “cannot allow anyone or any organization which [sic] promotes a position that is contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church to present at a diocesan institution”.  The Des Moines Register later printed:

Fuller and the Eychaner Foundation’s founder, Rich Eychaner, both thanked Bishop Amos for finding an acceptable resolution. The script to be read on graduation day will say the scholarship ‘is granted to distinguished Iowa high school seniors who are openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender’ and that Fuller ‘gradually shared his story with friends and classmates … and was embraced by the Prince of Peace community.

“ ‘As I leave Prince of Peace, it’s comforting to know that this experience may make it easier for the next gay student who attends this school,’ Fuller said in a statement issued Friday. ‘Please know that this week has not been about me. Rather, it has been about recognizing that everybody deserves to be treated equally, regardless of any differences we may have.’ ”

The Roman Catholic Council of USA Bishops is even more reactionary that Iowa’ Bishop Ames, with many of the bishops self-confessed pedophiles.  They told a teenager he wouldn’t be allowed to go through confirmation because he posted a pro-gay-rights status message on Facebook, and they expelled a preschooler from a private Catholic school because his parents were lesbians. This was true both in Grand Forks and throughout Minnesota

Rachel Mike, who won a settlement in a case involving Father Poole, at her confirmation in the summer of 1975. Behind her is Father George Endal, accused of raping or molesting several boys and allegedly walking in on another priest performing oral sex on a 6-year-old boy and doing nothing to stop it.

as with the Jesuit priest Donald J. McGuire. Oregon’s dioceses paid more than

$166 million (the third largest settlement to sex abuse survivors who were Native Americans and Alaskan natives, boys and girls, who were abused by priests at Catholic schools throughout Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.  The settlement covered more than 450 victims raped by Jesuit priests of the Roman Catholic Church.  Most rapes occurred in remote villages and on reservations, and when the Jesuits filed for bankruptcy in 2009, the victims responded noting that the province remained wealthy because it controls and owns Gonzaga University, Gonzaga Preparatory School, Seattle University and other schools and properties with Opus Dei prevalent in most institutions. The Jesuits made Alaska a “pedophile paradise“.

Timothy cardinal Dolan (New York City) pedophile cover-up in Milwaukee and NYC

Timothy cardinal Dolan (New York City) pedophile cover-up in Milwaukee and NYC

To cover-up their own pedophile propensities and seduction of women, the Roman Catholic Council of Bishops in the USA have a history of dumping known pedophile priests in isolated, poor, rural communities, where they apparently assumed that local people wouldn’t dare to complain or that no one would listen if they did.   Adding insult to injury, the attackers of the victims were give payouts  — as much as $20,000 in some cases — to pedophile priests, to buy their silence and quietly ease them out of the priesthood, after specifically denying in public that they were doing this with such payouts being orchestrated and pushed by New York City Timothy cardinal Dolan (read here) who was, then, archbishop of Milwaukee.

When the legislature of the State of Connecticut proposed extending statute-of-limitations laws to allow older child-abuse cases to be tried, the bishops of Connecticut ordered a letter to be read during Mass instructing parishioners to contact their representatives and lobby against it.  The bishops claimed that they were worried about frivolous lawsuits.  To fight back against and intimidate abuse-survivor groups like SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests), the church’s lawyers have filed absurdly broad subpoenas demanding the disclosure of decades’ worth of documents.

Bill Donahue of the Catholic League against SNAP

Bill Donahue of the Catholic League against SNAP

William Donahue, an arch-conservative Roman Catholic, calls SNAP “a menace to the Catholic Church” for exposing rampant pedophiles in its membership.  While Donahue argues that the bishops are in league together to fight charges, the US Council of Catholic Bishops has rejected such a claim.

Similar problems occurred throughout the USA. No diocese was exempt.

Monsignor William Lynn kept predators in ministry in Philadelphia

Monsignor William Lynn kept predators in ministry in Philadelphia

When Monsignor William Lynn, a Catholic official from Philadelphia, was charged with knowingly returning predator priests to duty, his defense was to blame those decisions on his superior, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua (read here about Romano Ferraro, and here for Father Peter J. Dunn who was judged “a very sick man” and was psychoanalyzed as an untreatable pedophile, and a narcissist with an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder; and here for Rev. Stanley Gana who collected nude photographs of his victims) ultimately judged competent to stand trial.  His statement acknowledged that the corruption reaches to the highest levels of the church.

Forcible castrations were justified as a means to keep youth from homosexuality and to punish young males who were not "cooperative".

Forcible castrations were justified as a means to keep youth from homosexuality and to punish young males who were not “cooperative”.

In the Netherlands, ten boys were castrated in church-run hospitals after complaining to the police about sexual abuse by priests (many young males were castrated on orders from bishops who feared they were homosexuals, and were told that castration cures a male of homosexual tendencies).  The archbishop used the same excuse as given by the Nazis to justify his silence.  Several months later, it was reported that this same cardinal had personally arranged to move a pedophile priest to a different parish to shield him from accusations.

Ad cardinal Simmons of Utrecht transferred a paedophile priest to a parish in Amersfoort where the priest repeatedly sexually abused children

Ad cardinal Simmons of Utrecht transferred a paedophile priest to a parish in Amersfoort where the priest repeatedly sexually abused children

While he was Archbishop of Utrecht, Cardinal Ad Simonis shielded a paedophile priest.  This was neither the first nor the last time that the Church in the Netherlands covered paedophiles, both priests and nuns.

Even alleged saints have been implicated in sex abuse cases.  In one case, Mother Teresa successfully persuaded the church to return a later convicted pedophile priest, Father Donald McGuire, to duty because he was a friend of hers (read here and here). Eight additional complaints of child abuse were later lodged against Father Donald McGuire, justifying Christopher Hitchens original indictment of the Albanian born nun in his 1997 book, The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice (London and New York: Verso, 1995). Among other “oversights” Teresa had set up a worldwide system of “homes for the dying” that routinely failed to provide adequate care to patients.

Kaligat (Mother Theresa's home for sick and dying, Calcutta)

Kaligat (Mother Theresa’s home for sick and dying, Calcutta)

There is money to be made by the Roman Catholic Church is raising dead people to sainthood, as with Mother Teresa.  They canonized Mother Teresa for doing little more than offering a squalid place for people to die; it was called Kaligat; starvation is one of the main sources of death, despite that there is an abundance of food for those who can pay for it, next to none is given in charity, with children being the primary victims). Outside observers who visited her “Home for the Dying” reported that medical care was substandard and dangerous, limited to aspirin and unsterilized needles rinsed in tap water, administered by untrained volunteers. The millions of dollars collected by Mother Teresa and her order, enough to build many advanced clinics and hospitals remain unaccounted for.

Father Martin P. O'Loghlen

Father Martin P. O’Loghlen

Never troubled by appointing pedophiles to church offices, the Roman Catholic Church appointed Martin O’Loghlen, to a church-run sexual abuse advisory board – even though O’Loghlen himself was a known abuser who molested a teenage girl, Julie Malcom (she later filed legal action against him), in the 1960s and admitted to having a “sexual addiction”.  When this was discovered, it was poorly veiled, still the Roman Catholic Church had the audacity to plead for money and ask parishioners to pick up the tab for legal costs and settlements.

The Australian and New Zealand nuns in the Roman Catholic Church followed precedents established in Europe, especially in Ireland, by its nuns and priests abducting  tens of thousands of babies from unwed mothers who gave birth in Catholic-run hospitals all.  They also forced drugged or helpless women to give their newborn children up for adoption against their will.

The list is endless.  The atrocities, barbarities and evil of the Roman Catholic Church is tantamount to the disdain and disregard of all other churches including the Russian Orthodox Church and its attack on dissent in the case with Pussy Riot.  Like the Taliban and Islamic extremists, the Roman Catholic Church also strangles dissent and dissenters (literally and metaphorically) as when it tried to have the Indian skeptic Sanal Edamuruku charged with blasphemy and imprisoned for debunking a claim of a miraculous weeping statue (read here and here and here and here).

The Roman Catholic Church’s finances are a disorganized mess.  The operate their own bank with ATMs, all mired in money laundering, but lack strong accounting controls and clear internal separations, which means parishioners who give to the church can have no assurance of what the money will be used for.  According to an investigation by the Economist, funds meant for hospitals, cemeteries and priests’ pensions have been raided to pay legal fees and settlements in several diocesan bankruptcies.

Vatican ATM is in Latin

Vatican ATMs are in Latin

The Roman Catholic Church is one large scandal and at the top of this scandal is the bankrupt papacy, the worse in history: Benedict XVI is implicated with two top associates in money laundering.  His life-size portrait hangs over all ATMs with all instructions for use in Latin.  Benedict XVI has never been a saint, as new information surfaces on the predatory pope daily (read here and here and here where Ratzinger is given the title of God’s Rottweiler, while placing “the devil” (not the pedophile priest) as the source of evil in child abuse cases).

Stop supporting the church with your money and your time. Such action, however it may seem is more than justified by a cornucopia of reasons showing that the church as an institution is beyond reform, and the only meaningful response is to part ways with it and let it die in the filth of its pedophile priests, greed for enrichment of a few while millions starve, and the lack of a mission to truly educate rather than indoctrinate new generations of soon-to-be Roman robots.

Keiko Fujimori: Thief, Liar, Assassin and President?

Nobel Laureate Mario Vargas Llosa against Keiko as president of Perú 2011

Over one hundred Peruvian writers, among them the Nobel prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa, have signed an open letter rejecting and repudiating the return of the Fujimori family to power.  Alfredo Bryce Echenique, Miguel Gutiérrez, Rodolfo Hinistroza, Daniel Alarcón, Santiago Roncagliolo, Fernando Iwasaki, Jorge Eduardo Benavides and Eduardo González Viaña are among the novelists signing the document.  According to the manifest called “Against Fujimorism return and in favor of democracy” Keiko’s election would represent a national defeat in a country that has managed to judge for crimes against humanity Alberto Fujimori’s officials and the former present himself.  The writers in unison proclaimed that “Peru should reject impunity, expand the faith in the democratic system with justice for all and possibility of progress in a legitimate manner.”  (http://www.buenosairesherald.com/article/68159/writers-reject-fujimori-comeback; on a counterpunch, read: http://www.peruviantimes.com/25/vargas-llosa-de-soto-launch-attacks-in-presidential-campaign/12362/)

Perú trial judges before convicting Alberto Fujimori for crimes against humanity

At first, Keiko’s stated aim was to free her father (who is sitting in a luxury prison especially built for him where he lacks none of the refinements of comfort; http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2073761,00.html), who is serving 25 years for authorizing death squad killings (A three-judge panel convicted him of ordering a military death squad to carry out massacres during his 1990 to 2000 rule. against Fujimori who had his military and paramilitary forces execute workers and laborers indiscriminately) that included tortures worse than even Adolf Hitler could have conceived; for example:  Mariela Barreto was quartered using surgical equipment, and the precision of the cuts indicates that they were performed by someone with a master knowledge of anatomy.  Barreto’s remains were found in three different sacks left on a road outside Lima, a few days before those who found the sacks reveal the exact location of the mass grave where the remains of

Murder of Intelligence Agent Mariela Barreto for exposing Alberto Fujimori

the victims of a massacre were buried as if they had been mad dogs put to a painful death by men who were less than animals themselves.  Ms. Barreto Barreto had been a member of an intelligence unit known as the Grupo Colina, a death squad led by Major Santiago Martin Rivas, under the direction of the Presidential Advisor and intimate friend of Alberto and his four children (Keiko was quite fond of him)

Vladimiro Montesinos (l) and Alberto Fujimori (r)

Vladimiro Montesinos who ordered her execution as a reprisal of the Colina group members who assassinated students and teachers who were considered to “left-wing” by the Fujimoris, because she passed information to the press about the mass grave of La Cantuta massacre victims.  These acts were coupled by open looting of the National Treasury by Fujimori and Montesinos during Alberto Fujimori’s blood-drenched 1990-2000 rule (Briceno, Franklin and Salazar, Carla. “Shadow of the Disgraced president looms in the Peru race, St. Petersburg, FL (USA) Times {May 20, 2011} and forcing on unwilling (and in most cases, unknowing) poor people mass sterilizations identical to the maneuver of Adolf Hitler. Women were coerced, lied to, and forced to be sterilized, sometimes being told that if they didn’t get their tubes tied, the government would stop giving food to their children. Nurses in hospitals had sterilization quotas to meet. When women in a village were sterilized, some of the nurses who helped in the operations were also forced to be sterilized or else lose their jobs, which they usually did anyway, but Keiko was never forced to undergo the procedure although she met the criteria, and helped create it (read http://vivirlatino.com/2009/04/16/add-this-to-fujimoris-crimes-mass-sterilizations.php; see the videos at http://carlosqc.blogspot.com/2009/06/videos-interview-with-perus-indigenous.html).  One of Keiko’s top campaign adviser, Alejandro Aguinaga, was Fujimori’s health minister when the government was accused of forcing some 3,000 poor peasant women to be sterilized. Fujimori’sallies, like Keiko, said the women consented.  Evidence shows otherwise, and even one Congresswoman who was forcibly sterilized contradicts her colleague’s rhetoric on the campaign trail, as InsightTV noted:

Victim of forced sterilization by Fujimori

“The police said to my husband ‘if she doesn’t get sterilised, the police will arrest you right now and you will be sterilised instead… they threw me on the trolley and tied me up” Rudesinda Quillawamang.

When Fujimori launched a massive family planning campaign in the mid-nineties it was widely hailed and supported by the United Nations and international aid agencies alike. His aim, he said, was to liberate men and women from the burden of poverty and large families. Now, he’s facing genocide charges. During the Fujimori regime, the current government says, over 300,000 men and women were sterilised against their will (read: http://www.insightnewstv.com/d68/).

Many, including Mario Vargas Llosa, have said Keiko is more comfortable in living a lie than telling the truth.  As for being knowledgeable about the Perú Constitution or duties as a Congressional representative, Keiko is at a loss.  First elected in 2006, she has missed 370 sessions during her tenure, some for maternity leave as she gave birth to two daughters, some for finishing a master’s degree in business administration at Columbia University–all at the expense of the Perú treasury.  As for legislation: Keiko has sponsored just six laws in all.

Today, to win the presidency, Keiko has temporarily rejected that idea, although those close to her state that she will pardon Alberto once she is elected.  The common thought is she will restore the military to hegemonic control and further debase the economy and reestablish death squads to root out those who opposed her father and those who oppose her plans to reshape Perú in her own image.

In 2009, Keiko complained Keiko Fujimori further complained that her father was convicted “like a terrorist leader” (http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/news/263689,keiko-fujimori-launches-crusade-for-her-father.html).  “I do not believe that there was asystematic human rights violation policy, since the anti-terrorist policy to achieve the pacification of Peru was to strengthen the Armed Forces, to have state presence in faraway places and to gain back the confidence of the population,” she argued, ignoring that the greatest terrorists in Perú during the dictatorship of her father came out of the military who were ordered by Alberto to kill all who opposed him.

Vigil for those who were slaughtered by Alberto Fujimori's paramilitary assassins

Throughout her campaign, Keiko has regularly defended her father. top campaign aide, Jaime Yoshiyama, led the legislative body that rewrote Peru’s constitution after Alberto Fujimori shut down congress in 1992. That allowed him to be re-elected twice.

Most Peruanos recall Alberto Fujimori as the man who led the most corrupt government in their country’s modern history.  Since Alberto Fujimori fled Peru in disgrace and faxed his resignation from his ancestral Japan in 2000 (where his ambition was to run for the Japanese Senate {June 8, 2008, read at: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/06/28/1964095.htm}, and marry a Japanese wife: Satomi Kataoka, read at: http://www.livinginperu.com/news/7202), nearly 1,500 people connected to the Fujimori government have been prosecuted on corruption and other

charges, and many of the current Fujimoristas in the Perú Congress are now under active investigation for narcotrafficking, as is Keiko and her brother Kenji—neither of whom have worked even one day at any job, preferring being pampered and their expenses (such as Keiko’s tuition and living costs at Columbia University in New York City) by the Perú Treasury.  Alberto Fujimori stole from the Perú treasury more than US$354,000 to educate his four children in the USA.  Fujimori paid $ 300 thousand a month for the department where they were staying and when Keiko was visiting Peru, and handed his daughter an envelope with $ 10,000 for her “expenses” (above tuition and books) in the U.S. between 1994 and 1998 (Fujimori pagó mil 300 dólares mensuales por el departamento donde se hospedaban y cuando Keiko venía de visita a Perú, le entregaba un sobre con 10 mil dólares para sus gastos en EEUU entre 1994 a 1998; read http://contextonoticias.blogspot.com/2009/05/contraloria-alberto-fujimori-gasto.html)

At the same time, Alberto Fujimori paid for all international trips taken by children as they jetted around the world.  The money for the adventures came from the National Intelligence Service (SIN) which in turn extorted it from the National Treasury, as Fujimori’s former aide Vladimiro Montesinos confessed.

1. Keiko Fujimori; 2. Kenyi Fujimori; 3. Hiro Fujimori; 4. Sachi Fujimori (Alberto Fujimori spent $ 94 000 in Keiko, 150 thousand dollars in Hiro, 50 thousand dollars in $ 60 000 Sachi and Kenji in, so that they could study at USA universities)

Today’s Congresswoman Keiko Fujimori, running for President of the Republic of Perú denies the theft.  Keiko claims that her father sold the family apartment to pay for the studies of her siblings–which is an obvious lie as the property was sold in 1999 after she and Hiro completed their studies. Alberto Fujimori’s former aide Vladimiro Montesinos confessed that he paid the education of children of Fujimori to use the money from the National Intelligence Service (SIN)–at the time that Keiko first flew to New York. What an poor professor of agriculture (Alberto Fujimori) spent on his children’s education in the USA–at the expense of the people of Perú

Alberto Fujimori's corrupt judiciary openly took bribes

Pedro Gamarra, an anti-corruption prosecutor handling cases from Fujimori’s presidency, has noted: “In the history of South America, at least, nowhere have so many people have been tried for corruption beginning with the president, his ministers and generals.” Among those convicted and sentenced to prison are eight former Cabinet ministers, three former military commanders, an attorney general and a former chief of the Supreme Court of Perú who did as they were told and received monetary compensation for their rulings in favor of the death squads and the dictatorship until they were openly exposed on film, as well as uneducated but obedient soldiers who belonged to a secret death squad that killed no less than fifty people, including an

Javier Manuel Ríos Rojas, age 8, murdered by Fujimori's death squads

eight-year-old boy who was about to eat.  The boy’s name was Javier Manuel Ríos Rojas, but he was not the only child victim of Fujimori’s cruelty nor singled out by the “Colinas” as the assassins were known, but other children simply vanished without a trace, although today bodies are being exhumed from the earth and attention is given to determine who the remains had at one time been; Fujimori disavowed the murders as being the actions of those who were overly zealous. The question is: how can any person be so committed to one ruler that he would execute an eight year old boym which is what Fujimori’s thugs did without remorse or pity.  Others followed Javier Manuel Rios Rojas to the grave at the hands of Fujimori’s paramilitary “Colina” who even went into areas where parties were being given in celebration of birthdays, anniversaries and even weddings, as was the case where assassins paid by the Fujimoris entered into Los Barrios Altos and left a blood bath equal to the carnage of Chicago when Al Capone ruled as if was the godfather of the Fujimoria).  These executions  Keiko was privy to knowing since, as a teenager, she served as First Lady and special advisor to her father.  Not only is Keiko considered guilty of theft, assassination and assassination plots (both successful and aborted), and looting the national treasury in Lima, but two brothers and two sisters of the former president are on a list of 55 government-linked fugitives.  There are many Peruanos who still support Alberto and see nothing wrong with his death squads, untold horrors of torture of women, children, and men, nor his destruction of the Perú Constitution, dissolving Perú’s Congress, or establishing a dictatorship as affirmed by Jair Rodriquez at Tarapoto (http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2073761,00.html).

Transparency International deemed Fujimori the seventh most corrupt leader in modern times on a list topped by Suharto, the former Indonesian leader. It estimated members of Alberto Fujimori’s administration stole $600 million. Estimates by others reach into the billions.  Avelino Guillen, the prosecutor who eventually won the former dictator’s 2009 conviction on human rights abuses, payment of over $15 million to his chief spy Vladimiro Montesinos, and numerous other charges of corruption, noted that only about $184 million has been recovered from bank accounts in Switzerland, the United States, Luxembourg and Panama.

Poverty in Cusco, Perú 2011

Those who support Keiko are among the upper-middle class and the wealthy (especially of Lima) and poor Peruvians who credit her father with defeating Shining Path rebels and putting the economy on solid footing after former (and current) Perú President Alan Garcia Perez’ mismanagement of the economy sent inflation spiraling upward to over 7000%.  Those who were hurt the hardest by the run-away inflation were the very poorest–the bottom 40% of Peru’s people who could barely afford food, and where the parents worked for twelve to fourteen hours a day, six days a week–a condition that only modestly improved with the ascent of Fujimori–but then instead of worrying about hunger they had to worry about civil war, being involuntarily sterilized, and if caught openly dissenting, being murdered by Fujimori’s paramilitary thugs who killed for the thrill of watching people die horrendously torturous deaths. Unfortunately the same who can now vote for Keiko had been deprived of that right for years:

Poverty under Alberto Fujimori (at present the poverty rate is c. 48%; source: CIA)

Forty years ago, illiterates were not able to vote, and in the department of Cusco only 5% of voting age voted. The poorest peasants and indigenous were illiterates and did not have representation, and in that case, Congress did not pass laws to benefit them. Now it has to do with barriers to entrance to political activity, a similar objective. Racism in Peru (the banner reads: Stop the racism so that Perú can be one)

They will support Keiko on election-day because of their own crimes of greed.  The blatant racism of the Fujimori family and the Fujimoristas in Congress is no secret, but publicly known, and it is this racism that will push another fascist into the eternally corrupt presidency of Perú where beer is openly served and consumed contrary to the laws that are neither remembered nor enforced as everyone from judges to police are open to graft and extortion (http://vivirlatino.com/2009/05/04/language-the-media-access-to-power-peruvian-congress-woman-hilaria-supa.php).

Keiko Fujimori bought votes by handing out bags of rice May 2011

Keiko claims she is not a carbon copy of her father, but her speeches expose the lie that she issues daily. Keiko belches the same campaign promises that worked for her father: fighting crime (and hiring the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani who took credit for fighting crime in New York City which had already fallen under his predecessor, and it and poverty remained basically constant during his reign of terror on the rights of workers), working for the poor and providing school lunches and uniforms.  To this end, breaking the laws of Perú, Keiko was frequently photographed handing out rice to the poor in exchange for their votes (http://livinginperu.com/news-14834-2011-elections-keiko%e2%80%99s-campaigners-distribute-food-for-runoff-support-reveals-email The newspaper El Mundo a national newspaper reported on May 11, 2011: “Keiko Fujimori’s campaign team follows the same electoral strategy applied by her father to win an election: populist welfare.  As in the nineties, Fujimori’s sympathizers want to exchange votes for rice, lentils, sugar and canned milked, products that are a luxury in the periphery areas of Lima due to its high prices”).

Alberto Fujimori's private prison

The fact that Keiko remains in daily contact with her father was revealed by La Republica. They show two of Keiko Fujimori’s campaign trucks appearing to enter and leave the police compound where Alberto Fujimori lives in relative comfort as the sole inmate and protected around the clock with a select group of trained military and a house staff that even prepares special meals. The prison is equipped with a television and other creature comforts no other prisoners and any other Perú prison possess or have access to using or enjoying. (read:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43114531/; also cp. http://www.rfi.fr/actufr/articles/096/article_60121.asp).

While Keiko promises that all Peruanos deserve a quality education in Perú, she and her siblings took their education in the USA at the expense of Perú, with Kenji opting for Kansas (he was never a stellar student) while the rest of the Fujimori family went to New York (http://www.asocamerlat.org/chasqui13_agosto2010.htm).  It was for this reason that Keiko is still under investigation for “illicit enrichment”: having her tuition paid  illegally by the government of her father Alberto (Cuando el fujimorismo pensaba que gracias a la decisión del fiscal Jaime Schwartz se habían limpiado los obstáculos judiciales para la candidatura presidencial de su agrupación, la fiscal de la Nación Gladys Echaíz optó por abrirle una investigación preliminar a Keiko Fujimori por enriquecimiento ilícito. Article on Chief of Security Montesinos and Keiko Fujimori (La República)

Keiko Fujimori and Rudy Giuliani team up

Like her dictator father, Alberto Fujimori who broke nearly every Perú law, including suspending the Constitution of Perú and illegally closing the Congress of Perú before beginning his reign of terror, theft, political assassinations, and more, Keiko Sophia Fujimori is headed in the same direction, as the Fujimoristas (her father’s political party; Keiko, under the advice of her brother Kenji, changed the name of her party to Fuerza 2011) is filled with candidates who have drug connections that have been denounced by the governments of the USA, UK, and other nations (see: Ángel Páez, “Fujimorismo Candidates Allegedly Tied to Drug Trade” at http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=54928).  U.S. State Department documents leaked by the whistleblower website WikiLeaks have pointed to other connections between members of Fuerza 2011 and suspected drug traffickers.  DEVIDA, the Perú national anti-drugs commission, promoted an Ethical Commitment against Drug Trafficking to be adopted by political parties taking part in the elections. Fujimori and her party did not sign it as the Fujimoris have long been associated with illegal drug running and sales.

Keiko Fujimori with Pepe Vásquez at a political rally 2011

Among the suspected Fujimoristas is José “Pepe” Vásquez, for alleged ties to Peruvian drug lord Augusto Arriaga, a well-known singer of Afro-Peruvian folk music, was the first to come to light, only a few days after Fujimori presented her list of congressional candidates.   La República, a Lima newspaper, exposed two other Fujimorista congressional aspirants suspected of having contacts with drug trafficking cartels:  Karina Beteta and Juan Almonacid are both from the central province of Huanuco where coca leaf and cocaine is produced in the Upper Huallaga valley and both have a record of being “familiar” with narcotraffickers (The CVs submitted by Beteta and Almonacid did not mention that they are under investigation for drug trafficking and money laundering).

Karina Beteta (Fujimorista) running for Congress in Perú

Prosecutors suspect that Beteta, a lawyer, helped cover up the illicit origin of assets owned by her brother-in-law, Luis Egoavil, who has a criminal record for drug trafficking.  Keiko has refused to make comments on the charges or the time she spends in the Andes where drug runners are numerous.  This has led the head of the National Council for Public Ethics (Proética), Cecilia Blondet, to tell IPS:  “As things stand, it would seem that drug trafficking is not an issue of real concern and interest to some authorities” (http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=54928). El Comercio, published a diplomatic cable from the U.S. embassy in Peru dated Nov. 28, 2006, alleging that Rofilio Neyra, a businessman, had links to the drug trade., but Keiko defended him and kept him on the Fuerza 2011 ticket.  Keiko Fujimori has herself been linked to persons investigated for drug trafficking as has her brother who won a seat in the Perú Congress which provides for a lifetime pension.  Keiko admitted on a television programme that she received campaign contributions in 2006 from the family of fisheries businessman Eudocio “Olluquito” Martínez, who was investigated for drug trafficking charges, and she has not denied they are financing her present campaign (see my previous blogs on Keiko and her family.

Susana Higushi holding photo of her daughter Keiko Fujimori

Keiko’s mother, told El Popular (6 May 2011), that her daughter is seen as an angel by many, but to her is the devil: “Susana Higuchi describe a Keiko: ‘Ella es la candidata natural del Fujimorismo. Tiene ángel para la gente de afuera, pero para mi tínen cara de diablo” (read: Japan Weekly Monitor. 2002-03-04.  She would tell Perú police and prosecutors that her husband (Alberto) and daughter Keiko would abuse her. After she divorced Alberto, her former husband and dictator of Perú declared that his teenage daughter, Keiko, would be First Lady of Perú which was a highly unusual and controversial move in the conservative nation in South America, especially since Keiko had no experience in politics and would never have a job for even one day before she was awarded with a seat in the Congress of Perú in Lima (see:  http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-25199982_ITM; see: http://business.highbeam.com/410578/article-1G1-84261585/fujimori-counters-exwife-torture-claim and https://arthuride.wordpress.com/2011/05/10/keiko-sophia-fujimori-to-be-president-of-peru/).

Keiko Fujimori when asked a question during the campaign

Keiko’s modus operandi follows that of her despicably nefarious fascist father: lies and bribes.  Her bribes are universally known: giving rice to the poor to buy their vote, silencing the military with money stolen from

Vladimiro Montisenos Torres, chief spy of Perú

the Perú treasury by Vladimiro Montesinos Torres (who also challenged dollars, no Perú soles, to Keiko while she was attending Columbia University as papa Alberto wanted his daughter to have a “real education” than to be taught in Perú), and claiming that she was an interactive congresistas while missing more than 400 sessions, etc.), but to this list she adds congenital lies. The latter, her nature to lie to the people of Perú, is easily seen in her spending Perú wealth on a lying Mayor of New York: Rudy Giuliani (read: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42076028/ns/world_news-americas/), who made the bold and nonfactual statement that he cut crime in New York City by 50%.

Rudolph (Rudy) Giuliani when running for president of the USA

Giuliani often talks about how crime in NYC declined while he was at the city’s helm–and that’s true. But he’s purposefully lying when he describes the city as having “record crime” until he took office. This is not true. The violent crime rate had peaked in 1990, as the property crime rate hit a high point in 1988—long before Giuliani was elected mayor. Giuliani’s mayoral rule began in 1994—four to six years before Giuliani became mayor.

Giuliani's record on property crime rate 1994-2000

Giuliani’s political campaign was technically, but not factually, correct when it claimed that crime was cut “in half” in his term, which ended in 2001. During his time in office violent crime fell 56% in NYC but only 33% nationally. If Giuliani had ever been honest during his destructive years as mayor, Giuliani would have been correct to say the city was experiencing “NEAR record crime,” but a “record” is “an unsurpassed statistic.” This ad is simply false when it says the city experienced “record crime … until Rudy.” (Source: FactCheck.org: AdWatch of 2007 campaign ad, “Challenges” Nov 27, 2007).

Giuliani's record on violent crimes (1994-2000)

Crime did dropped dramatically during Giuliani’s tenure from 1993 to 2002, but that was the result of his advisors actions, neither his personal actions nor attention to the needs of victims. Like Keiko Fujimori, he lied to his people to gain political office and wealth.  The fact is that the city of New York is still in the midst of a record-setting trend for consecutive years of declining violent crimes. It is a trend that actually started under Giuliani’s predecessor, David Dinkins, in 1990, when a high of 174,542 violent crimes were reported according to the FBI, and has continued under his successor, Mike Bloomberg. In 2006, a new low of 52,086 such crimes were reported.  Both Dinkins and Bloomberg were more successful in cutting crime in New York City than Giuliani ever was—Giuliani, like Keiko Fujimori, merely was playing to the conservative fears of losing their wealth, a wealth that came by mistreating and underpaying employees, maintaining poor housing and doing nothing to stop inflation, and like Keiko Fujimori, working to cut taxes for the wealth at the expense of the dwindling numbers in the Middle Class and making poverty a more prevalent and ghettos greater in number than before.

Jaywalking against a light or where there was no safety painted stripes in New York City

Rudy Giuliani’s idea of “security” and “crime control” is o have his police officers aggressively enforce the anti-jaywalking statute (not crossing the street at designated crosswalks), declaring certain formerly legal street-crossings off-limits; and, by installing fences on Midtown corners to prevent any pedestrian traffic at those points, so as not to impede the flow of motor vehicles on the major arteries.  Giuliani was known throughout New York City as favoring cars over people flew in the face of most current urbanist thinking. (Source: America‘s Mayor, America‘s President?, by R. Polner, p. 65-6 May 2, 2007.)

Giuliani’s initial attack on “crime” and the “lack of security” was unique—especially by Perú standards.  As Giuliani wrote in his autobiography:

Giuliani considers windshield washing without permission a serious crime

That’s how the idea for addressing the squeegee man problem appeared.

There were men who would wander up to a car stopped in traffic, spray the windshield, & wipe it down. After the unsolicited “cleaning,” the man would request payment. [This crime was unacceptable to Giuliani, and believed all those who washed windshields without being requested and then asking for payment was tantamount to committing a grave crime—Giuliani would be totally frustrated if he was driving a car in Lima, Chiclayo or any other city where many youths do just that to make a living or subsidize the low incomes of their parents. Giuliani never asked why the men would spray a windshield and afterwards request payment; Giuliani saw it only as extortion and a terrorist threat against those who could afford cars.]

Jaywalking hazards and Giuliani wants it regulated like a crime

My belief was that treating small crimes was a way to establish lawful, civil behavior & a feeling of safety. The police chief said we lacked a legal basis to move them as long as they were not threatening drivers or demanding money. I said, how about that they are jaywalking. When they stepped off the curb they violated the law. Then, in giving them tickets, you could investigate whether there were outstanding warrants & so on.

In under a month, we reduced the problem dramatically. New Yorkers loved it & so did all the visitors who brought money into the city

Homeless in NYC (Guiliani was mayor 1994-2000)On November 20, 1999, Giuliani went after the homeless after one deranged man attacked a woman on the street, seeking money (Source: http://www.nytimes.com/1999/11/20/nyregion/in-wake-of-attack-giuliani-cracks-down-on-homeless.html?ref=newyorkcivillibertiesunion).

In New York City.

  • Every night more than 40,000 people–including more than 16,000 children–are homeless and must sleep on the streets of New York City.
  • Currently 39,000 homeles men, women, and children bed down each night in municipal homeless shelters, and thousands more “rough it out” and sleep on the streets or in other forms of shelters, such as cardboard boxes.
  • Each year, more than 113,000 different homeless New Yorkers, including nearly 43,000 children, sleep in the municipal shelter system that is denounce regularly by Republican candidates for office.
  • The number of homeless families has doubled over the past decade, and did not decrease when Rudy Giuliani was mayor.

Homeless in winter in New York City when Giuliani was mayor

In January 2000, on one of the coldest nights of the winter in recorded New York City weather history, New York City police officers with badges began pulling sleeping homeless out of bed, dazed and destitute and putting handcuffs on them after one homeless and mentally ill man suffering schizophrenia pushed a woman into the path of a subway train after being refused change for coffee (http://www.nytimes.com/1999/11/20/nyregion/in-wake-of-attack-giuliani-cracks-down-on-homeless.html?ref=newyorkcivillibertiesunion). They were being arrested for failing to appear in court in the distant past to answer for such heinous crimes as public urination, sleeping in the subway, and begging for food in public (Source: Source: America‘s Mayor, America‘s President?, p. xvii & 55 May 2, 2007 ). 149 homeless were arrested. At City Hall Giuliani was ecstatic. “These are quality of life crimes,” he exulted.  Most of those arrested were not only homeless and with nowhere to go, but had afflictions, such as mental illness and substance abuse, common to those who end up on the street. When a New York Times article recounted the arrests, the mayor exploded. “There’s no way immunity in the law that says if you are homeless, you then get away with committing a crime,” Giuliani said. “You can ignore the problem and say, ‘Gee, I’m such a big, fuzzy-headed liberal that I’m going to walk away from it.’ That’s NYC in the 1980s. That’s New York City with 2000 murders.”  (cp. http://www.villagevoice.com/2000-03-07/news/giuliani-justice/1/) This was a repeated action on February 28, 2000, which brought a letter of praise from Perú dictator Alberto Fujimori.

Like Keiko Fujimori who believes in a police state, patterned after her father’s secretive work with chief spy Vladimiro Montesinos who organized massive slaughters from the Barrios Altos to La Cantuta University, Giuliani’s only initial success was adding a few more police officers in 1994 to the New York Police Department—that rode rampant over the human and civil rights of Blacks and Latinos, and were seldom brought to court or faced justice.  Only later does Giuliani add (or recognize) the housing and transit police to his later tally–that added close to 7,100 officers to the New York City Police Department’s rolls—to control and extort money from the poor, the minorities (especially Blacks and Latinos), etc.  Like Keiko Fujimori, Giuliani distorts by expanding the numbers:  Giuliani claimed that the number of New York Police Department officers when he took office was 28,000.  That is inaccurate, to state it kindly, but a lie in reality.

NYC Police Statistics (Giuliani mayor 1994-2000)

When Giuliani took office the New York Police Department numbered 29,450. That means that when the lying New York Mayor Giuliani left office there was only an increase of 3,660, or about 10%–Giuliani did not add an additional 12,000 police officers in his tenure as New York City Mayor.  When arguing about the increase of 3,660 new police officers, it discounts the number of police officers who quit after Giuliani became mayor, thus making the tragedy even harder. The truth is that “The rank-and-file police officers dislike Giuliani because of the economic issue; they felt they were the heroes of his administration–they dealt with the issue of crime; they saved lives–but Giuliani’s position was: give them zero. They were not given raises; they were not treated fairly. If you speak to the rank-and-file police officer, you will find out that there is no love affair.” Another police spokesperson added, “[T]he cops, to a person, despise him today for building his career on their backs and becoming a law-and-order mayor, and never taking care of the people who did the work. He was behind us publicly. When he came into office, crime was at a peak [and Giuliani reduced crime]. But before he was elected, we were among the highest-paid police officers in the nation. We got a 5-year contract under Giuliani with 2 years of no raises. We’re starting to see the impact now: they can’t get enough recruits and they’ve had to lower the standards to hire. (Source: Flawed or Flawless, by Deborah & Gerald Strober, p.165-166 Jan 16, 2007.)

Fujimori at Japanese embassy in Lima

Giuliani likes to portray all New York City police as law-abiding, honorable citizens who would never deliberately use force unless the situation required it.  That, too, is a lie similar to Fujimori’s claim that those who took over the Japanese embassy and surrendered to the police had to be executed.  On Aug. 9 1997, a melee occurred outside a club in Brooklyn, a bar frequented by Haitian [Black] immigrants. Police officer Justin Volpe was kicked in the head. Angered, he grabbed Abner Louima, a 30-year-old bystander, and arrested him for assault & disorderly conduct. The rest is history.

Abner Louima

[The sexual brutalization of Louima where he was repeatedly sodomized by Police Officer John Volpe while threatening to kill Louima using police batons.  Volpe admitted his crime in an open court (Source: CNN News. (1999.) “30-year sentence for N.Y. policeman in torture of black man”. CNN.com.)

NYC police who sodomized and tortured Abner Louima

This attack on Louima occurred in the precinct’s bathroom and would come to be regarded as one of the most notorious episodes of police brutality ever recorded (Source: Amnesty International. (2000.) “Take a Step to Stamp Out Torture”, and Amnesty International. (1998.) “AI Report 1998: United States of America” Amnesty.org. Amnesty International records the act as follows, taming it down for public reading: “). Giuliani was quoted in Newsweek in 1999 about the case, saying “I think brutality happens, but in the late 1990s it’s an aberration.” Newsweek makes the incident more palatable by claiming that the attack occurred once: “Late one night in August 1997, Louima was arrested, handcuffed, beaten and dragged into the bathroom of a Brooklyn precinct house. There a swaggering, powerfully built officer named Justin Volpe shoved a broken-off broom handle up Louima’s rectum, then waved the feces-covered stick under his nose and threatened to kill him if he ever told anyone about this excruciatingly painful assault.” The absurdity of Giuliani’s claim, heralded and championed by Keiko Fujimori is proven false by a full investigation, as published by Newsweek:

Police Officer Justin Volpe

But a spate of high-profile incidents suggests that even good cops can overreact, damaging relations between police departments and the mostly minority communities they serve. Within hours of Volpe’s guilty plea, an unarmed 16-year-old Bronx youth, Dante Johnson, was shot and seriously wounded by a member of the New York Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.  In both instances these crimes were hate crimes–before hate crimes were illegal and justified by the Westboro Baptist church of Kansas, and so frequently not prosecuted (never under Giuliani’s tenure as mayor of New York City) and sometimes not even mentioned in the local media (radio, television, newspapers, and so forth) as racism has long played a role in New York City politics and among non-Black and non-Latino police forces and even within the New York fire department. Volpe was not a unique racist.

Amadou Diallo (1975-1999)

The Street Crimes Unit was also involved in the February death of Amadou Diallo, a 22-year-old African immigrant who was shot 19 times despite the fact that he was unarmed and had no criminal record. In Riverside, Calif., the FBI is investigating the death of 19-year-old Tyisha Miller, who was shot 12 times by four white officers while passed out in her car, with a gun in her lap, last Dec. 28. In Los Angeles, a 54-year-old black woman, Margaret Mitchell, was shot to death on May 21 by a Los Angeles Police Department officer. Mitchell, who was mentally ill, apparently lunged at the cop with a screwdriver–but she was only 5 feet 1, and the officer had his partner as a backup. “What’s frightening to me is the lack of evident interest in attacking the problem,” said Harvard Law professor Christopher Edley Jr., a member of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. The commission, which previously reviewed police conduct in Los Angeles, held hearings in New York last week.

Concerning the Diallo murder, Giuliani stated: “With regards to the Diallo verdict, Giuliani said, “If police officers act in the line of duty to protect a community against violent criminals and drug dealers, then that the community should stand up and support them when police officers’ lives are put in jeopardy.” Although Mr. Giuliani was asked several times how he could answer concerns in the neighborhood about police brutality, he did not directly answer. (Source: New York Times, Page A-23 Mar 3, 2000.)

Al Sharpton opined, “There was a tone. And the fact that something so vicious could be done in a police station with other officers there has to give you an idea of the mentality that the police must have had at that time, that they could get away with it. He did this in the precinct and no one turned him in, no one stopped him, no one made a move. And that’s frightening.” (Source: Flawed or Flawless, by Deborah & Gerald Strober, p.177-178 Jan 16, 2007.)

Racial tensions increased dramatically when Giuliani was mayor of New York City. In March 2000, there was a fatal police shooting in New York City of a black man named Patrick Dorismond that underscored the Mayor’s political vulnerabilities (read: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2000/mar2000/nyc-m22.shtml).  Giuliani’s mishandling of this tragic case inflamed old hostilities between his office and the city’s minority populations.

Giuliani exacerbated the crisis when a calm and reassuring tone was needed. Citizens in many neighborhoods, especially minority ones, felt that the police under the Mayor’s leadership could not be trusted as Giuliani did nothing to discipline the police and took a cavalier attitude toward the assassination. The minority communities’ wariness was fed by well-known cases like the shooting of Amadou Diallo in the Bronx the year before. When Giuliani released Dorismond’s sealed juvenile records, casting aspersions on a man who was dead, he merely drove the wedge deeper and intensified the distrust.

Giuliani’s handling of the Dorismond case was wrong. Instead of easing the tensions and uniting the city, he had poured salt into the wound. “New York has a real problem, and we all know it,” I [Hillary Rodham Clinton] said. “All of us, it seems except for the Mayor.” Source: Source: Living History, by Hillary Rodham Clinton, p.514 Nov 1, 2003.)

While hiring 10% more police officer (Giuliani exaggerates the percentage and claims it was 12%) and 12.8 percent more teachers, he worked against other working, unionized, groups as Giuliani sliced municipal manpower elsewhere by 17.2 percent, from 117,494 workers in 1993 to 97,338 in 2001.  Giuliani scrapped the city’s 20 percent set-asides for minority- and female-owned contractors, and a 10 percent price premium that such companies could charge above the bids of white, male competitors.

Rudy Giuliani’s lies even about himself and his family on the issue of crime. This is equal to the way that Keiko Fujimori is working hard to have the people of Perú forget about her dictator father’s sordid past, his flight to Japan to run for the Japanese Senate or about her own delinquency in Perú’s Congress, or her brother Kenji’s rather unique experiences.

Drag Queen NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani before advising Keiko Fujimori

For years the former New York City mayor declared that the Giulianis were a law-abidding and dedicatedly closes Christian family. The truth is opposite of what the New York mayor told the people of New York City, although he did appear in “drag” (a cross-dresser) in women’s clothing.

The darkest details of [Rudy’s father] Harold Giuliani’s past did not fully emerge until 2000 when investigative reporter Wayne Barrett unearthed that he had been arrested in 1934–ten years before his only son’s birth–for robbing a milkman of $129 at gunpoint. Harold pled guilty and spent 16 months at Sing-Sing. Rudy Giuliani had four uncles who were police officers and a fifth who was a firefighter. But Harold was not the only family member who had ended up on the wrong side of the law. Harold’s brother-in-law was a Brooklyn loan shark. Harold worked as Leo’s muscle, collecting as much as $15,000 a week. (Source: Source: America‘s Mayor, America‘s President?, p. 3 & 56 May 2, 2007)

Giuliani responded to the revelation [in Barrett’s biography] by saying that he did not know anything about the matter. There was, however, another case involving Harold that Rudy surely was aware of. As a teenager, Giuliani was with his father during a peculiar episode in a park restroom that resulted in Harold’s arrest for “loitering” while others noted that what happened was “sexual solicitation” but whether it was the father soliciting sex with another man for himself or with his son is not been stated or printed. The charge was dismissed.

To add to Giuliani’s lies, matching those of would-be future dictator Keiko Fujimori of Perú, was among the spurious and outrages lies that he funded the salaries of additional New York City police. The funding for additional police in New York City came under the auspices of the Bill Clinton’s COPS program that gave New York City enough money to cover the first $25,000 of the salaries of about 3,500 new officers from 1997 to 2000 [i.e. almost all of the new New York Police Department hires were paid for by the federal government as Rudy Giuliani, like nearly all Republicans and Fujimoristas, was against federal government involvement in state mayors, and like the erstwhile Republican governors of Texas, Wisconsin, New Jersey, etc. refused to accept federal assistance to control crime, assist the handicap, provide food to the poor (save at election time when they, like Keiko Fujimori, would buy votes by giving out cheap food (with Keiko, the food given the poor was rice)].  (Source: FactCheck.org: AdWatch of 2007 campaign websites Oct 9, 2007.)

Rudy Giuliani’s attitude toward the poor of New York, matches Keiko Fujimori’s attitude toward the poor in Perú—they are important when there is a vote to be cast. Giuliani’s policies toward the poor were particularly uncaring and cynical. If many people of color saw their rights violated by the police, no doubt many were happy to live in a safer city, or as Giuliani put it with typical delicacy when asked by a Washington Post reporter what he had done for minorities, “They’re alive. How about we start with that?” )Source: America‘s Mayor, America‘s President?, by R. Polner, p.170 May 2, 2007)

Those who differed with him were “idiotic” or “crazy” or “jerky” or “childish” or “perverse” or “whining” or “pathetic” or “hysterical” or “belonging in a psychiatric ward.” His comments concerned matters large and small, and were directed at large segments of the community as well as at individuals. When asked to defend his administration’s record on minorities, he replied: “They’re alive, how about we start with that?” When a caller to his radio show complained about a ban on keeping ferrets as pets, he replied: “There is something deranged about you . . . I know you feel insulted by that, but I am being honest with you. This excessive concern with little weasels is a sickness.”

Bess Myerson

Like Keiko and Kenji Fujimori, Rudy Giuliani would go to any lengths to win. While a USA Attorney US Giuliani would go to bizarre lengths in pursuit of a conviction.  One case was especially gruesome but Giuliani posited it would help in his political career. It developed in his prosecution in the late 1980s of Bess Myerson, a former Miss America, TV personality, and city official, on bribery and mail fraud charges. Rudy took advantage of a mentally troubled woman, Sukhreet Gabel, choosing her as one of his witnesses against her own mother, Judge Hortense Gabel who had spoken out against the Gestapo tactics of Giuliani and who had figured in Myerson’s attempt to have her then lover’s alimony payments to his ex-wife reduced.

Sukhreet Gabel and her mother Judge Hortense Gabel

Rudy had clearly overreached in pitting a daughter against her own mother, and both Myerson and Judge Gabel were acquitted. Myerson went on record as noting, “Rudy had been told this is an unwinnable case. Clearly, their strategy was to throw me to the wolves. I never met Rudy; though I knew he was heavily involved. It was one of his pet projects because he wanted to run for mayor and what could be better than bringing down a judge, a Mafia contractor, and Miss America, Koch’s “girlfriend,” in one swoop? “Source: Flawed or Flawless, by Deborah & Gerald Strober, p. 56 Jan 16, 2007

The lie that Rudy Giuliani cut taxes

Giuliani: “He cut taxes 9 billion.” But to arrive at the $9 billion figure Giuliani takes credit for the passage of 23 tax cuts. The taxes that were cut were those that hurt the poor and especially the Middle Class, while profiting the rich and super-rich, thus endearing him to the most scrupulous and underhanded families in the USA: the Koch Brothers (one lives in New York City, the other in Kansas) who are numbered in the to ten of the world’s worse polluters, dumping chemical waste from their Georgia-Pacific paper mills into the once-clear waters of the State of Arkansas, and darkening the skies over their various other factories throughout the USA and elsewhere.  But Rudy considers them friends, and they applaud his lack of conscience and truth, as eight of those were state tax cuts approved in Albany and a ninth was a tax reduction Giuliani vociferously opposed before agreeing to side with the city council on the matter for political reasons (see: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/giulianis_tax_puffery.html). Taking away those tax cuts, Giuliani can justifiably claim credit for lowering taxes by $5.4 billion, or $8 billion if he’s allowed credit for the big cut he lobbied against (see: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2007/07/29/2007-07-29_critics_say_rudy_didnt_make_as_many_cuts.html).

Significant segments of the New York City community found Giuliani’s remarks anything but laughable or excusable. They came to see the Mayor not merely as a political adversary but as an enemy. Many were deeply ambivalent, at best. “Giuliani is a tragic figure,” Michael Grunwald wrote in a generally admiring article in The New Republic, “an effective administrator whose personal flaws have kept him from greatness, a strong leader whose accomplishments have been overshadowed by his passion for confrontation.”

Giuliani saw immigration, especially of Latinos, and terrorism in tandem. “In an era of a War on Terrorism,” he said April 25, “how do we create more security?” Giuliani worried law-enforcement officers will be so busy handling “a system that’s already unenforceable” that they won’t “focus on the people [Latinos] that we have to focus on who… [Mexicans and other Latinos] might come here to carry out terrorist acts or to sell drugs or to commit crimes.” He wants tighter U.S. borders and high-tech identification for immigrants (see: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/299089/giuliani_considered_prejudicial_against.html?cat=62).

Giuliani’s lies about health care are overwhelming as are his numerous other lies (Source: http://whitehouser.com/elections/rudy-giuliani-public-relations-nightmare/).  Giuliani is on record as having said: “My chance of surviving prostate cancer — and thank God I was cured of it — in the United States? Eighty-two percent,” says Rudy Giuliani in a new radio ad attacking Democratic plans for universal health care. “My chances of surviving prostate cancer in England? Only 44 percent, under socialized medicine.” Paul Krugman of the New York Times exposed this bold-faced lie and chastised Rudy Giuliani for lying about his prospects of surviving cancer.

Let’s start with the facts: Mr. Giuliani’s claim is wrong on multiple levels—bogus numbers wrapped in an invalid comparison embedded in a smear.

Mr. Giuliani got his numbers from a recent article in City Journal, a publication of the conservative Manhattan Institute. The author gave no source for his numbers on five-year survival rates — the probability that someone diagnosed with prostate cancer would still be alive five years after the diagnosis. And they’re just wrong.

You see, the actual survival rate in Britain is 74.4 percent. That still looks a bit lower than the U.S. rate, but the difference turns out to be mainly a statistical illusion. The details are technical, but the bottom line is that a man’s chance of dying from prostate cancer is about the same in Britain as it is in America.

As a fact-check in The Washington Post put it: “The Clinton health care plan” — which is very similar to the Edwards and Obama plans — “has more in common with the Massachusetts plan signed into law by Gov. Mitt Romney than the British National Health system.” Of course, this hasn’t stopped Mr. Romney from making similar smears, [but the former Massachusetts governor has never been known to be totally honest about anything].

At one level, what Mr. Giuliani and Mr. Romney are doing here is engaging in time-honored scare tactics. For generations, conservatives have denounced every attempt to ensure that Americans receive needed health care, from Medicare to S-chip, as “socialized medicine.”

Part of the strategy has always involved claiming that health reform is suspect because it’s un-American, and exaggerating health care problems in other countries — usually on the basis of unsubstantiated anecdotes or fraudulent statistics. Opponents of reform also make a practice of lumping all forms of government intervention together, pretending that having the government pay some health care bills is just the same as having the government take over the whole health care system.

This isn’t the first time Rudy Giuliani has been called out by New Yorkers, by now I’m sure everyone has read or heard about the NY Fire Department Union that wants nothing to do with Rudy Giuliani (Sources: http://crooksandliars.com/2007/07/11/firefighters-go-after-rudy-giuliani-with-new-video/ and http://whitehouser.com/politics/rudy-giuliani-election-chances/).

Now others are calling him out for exaggerating or misstating facts in order to knock out adversaries and enhance his chances at being nominated for the GOP primary and potentially the U.S. Presidency.  Buy becoming an “advisor” to Keiko (as he was to Alberto), Giuliani can replenish his war chest for a new campaign and further deplete the respectability of the USA and make law enforcement a joke and security an illusion.

Giuliani, like one-time/part-time Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, has never told the truth, have no concept of USA history or USA political science and government, and are perfect matches for the undereducated Keiko Fujimori who has never worked one day in her life and has missed 400 days of legislative sessions in the Congress of Perú in Lima. Keiko’s record of work in the Lima Congress has never been stellar; her introduction of important legislation does not exist.  Keiko Fujimori will be a disaster and she will destroy what little chance Perú has for advancement in education, industry, trade, and respect in the world, for she will be another Alberto Fujimori: a terrorist, dictator, liar, disgrace to Perú and increase poverty, hunger, and further lower education standards.

Paititi and Fujimori corruption, theft and murder in Perú

Corruption has always been a part of the history of Perú (Quiroz, Alfonso W. (2008). Corrupt Circles: A History of Unbound Graft in Peru. Washington, C: Woodrow Wilson Center Press; Baltimore, MD: Johns Hopkins University Press, c2008) as it has in all nations. While corruption has always been a part of the history of Perú, it has never been more blatant, more vile and vulgar, and extremist than the torturous, treasonous days of Alberto Fujimori and his daughter Keiko Sophia Fujimori who amalgamated and absquatulated the peculated reign of terror of the most fanatical Fujimoristas in the National Congress of Perú.

Keiko Fujimori buying votes with food to be president (May 2011)

In Perú, a desperate Keiko Fujimori openly attempted to buy votes in exchange for food.  The poor welcomed it, but it was only the tip of the iceberg of fraud and theft that has been common in nearly every election in Perú, and was most common during the political career of her disgraced father, the former dictator Alberto Fujimori.  Buying votes is the least of the crimes Keiko Sophia Fujimori has committed against the people and nation of Perú (http://www.diario16.pe/noticia/4562-keiko-fujimori-reparte-comida-entre-los-pobres-a-cambio-de-votos).

Herbert Mujica Rojas

Herbert Mujica Rojas (the last name is also written as Mujicarojas for publication purposes) wrote a brief article on the wealth of information seasoned in the scantly printed (there are only 180 copies, a patent paucity in a nation such as Perú where there is a critical need for more) volume El Paí-Titi Padre Otorongo by Juan Carlos Polentini (Editorial Salesiana, Lima).  In his article Mujicarojas (Mujicarojas, Herberto (1999). Kenya y Keiko Fujimori y el robo del oro del Paititi) lauds the pulchritudinous of Father Polentini’s pen, noting that the Salesian priest “meditated, [and] thought deeply,” before he released the manuscript to the printer, hesitating whether to make public what he as afraid to write for it would surprise many in Perú.” For that reason, Polentinin parsed:  “To save the reader from any great discomfort” he  would, “use the fewest words possible and thus avoid any retaliation by those who supported the tyrants of the early twenty-first century.”

Father Polentini patiently, prophetically yet passionately noted: “In the end [he proceeded with the publication even though he] had so many problems in past years because of Paititi (El Paí Titi; for some it was the fabled El Dorado), one more will also give … more flavor to [your] life.”  His words proved true.

Paititi (or Pai titi) Pusharo

The Paititi legend in Perú revolves around the popular story of a culture-hero Inkarri (possibly a corruption of the Spanish for Inka King: Inka-rey), who, after he had founded Q’ero and Qosqo [Spanish: Cuzco], retreated toward the jungles of Pantiacolla to live out the rest of his days in his refuge city of Paititi, which native legends claim Inkarri founded. (Concerning the connection of Inkarrí with “Paititi,” see” “In Search of Paititi: Following the Road of Stone into an Unknown Peru” by Gregory Deyermenjian, in the Spring 2006 issue of The Explorers Journal; and “The Petroglyphs of Pusharo: Peru’s Amazonian Riddle,” by Gregory Deyermenjian, in the Volume 2 Number 3 (2000) issue of Athena Review.)

Francisco Pizarro in Cuzco, Perú and slaughter of the Inkas

In 1533, it is reported, the treasured thief and Spanish conqueror for the Crown, Francisco Pizarro González, Marquess (c. 1471 or 1476 – 26 June 1541) approached the Capital City of the Inkas consumed with an overwhelming, near cannibalizing lust for reputed treasures reported to him by his malodorous and mephitic men who collectively were not only  iniquitous and insidious but nefarious in every way–traits he applauded. Qosqo, the golden city of the Andes, was, the men who had barely disembarked boasted, to have a temple where the walls were covered with more than 700 sheets of solid gold; each sheet, they proclaimed weighed more than 2 kilograms.

Qosqo, the original city of gold, now known as Cusco, held a surprise for the approaching amoral army of Pizarro, for at it’s center was situated the Qoricancha: “The Golden Courtyard”.  It was the Incas most important temple dedicated to their creator God(dess): the Sun, whom the merciless mendicant monks and parasitic priests who journeyed across the ocean’s wide span struggled to get the “naked” natives to believe was a copy of their Son of God.  The story that the theological terrorists who butchered the wives, children and elderly of the Inkas held none of the majesty of the original Inka religion. If bones could scream, a bloodcurdling din would be reverberating through a 500-year-old cemetery in Peru. Human skeletons unearthed there have yielded the first direct evidence of Inca fatalities caused by Spanish conquerors scientists report in the March 23 1010 issue of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology.  The skulls of the multitude of Inkas slaughtered were essentially crushed, repeatedly stabbed or struck, or shot through by gunshot.  One male skull had three small rectangular openings in the back of the head resembling those on skulls from a 1461 battlefield cemetery in England when medieval weapons tipped with steel spikes or sharp beaks caused the deathly wounds by piercing then pulling upward to kill the victim. (http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2010/04/inca-skeletons/).

Inkarri was a zealous and fervent Inka god who lived through the Inka kings, the last one being Atahualpa or Atawallpa (March 20, 1497 Caranqui, Ecuador  – Cajamarca, July 26, 1533), was the last Sapa Inca or sovereign emperor of the Tahuantinsuyu (the official name of  the Inca Empire). When Pizarro and his priests came to carry off plunder, slaves and more, Inkarri through the mouth of Atahualpa reminded the thief from Spain that the god (the Inkas were a heonteistic [καθ’ ἕνα θεόν {kath’ hena theon}] —”one god at a time” people who refused to reject a plurality or even a single god, but worshipped each in time so as to not offend any god that might exist) the Inkas worshipped was more loving than the ones held up to them by priests who preyed upon the people of the mountains while praying over their funeral fires as they became martyrs to Mountain Goddess.

Atahualpa executed at the stake

The words of Inkarri’s Servant (Atahualpa) fell on deaf ears.  The Spanish conquistadores (conquerors) not only continued plundering, raping and murdering, burning sacred forests and pollution holy water that followed in sacred streams, but tortured and executed the last ruler of the Inka people, Atahualpa, who was executed identical to the way Jesus of the New Testament was put to death–at a stake [the cross (crux) was the invention of Justin Martyr, who in the First Century only used Latin, and who was read only in the west; in the East and in the original scrolls those who were learned and carried out the publication of what would ultimately become the New Testament used Greek and the word σταυρός (or stake) as it is still used in the East (Greek Orthodoxy).  When the similarity became apparent to a few, it intensified Spanish attacks on the Inkas and led to the Spaniard’s use of garrote (Latin: laqueus) which had been used in Rome in the first century BCE, and when the Christian Church was officially created by the Emperor Constantine in the Fourth Century CE, became the favored means of execution of heretics.

Garrote became extremely popular in medieval Spain and was used to strangle the Inka leader as he was being martyred. Atahualpa’s final breath was etched into history, for the Spaniards feared the similarity between the last King of Inkas since his prophesied death and resurrection was too close to that of the New Testament Jesus, Inkarri (a name that can be traced back

Inkarri as a savior god in ancient Egypt

to ancient Egypt and Tibet, in both cases becoming a saviour god who was killed but promised to rise up after three days and ascend into the heaves from which he would come to rule in time) vowed that he would come back one day to avenge the death of the great leader.  There are pictographs in caves in the Andes that show prototheological ideas, including the resurrection of a mortal and the ultimate embrace of a deity with the mortal, indicating a concept of life after death.  What made the Inka theology unique, and in many ways superior to the message minced by missionaries sailing with Pizarro’s pandering protagonists is that in Inka theology a god can exist in many forms at the same time and that any mortal offering worship or praise using different names for the deity does not imply polytheism, but shows a greater a sophisticated version of monotheism in that it allows the worshiper to believe in essentially one Supreme Being while still appreciating and not limiting the names, expressions, or manifestations used to describe the deity.  At the same time, the worship was neither regulated nor regimented but more open–although the Inka King was the ultimate authority who was seen as the Supreme Earthly Father, much as the Pope in Rome.

The Spaniards feared popular reaction for the world had settled under a suffocating mantle that was an epoch where what the Spaniards considered superstition was true theology to the Inkas and it held firm that their beloved king had died but would rise again and ascend into heave and rule justly all people and animals that worked in harmony with the planet.  To avoid the possible resurrection of Inkarri, the Spaniards buried this Lord’s body parts in several places around the Inka kingdom: his head was buried under what would become the presidential palace in Lima, his arms buried under the Waqaypata (Square of Tears) in Cuzco, and his legs in the soil of Ayacucho. Before his body was cut into pieces, a common torture in that day, Atahualpa Inkarri promised he would rise up one day, his body revitalized and whole (in a manner similar to that of Osiris of ancient Egypt), and he would take back his kingdom and restore peace between Pachamama (goddess of the earth) and her sons (the people who lived in harmony with the earth).  Because his voice carried over the carnage and screams of those being persecuted, the Inkas were attacked with greater zeal under Pizarro’s orders that as many Inkas be killed as was possible in one day.

Pizarro in Cusco, Perú before his slaughter of the Inkas

The execution of Inka warriors allowed Pizarro to carry out his poisoned plans. It has been written that tons of Inka gold were melted down by the Conquistadors within a month of the sacking of Cusco. These innumerable tons had strange destinies, although some claim that most of the gold that was sent back to Spain was lost at sea; the true resting place is unknown and the veracity of each story unverifiable.

What can be assumed is that much of the native god was lost or sank to the bottom of the Atlantic due to Spain’s numerous naval battles with their England and other continental rivals.  All that remains are stories of immense wealth.  These accounts were viewed as fables, yet they encouraged other bounty hunters and tomb raiders to seek out and plunder Perú, and especially the area of Cuzco.  The destiny for most of these thieves, the majority speaking Castellano Spanish, however, was the fabled city of Paititi.

Paititi in the Andes

Paititi was  much like the legendary El Dorado—the city of gold.  There is no proof that it was ever found, but numerous explorers tried to find it and rob it of its wealth. Most perished, many being killed by natives, others dying of tropical diseases, and some even being sacrificed to the gods mourning the death of the last Inka king.  El Dorado remained a lost city, which, to many  was a utopian city of unheralded riches that would remain until the last Inka king rose from his grave to rule over the world.

Paititi Treasures of ancient Inkas

It was claimed by storytellers and fortune hunters that the treasure lies east of the Andes, hidden somewhere within the remote rain forests of southeast Perú, northern Bolivia or southwest Brazil. Instead of finding the gold easily, as many explorers and gold-seekers believed would be their destiny, they learned that the prophesy that there would be streets paved with gold leading to a New World Gan Eden–a paradise for the fortunate and the elect of heaven–was not to be realized in their lifetime.

No streets paved with gold were found anywhere in the Andes.  Instead, a large city was discovered in 1600 by the mercenary butcher who had taken Holy Orders: the Jesuit missionary Andres Lopez who described a metropolitan area rich in gold, silver and jewels, located in the middle of the tropical jungle called Paititi by the natives (see:  Juan Carlos Polentini Wester  (1979). Por la Rutas del Paititi; and Juan Carlos Polentini Wester (1999). El Paí Titi. Lima, Perú : Asociación Librería Editorial Salesiana on OCLC 43562342 at http://www.worldcat.org/title/pai-titi/oclc/43562342.  Polentini Wester, an Argentinian Salesian priest and explorer.  He was

Deyermenjian lead the 1991 expedition

followed in 2008, by American psychologist-explorer Gregory Deyermenjian {see:  “In Search of Paititi: Following the Road of Stone into an Unknown Peru” by Gregory Deyermenjian, in the Spring 2006 issue of The Explorers Journal; and “The Petroglyphs of Pusharo: Peru’s Amazonian Riddle,” by Gregory Deyermenjian, in the Volume 2 Number 3 (2000) issue of Athena Review.} and the Peruvian frontiersman, cartographer and explorer Paulino Mamani {see: http://www.paititi.com/search-for-paititi.html and http://www.paititi.com/index.html for index}).

Father Polentini noted, in his book “The Paititi has been a weight [for me to think and write about…”  His primary fear was that the treasures would be stolen for personal gain, and that a new group of thieves would ruin what was left of the Inka Empire and its history and culture.

Juan Carlos Polentini Wester

Polentini, realizing the importance of his project and discovery, and recognizing that it sparked little interest among powerful Peruanos, was crestfallen. He wrote: ” that many times I wanted to … abandon my project,” and came close to doing so because his peers had made it “so warped and vilified, mocked and ignored requiring me to do something to bring it to light for the sake of Perú, and make amends [for the sins, transgressions, and murders of those who came to Perú that he found inward” security that gave me [the] confidence [to proceed with his work].  Alas, he noted: “Unfortunately I did not find support and understanding by organizations and individuals relevant to the subject. Instead I found teasing, criticism, insults, slander, lawsuits, greed, personal interest, deception, desires of easy wealth, and another worse. I thank the few who have accepted and helped me (Agradezco a los pocos [italics for emphasis are mine] que sí me han aceptado y colaborado).” When Father Polentini mentioned his find, and his thoughts on what Perú had as a hidden history to the then-current president, Dictator Alberto Fujimori, Fujimori said nothing at first.

Keiko and Alberto Fujimori and the gold of Pai-titi

No promises were made. Alberto had to consult with his daughter who was the First Lady of Perú and his chief spy who had determined that life was so cheap than any dissenter could be dispatched without notice or judicial review, as Fujimori had suspended all basic human rights and civil liberties in Perú and was determined on autocratic self-rule with himself and his children as the authorities in Perú.Vladimiro Montesinos chief spy of Perú would be one Fujimori could lean on and consult on this matter.

"La Republica" coverage of La Cantuta massacre by Fujimori

Polentini mourned  his hesitancy and even considered his conversation with the Perú dictator a grave act (one he considered a sin) as Fujimori, who with all pretended prudence consulted another priest who was no friend of Paititi or the history of Perú and opposed to Polentini that he questioned “Polentini and his cronies are a collection of looters?” To this the Father knew that the response was a “mortal sin [and aggravated libel].”

Alberto Fujimori was no better than his venal children, odiously opportunistic, seeking an empire of their own in the rays of the sun where the once legendary Inkarri stood, and all leagued tight with Vladimiro Montesinos, chief spy of the Fujimori government as Montesinos provided the Fujimori children with wealth (for which reason, Alberto paid Montesinos $15 million from the Perú treasury as “a gift from the people of Perú” where Montesinos remains hailed as a hero for executing members of The Shining Path (a Maoist group) who wanted to redistribute the land to the poor and better their lot in life.

Vladimiro Montesinos and Alberto Fujimori

Polentini continued with his exposition which is the soul and substance of his limited edition, a book that should have been widely distributed not only throughout Perú but also throughout the world. This report, when it was released “was the cause of all the disaster that followed” the priest opined. Previously, no one had succeeded in his or her quest to find the fabled city of extraordinary riches and unimagined wealth. Most fortune hunters died during their expeditions, leaving token records at best of their journeys and the fables the locals told of El Dorado.

While others were looking for immediate wealth, the priest wanted to seek out something so serious and so sacrosanct, that promised more than great riches from an unknown time, clime, and civilization hidden from history until recently, that should its wealth come to light there would be rush for it and a grab for power far worse than anything that Perú experienced under the Spaniards and of those who mined gold in rivers in California–it would give Perú a new identity and demonstrate one of the many peaks in Perú history and its advanced civilization.

It became an eternal quest to find the legendary city and its gold to show the world (especially in museums in Perú and others that would show that Perú had a growing history before Pizarro) the grandeur that was once Perú.  Only late in life did he get the verbal support and encouragement of one president–Alberto Fujimori–and his daughter Keiko Sophia Fujimori and a son, Kenji (Kenya) who aspired to political office as a way to enrich himself at the expenses of the people. They were as corrupt and greedy as their father.

Keiko and Kenji Fujimori campaigning for seats in Congress

Keiko Sophia Fujimori’s history was written in the sinews of greed and signed in blood her father would extract from Perú students. Education was a goal but not in the schools of Perú, for Alberto determined that his daughter would study in the USA and earn a degree there–a degree that had more value and required higher standards than any degree in Perú or any of its ancient universities or the plethora of new universities that Albert authorized while dictator.  The main difference being not only in resources (Perú’s libraries are small in comparison to those at academic centers in the USA or Europe, and in Perú the law only requires a “professor” to have obtained a Master degree, where in the USA it is imperative to have the doctorate, and to stay on faculty publications are required, whereas few professors in Perú have written anything and what has been written has not undergone peer review and what is written is weak and frequently is self-published; there has only been one Vargas Llosa).

Keiko Fujimori's mother Susana (who is a Congresswoman in Perú)

Keiko’s own mother, Congresswoman Susana Shizuko Higuchi Miyagawa (born April 26, 1960) who was divorced from Alberto Fujimori after repeated physical assaults and increasing mental pressure from her husband and children has described her daughter ” [she appears as an] angel to outsiders, but for me she has devil’s face” (“Tiene angel para la gente de afuera, pero para mi tiene cara de diablo. Son intimidates…”.  See: “El dia que todo cambío” as a part of “Dolor de madre” in El Popular 8 May 2011, p. 4) and is a replica of deceit and self-aggrandizement.

On four separate occasions Polentini, an Argentinian Salesian priest, sent Alberto Fujimori documentation indicating exactly where the famed city of Inkarri was located. Once, Polentini wrote, he actually placed a letter detailing the location of the Sacred Valley of the Inkas: Calca, into the hands of Fujimori.  Later, lamentably, Polentini realized his grave mistake.

Calca, Perú

Alberto Fujimori read the letter, and given his custom of sharing messages with his children, it is most likely that Keiko and Kenya (Kenji) also read the priest’s petition and noted the exact location of “unbelievable wealth”. After reading the letter from the Salesian priest, the Perú dictator questioned Polentini, what should be done and when it was possible to execute a plan.

Polentini responded that Calca (one of the thirteen provinces in the Cusco region in the southern highlands of Perú) was the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, attempting to give the Dictator a basic history lesson on the country he ruled with an iron fist (as seen in Fujimori’s massacre of a university professor and nine students from Lima’s La Cantuta University [actually: National University of Education Enrique Guzmán y Valle (Spanish: Universidad Nacional de Educación Enrique Guzmán y Valle)] who were abducted by a military death squad and “disappeared”, took place in Peru on 18 July 1992.

La Cantuta massacre approved by Fujimori and executed by Perú's military

The military (Grupo Colina) were later pardoned as the Attorney General blocked the participation of world-renowned foreign forensic and anthropologists, sent at the request of Amnesty International, a few days after the finding of the remains, precisely, at the most suitable moment to examine and identify them; http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5hIhZGtOSjyj116LqTjR…  which was common practice by the corrupt military who followed the Dictator for money and “glory”–leading even to attacks on barrios, such as the Barrios Altos).

Marcha Barrios Altos after the Perú military executed a 15 year-old boy

Fujimori had little to say about the massacres, and nothing to comment on when it was reported that even small children were slaughtered. Keiko was as silent as the grave when the bodies of her perceived enemies were carried away like disposable kindling wood and continued not to speak out as First Lady, for her loyalty was with her father and the family enrichment.

Barretomariela Barrios Altos massacres commissioned by Fujimori

The Fujimoris did not respond, but three years after their meeting Mujicarojas,  Polentini  learned that the Peruvian usurper had consulted another, less scrupulous priest who would go on to strip the ancient treasure for his own enrichment and that of the Fujimoris as a family of greedy, self-serving, unproductive people would do nothing to help Perú but only strip it of its wealth which he feared would be shipped to Japan which remained the motherland in the hearts of the Fujimoris who never cared for Perú. Polentini wrote:

In 1996[,] I left Cusco and [moved to] Lima [to] the Hermanitas de los Ancianos Desamparados [Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly].  I had no one to help me. I was given refuge and asylum in the Hogar de Ancianos de la Avenida Brasil  [Nursing Home on Brasil Avenue], where I continue [to live in] my old age.

The year 1998[, a senior official from the Discovery Channel] was presented [introduced] to me in this nursing [home] … [with an interest] to make [a documentary of my] … discovery of Paititi with all the details as they can do. Of course I accepted, [and] I left the gift of a television, …. What [has been] said in the INRENA,  [Instituto Nacional de Recursos Naturales / National Institute of Natural Resources]:  a Machu Pichu organization that INRENA makes approximately 1,600,000 USD per year (www.inrena.gob.pe), INC (National Cultural Institute: Instituto Nacional Culturo), etc. against the priest who never returned [to] Polentini!

Thanks to the support and encouragement of Mrs. María del Carmen Rodríguez del Solar, I published my book on Paititi in June 1999  (Polentini Wester, Juan Carlos (1999)  Father Otorongo: Black Jaguar [author of the books “Por la Rutas del Paititi” {1979} the 191 pages volume was surpressed by the Fujimoris, and is only found in Switzerland at the RomeroHaus as found in the Bibliothekskatalog IDS Luzern at www.worldcat.org; and El Paí Titi ¡Padre Otorongo! {1999}, a 2002 edition of 141 pages a copy of which is in the PUCP Biblioteca de Ciencias of San Miguel (Lima 32) Peru;). Only 180 copies because no one agreed to cooperate and there was a universal fear of Alberto, Keiko and Kenji Fujimori who were determined to suppress the priest’s tale]. I thought at least that no investigation would be lost. And [it was] not lost. [My book] gave the coordinates of the city, of course with a small error. We will see what happened.

Some of those few books certainly fell into the hands of the famous INS and his boss (Vladimiro Mostesinos [Vladimiro Ilyich Montesinos Torres (born May 20, 1945) was the long-standing head of Peru’s intelligence service, Servicio de Inteligencia Nacional (SIN), under President Alberto Fujimori who kept nothing secret from his daughter/First Lady: Keiko Fujimori.

Perú chief spy Montesinos filmed taking bribes

In 2000, secret videos were televised showing Mostesinos bribing an elected congressman to leave the opposition and join the Fujimorist side of Congress. The Perú Congress was easily bought, and allegiances were not to an elusive and seldom experienced democracy, but to personal enrichment and temporary fame, with legislators changing sides as often as most changed their underwear.  Today, voters in Perú know little about their congressional candidates but elect pseudoleaders based on popularity, thereby accounting for how three soccer stars made it into Congress with no

experience, while Kenji Fujimori, the youngest and least settled of Alberto’s children, has no noticeable solid academic background (he is listed as “an agricultural engineering graduate” as his father was a professor of agriculture, but (like his sister Keiko who never worked one day in her lifetime) has only been prepared to politics to satisfy his own needs. Kenji is a part of FaceBook, LinkedIn (he does not accept comments), and on YouTube. His goal is to support his sister and free his father. His relationship with his mother, another Congresswoman in Lima, is strained, but she has made no public statement about her youngest child as she has about the corruption that is the persona of Keiko Fujimori.

Because of the ensuing scandal, Montesinos fled Perú, and indirectly hastened the resignation of Fujimori. But before the resignation took place, with Alberto Fujimori faxing in his final statement from Japan, Montesino murdered or had murdered thousands of Peruanos who stood in the way of the personal enrichment of the Fujimoris and himself). Subsequent investigations by the Perú government after Fujimori’s fall, midnight flight to Japan to escape Perú justice, and, years later in 2009, attempted return to Perú to resume his dictatorship, it was revealed that Montesinos was at the center of a vast web of illegal activities, including embezzlement, graft, gun-running, and drug trafficking the latter being a way to fast riches and not eschewed by many politicians throughout Perú—especially Fujimoristas who saw the dictator as their way to personal gain and glory.

Chief Internal Spy Montesinos accused of taking bribes (Perú)

Surprisingly, Montesinos was tried, convicted and sentenced for numerous charges despite his close and strong connections with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), of the United States of North America who kept various military forces and paramilitary forces in Perú not only to counterattack narcotraffickers but also those who stood up against the murderous regime of the Fujimoristas and paid, illegally, Montesinos millions of dollars to “erase” (murder) members of the Shining Path. This nefarious international intelligence agency, the CIA, paid Montesinos no less than $10 million out of the government of the USA’s Treasury, being earmarked for covert anti-terrorist activities which allowed for the political assassinations of those the CIA considered to be communists (decades earlier defined by US Senator Joe McCarthy (R-WI) and US Congressman Richard Milhouse Nixon (R-CA) and other corrupt leaders in Congress and advisers to the president (for example, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger paid to have President Salvadore Allende of Chile murdered after former President Richard Nixon demanded Allende’s death claiming “we will never let Chile go down the drain” so convinced that Allende was a communist working against GOP dreams (National Security Archive Electronic Briefing Book No. 255 see: Kissinger recorded a conversation in which the Secretary of State agreed that “we ought, as you say, to cold-bloodedly decide what to do and then do it; but warned it should be done “discreetly so that it doesn’t backfire.” http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB255/index.htm). Kissinger, nor Nixon, ever stood trial for his numerous crimes against humanity;) and another $15 million from Alberto and Keiko Fujimori.  Anthony Faiola, “Army Played ‘A Key Role’ In Departure Of Fujimori, Intelligence Service Scandals Rankled Peruvian Military” (Washington Post September 18, 2000); Jane Holligan, edited by Thane Peterson, “Bribes, Lies, and Videotape in Peru” (Business Week February 2, 2001) at http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/feb2001/nf2001022_371.htm; and “CIA Gave $10 Million to Peru’s Ex-Spymaster” (July 3, 2001) at http://www.alternet.org/story/11131]).

Polentini wrote further:

What follows below is not animated politics, or desires of accusation or condemnation. It’s something that has happened in my life, and I think I must make it public for the sake of Perú, to avoid future false appraisals to assist in the discernment of historical truth, and my own reputation after my death.

Perú military helicopter used for search for lost city of Inkas

By July or August 2000, I read in a Lima newspaper that the former Miss First Lady of Perú [Keiko Sofia Fujimori] was established in the area of the city of Ica, [near] the mountains, that could be accessed only by helicopter [she was on] a farm that produced food only for exportation, and was slow with other needs. I was struck by the news as it seemed ridiculous, but I considered it to be of no importance.

Around the same time [it was reported that there was an army helicopter missing]… it was said [to have crashed while on patrol of] the border with Ecuador, but [that] was denied by the military garrison in the north, and that [the] border patrol did not need [it], [but] they had no helicopter. Quickly the media [would] not talk about it anymore. But the problem does not stop there, as the area is invested [infested]

Victor Quispe, alias 'Jose' and Jose Flores, alias 'Artemio'. Government offers a reward of S/ 1 Million Soles for their capture/ information to help capture.

with poverty and narcoterrorists [composed of small farmers and the destitute; some of whom joined the Shining Path (a Maoist organization]. The poverty, which is deepest and most prolonged, in the remote and impoverished areas of mountain regions and in Lima, where life seldom has meaning and continues to exist in Perú. Poverty is widespread and hits hardest the young, teenagers and young adults to steal to survive. Many of the poor turn to theft, prostitution, and crime.  Children as long as four were commonly seen on Lima streets attempting to sell candy, beg for centavos (pennies) and even offering “favors” (implying sex), while young girls, many still very young, were found easily at bars and discotheques willing to perform any sexual act for a meal or a few soles. Old women were arrested (and after a stern warming allowed to return to their homes) for breaking into the homes of those they thought had more than they, a reality quite common when women posing as evangelistic missionaries today in Chiclayo enter homes of the eldery on poor streets such as Cabrerra Colon, go into homes and pick up objects and claim them to be their own, which they never have been (I learned this by watching such would-be theft in February 2011 on in a house of a poor woman on that street, but the police would do nothing as the police frequently receive(d) payment to look the other way. http://www.zimbio.com/Alberto+Fujimori/articles/N4ROBj3QJ4b/Cocaine+rebels+haunt+Peru+remote+jungle) grow[ing] cocaine to sell with large shares of its revenues being filtered to Montesinos and his spy network through Keiko Sophia Fujimori (http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2009/07/20/fujimori-embezzlement.html; cp. http://www.blythe.org/peru-pcp/newflag/nf9801/news.htm).

Poverty was high during the dictatorship of Alberto Fujimori, but in his final years it climbed rapidly.  Contrary to contemporary (current) belief, that Perú was terrified by narcotrafficking, as the Library of Congress of the USA noted: “Peruvians saw drugs as primarily a United States problem, and the least of their concerns, given the economic crisis, the SL, and the outbreak of cholera”  Fujimori’s coup threatened the entire economic recovery strategy of reinsertion into the Latin community, and more than 6000 Peruvians fled to Chile, denouncing the Fujimori family as heading towards a plutocracy to enrich the Fujimori family. The withdrawal of aid by key members of Peru’s support group made the process of clearing arrears with the IMF virtually impossible and Argentina drew back frigidly from involvement. Despite international condemnation, Fujimori refused to rescind the suspension of constitutional government, and the armed forces reasserted their support for the measures, and the number of poor increased daily in Perú while Alberto groomed his daughter Keiko to succeed him as ruler of Perú (read: http://countrystudies.us/peru/96.htm a USA government publication issued by the USA Library of Congress).

Poverty in Perú (with a focus on poverty under Fujimori)

By mid 2001 I received comments from Lacco Valley, the San Antonio community, which for many months in 2000 had … high altitude helicopters making daily round trip[s], two or three a day [over that area]. … at first the helicopters attracted attention, but then [the people] got used to them [and their daily multiple flights]. Lacco Valley that was part of my parish of Lares, and many times I was there in San Antonio [to fulfill] in response to my pastoral work as pastor.

Crashed helicopter in Perú's drug war

I do not remember the date, but by 2002 a helicopter pilot, of which I can not give more details … [talked with me].  I said that in the circles of drivers [common carriers such as taxis, and other vehicles] commented that in 2000, [Fujimori had] five helicopters filled with the gold of Paititi, leading to [re: flying to] Japan where he spent a voluntary exile. One of the helicopters had fallen [crashed]. Another time someone told me that this operation lasted nine months. And on another occasion that gold had gone from Ica. [On the build up of Perú’s military read: http://www.elcomercio.com.pe/noticia…es-argentina_1] What has not yet been fully investigated is Fujimori’s relationship with (1) Japan where he claimed dual citizenship and expressed a desire to run for the Japanese Senate, (2) Chile where he sought temporary sanctuary to avoid being arrested in Perú, and (3) Argentina which claimed to have some of the Inka gold that, allegedly, Fujimori was demanding that it be returned to Perú as part of Perú’s heritage, but nothing was said during his final days in Perú or when he returned to Perú.

Mantto Inka fresco/painting

In August 2003, two Russian tourists who knew about my book, [inquired about] the Mantto [a group of 22 pyramids that were thought to house the Inka treasury of gold} near Paratoari as a part of Machu Pichu]. I had been there eight years ago so I took them to Mantto. At the top I almost fainted, a little tired, for I was 76 years, and it was difficult for me to rise again, but I did, and was surprised by what I saw.

It was the fruit of the book. I told myself: it’s true what he [the pilot] said who was he carrying, who? Five helicopters [all were military helicopters and part of the purchase Fujimori completed; http://fujimoriontrial.org/?p=309 and no. 4 of http://www.rree.gob.pe/portal/enlaces.nsf/0/fe509ecbfc0f63ee05256e8a005eea73?OpenDocument] stole the gold Paititi? And here in the Mantto region? From what I see?  Here’s the proof. It’s true.

Huaqueado, Perú

Huaqueado was technically good, but looted. An explosion occurred. A rock about eight feet high and one and a half in diameter no longer existed. It been dynamited. Where it had been now appeared the mouth of a well approximately one meter in diameter and filled with [the debris of] rocks destroyed by dynamite. I do not know the depth, but I guess there was a good ton or more. There was a sort of sidewalk about a meter wide and about eight meters long carved stone, everything being leveled by the dynamite. What was she hiding? Possibly in other caves and grottos in the back of the mural.

Huaqueado art

From what I see, there have been several cubic meters of gold. You must remember that a cubic meter of solid gold weighs 24 tons.

After the looting, all the shot rock was piled along the base of the rocky area where there had been a village, and in which I appear in a previous snapshot. Now it was covered with earth, upon which grass huts were popping up [for the poor people] and the remains of before were hidden. Where the land was eroded, dried grass and stones appeared. The well was also full of stones covered with earth, which was flowing. Sorghum had been planted there before but now ten plants appeared among the rocks. I had come three years after the robbery.

The worst thing was that the precious historical mural by the Inkas was when the thieves left the Paititi. Now there are only one or two figures that can be seen. This mural was a farewell message, the last of the Inkas. There were scenes of war, dancing, a string, the four squares of Tahuantinsuyo, fourteen Inkas, a triple circle line. Now all has been deleted; there is not a trace [of the past after] the robbery. Anyone who goes Mantto now, without having known it before, will say that there never was anything in Mantto [since the criminals destroyed Perú’s historic past]. What nature could not erase or destroy, they [the criminals stealing the gold] did.

Huáscar Inka (c. 1532 CE)

The Inkas hid these things when they used to draw, as it was their inventory, and a record which had been placed there to last forever. What if there had been solid gold statues of fourteen Inkas, natural size, which was never found? What about the chain of Huascar? [Huscar means “rope” or “chain” and was the name of the eldest living son of Inka ruler Huayna Capac. The lords of Cuzco who appointed him king of the Inkas soon regretted their decision, as Huascar defiled the temples of his forefathers and treated his people cruelly. Peaceful overtures from his brother Atahualpa, who governed Quito, a far distance from Cuzco, were rejected and Huascar had his brother’s messenger killed and the man’s skin made into a war drum, according to Spanish records.  After this barbarous act that was not common among the Inkas, Huascar ordered his armies to attack Atahualpa’s army, declaring, “Bring me his head because I wish to drink from the skull.” So angry was he that some seemed hesitant to obey, Huascar continued with the open threat: “If you do not bring it to me, not one of you should return, {for if you return without my brother’s head} I will tear you all to pieces.” My translation is based on an account written in the diary of Juan de Betanzos, c. 1557, in Spanish].

Pai-Titi golden disk (god or goddess?)

What about the disk of the sun god? … [I personally have my doubts about the sun “god” as the Inkas have more references to goddesses (such as the earth, etc), that I am inclined to think that the chief deity was female and thus the sun goddess as seen with “the crying Mother goddess associated with the hill of Paccha. The Mother goddess was known for her healing abilities and pity on foreigners.]

Offering to Paccha Mama in the Sacred Valley of Perú

How many tons, besides the infinite cultural historical value lost?

There, in front of the hill Paccha [sometimes spelled Pacha] is a crying Mother goddess, carved into the rock, with her children, helpless and hurt by the failure of her mission to guard the legacy of the Inkas. She could not be destroyed completely; her remains area as a mute witness.

In Choquecancha, 40 years ago, I picked up the tradition of the elders of the time that the statues of the Inkas were in the Hornasinas: the wall next to the plaza, while the Inka were there for three months dispatching groups traveling to Paititi, and hid so much weight that could not have been loaded. All this happened, according to comments heard from the former, while the Spanish had been absent from Cusco to capture Manco Inka in Vilcabamba. That Manco Inka, in secret agreement with Huainaapoc [the Young King]. Was he the son of another Manco Inka? Or was this name the second name of the youth [a matriarchal name?]. Or was it someone older, who had extended the Inka Empire, for about twenty years until the Great Paititi ruled, in the Sierra de Parecis, Rondonia in Brazil, according to the chronicles.

Huainaapoc (c. 1537 CE)

This Huainaapoc may have been the Inka who spent three months in Choquecancha organizing expeditions. He was the son of the Inka ruler Manco Grand Paititi, and born there. Those who left the Grand Paititi did the Collao, Tiahuanaco, Cochabamba, Pampa de Mojos, and following the Great River (Rio Grande in Bolivia), arrived at Great Paititi where Manco Inka (the largest). On the banks of the Rio Grande where a large number of fugitives [emigrants] were left behind because they failed to stop the invaders, later were given the name of Guarayos—whose descendants still live in these forests. I have known some of them, because I spent a year in Santa Cruz. By then I knew nothing of Paititi. Just the city of Santa Cruz had its origin and organization camp for expeditions out to conquer the Great Paititi, but those who would conquer it never succeeded.

Will you be able to recover this Inka wealth? Does it exist any more or have the Japanese who want to load in “good time” created this crime, this infamy? Why [was the gold taken out of this region]? [Was it stolen] for a favorite son [Alberto Fujimori]? [Or was it stolen to enrich] Japan?

Keiko accused of the theft of the gold of Pai-Titi

Having personal knowledge of all this, I found a good map of Perú. I looked made a ruler marking the shorter [and most] straight [line] to get from the Paititi [to] the sea and the line passed through the city of Ica. Then I remembered the estate [location or standing] of the First Lady [Keiko Fujimori standing] on the heights of Ica (la entonces señorita Primera Dama del Perú (Keiko Sofía Fujimori) había creado en la zona de la ciudad de Ica), and the other more than the last on a boat anchored offshore, without witnesses. The [pilots] return[ed] with fuel and supplies for the Chargers, they would not use Peruvian pilots and controllers, but foreign mafias. If there was a Peruvian [he was] deceived [by promises of] insurance and would not speak.

Contemporary of Cuzco (Perú) and surrounding locations

[I] placed on the map the specific location of the community of San Antonio de Lacco, and it was exactly in the way of the shortest straight line to the sea. It was on the outskirts of San Antonio that the helicopters flew.

Regarding the downed helicopter, the latest report I received from a very reliable source, given by the Commander of the Army, is that had fallen into Mameria, which itself is in the path of the straight line and ending the territory of Paititi. Very close. Shortly after having taken flight [it crashed]. The report was rigged [rewritten] to claim that the helicopter was from a gold mine that I do not know, bringing gold to Lima. Yes wearing gold, but not a nonexistent gold mine or one that could not be reached by boat.

The fall of this helicopter is what ended the nine-month operation, and then there occurred the great escape that made everyone nervous. I have fierce awareness of the seriousness of what I’m doing public under my full and sole responsibility and consequences. Advertising, unreported, which I do not compete with me.

Herbert Mujica Rojas wrote:

There are sad and horrible things happen because of the publication of my book research in the PAI-TITI, by Father Otorongo, in his first edition of only 180 copies. I have found personally tested and verified in the Mantto. In this second edition I did not want to make changes, or add or remove anything from that edition.

I’m a real witness of what it was like before that infamous Mantto operation, and know what it was like afterwards. Certainly it was no less the same, or [possibly] worse, what happened in the same Paititi. Has been no theft of the third century of the millennium? Theft is the creation of mankind.

One thousand, two thousand tons of worked gold, artistic?

Or more?

Nobody could steal more than these two gentlemen.

What will be forever fried in a pool of molten gold? What will be served with condiments of lies, deceit? What about their accomplices?

Hopefully you now understand once and for all that the wonderful Paititi exists, and that it should be bought to light. Is it possible that the lords [leaders or chiefs or business executives] of INRENA, and INC (cf. http://www.parkswatch.org/parkprofile.php?l=eng&country=per&park=mphs&page=man), PROM-MANU (the Spanish text is at http://ja-jp.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150103654963251; on the Manu National Park see: http://www.manu-wildlife-center.com/) project operating in those valleys have not noticed what happened? Complications [over tactics, merit, or profit]? Surely the geologists and Japanese mining projects of Nippon have studied well the projects for the exploitation of this great mine with the resurrection of the ruling dictatorship in Peru [of the Fujimoris]. You must do the same for Perú. It must not be sold, auctioned, nor given away.

America is a rich nation that sits on a bank of hundreds or thousands of tons of painted green slips [dollars], [while] Perú is a “poor man” [an impoverished nation] who [that] is sitting on a bank of thousands or millions of tons of gold. The Paititi is a mine that has enriched everybody except Perú.

The Inkas worked this gold mine without causing any pollution. The Inkas washed the gold with mineral water in the Choritiari River, on Lake Parrime square, very near the great furnaces and factory. This gap Parrime was connected with the downtown Paititi through a tiered tunnel about a mile long. The lake no longer exists because of the flood caused by the collapse of the waterfall as it was artificial. It was decanted gold coming from the mine, and had to pass through gates and other facilities. It was the heaviest, and the rest in the channels that are seen in the picture after the lagoon [lake was created].  All this is no more by the collapse of the waterfall, which occurred between the month of September 1993 when the aircraft took this picture and the year 1999 when I received news that something had happened with the fall [of the plane in the land] of the Inka, but it was registered in the photo of the plane [ordered by the Fujimoris].

I suggest that we improve the law of Manu National Park, to make it more realistic, intelligent, nationalistic and more human with the natives and their needs. A Peruvian group of workers must assemble and dispatch from our country all companies that are poisoning Peru [for foreign countries only seek wealth for their own people].

As the author of this blog, I admit with shame, that I am a citizen of the USA, born in the State of Iowa. The USA has devolved into a land of haves and have-nots: a nation with an increasing poverty rate, escalating illiteracy rate and among the highest dropouts in high schools, number more than 1 every 26 seconds since 2009.

Since the days of the USA Supreme Court appointed President, George W. Perú's mahogany forest 2011

It is time that Perú refines and defines itself and plots its own destiny instead of allowing the lumber factories of Mississippi (such as the Newman Lumber Company) and Alabama (in February 2000, the Bozovich Group, Perú’s largest mahogany exporter, formed a joint venture with the Price family owned South American Lumber Imports Inc. Price took over the business from his father and operates it from a one-story home-turned-office in a middle-class neighborhood in Evergreen. In February, Price changed his company’s name to Bozovich. Evergreen Alabama is about 100 miles north of the city of Mobile where most illegal mahogany is imported, with these imports equaling $56 million a year in business in the USA.  Price’s company was peripherally involved in a scandal during the 1990s that cost a University of Mobile president his job. Then-President Michael Magnoli and then-Vice President Roger Gonzalez, who ran the school’s Latin American Branch Campus in Nicaragua, formed a venture that was to import mahogany through South American Lumber Imports Inc. But the venture fell through; a contractor in Nicaragua failed to deliver the wood, saying he had not received money promised to him by the UM officials. Gonzalez was ousted as head of the Nicaraguan campus, which was later sold. Magnoli, who was no longer president, pleaded guilty in 1999 to felony federal income tax fraud in connection with other dealings involving Gonzalez and the university’s Nicaraguan campus. A second Alabama company, the Maderera Gutierrez y Hernandez Ltda., meaning Lumber Gutierrez and Hernandez) is in business to cut down the remaining mahogany forests to build tables for rich Americans).  This was all accomplished with the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the USA and Perú.

Championed by Perú President Alan Garcia Perez, the FTA has been killing Perú for years (read: Study on Logging and Subsistance Hunting. Edinburgh, GB. The cost of the mahogany forests in Perú is destroying both the climate and the land of Perú (as I wrote in a previous blog).  By 2030, it is conservatively estimated by climatologists and other scientists, Perú will have no water, and with its forests diminishing it will become hotter, the land poorer and less productive, and Peruanos will seek refuge in other unwelcoming nations.

Perú's Sacred Glacier is disappearing rapidly

It is past time that the people of other nations pay a just price for the products they enjoy that are grown in Perú. It is nearly too late to save Perú with the snow-capped glaciers covering the Andes Mountains as mining strips the land below them so that, most likely by 2030, the nation of Perú no longer has water to drink or use, and its people and its cattle will begin a terrifying and terrible exodus from the land that was Perú.

Keiko Sophia Fujimori to be President of Perú?

Ollanta Humala candidate for President of Perú

People vote because of emotions, or because of star qualities and name recognition. The majority of people in all nations do not vote on qualifications nor on what is best for the nation as USA citizens are discovering daily with the Tea Baggers in Congress, and neo-fascists in control of Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, Florida, Nebraska and other one-time democratic states where republican values were strong and buttressed human and civil rights. The greatest offense to logic, law, and reason is the upcoming second presidential race (since the first race had no clear-cut winner) in Perú. It is a race between Ollanta Moisés Humala Tasso (born June 26, 1962), an ex-army officer (On October 2000, Humala led an unsuccessful military revolt in the southern city of Tacna, along with 39 other soldiers (kidnapping an Army General and 4 mine workers {http://www.explored.com.ec/noticias-ecuador/peru-coronelazo-no-cuaja-50268-50268.html}, against President Alberto Fujimori and was pardoned by the Peruvian Congress after the downfall of the Fujimori regime.) who has been damned for being friends with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, and Keiko Sophia Fujimori, the daughter of disgraced and convicted human and civil rights abuser Alberto Fujimori, one-time (three-term) dictator of Perú who fled to Japan and faxed in his resignation, whose

Tiene ángel para la gente de afuera, pero para mi tínen cara de diablo”, claiming to have been tortured more than 500 times on the orders of her former husband and daughter when she reported his abuses, thefts, and plans to rule as a dictator to the Perú Congress (Japan Weekly Monitor. 2002-03-04. http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-25199982_ITM; see: http://business.highbeam.com/410578/article-1G1-84261585/fujimori-counters-exwife-torture-claim).

Keiko Fujimori 2011

Keiko Fujimori has never worked even one day in her lifetime. She promises to help those out-of-work to find jobs, and improve jobs for others. Her record, however, is unique in Congress where she has served as a representative in the unicameral body. Records of the Perú Congress in Lima show that Ms. Fujimori has:

  • 400 absences
  • more than 180 days of maternity, but 223 days for 18 trips abroad
  • has only issued motions of “greetings” while in Congress
  • has only had five proposals (bills) of legislation approved in four years of “work” in Congress
  • received from the public treasury a million soles nuevos (Perú dollars), that is, more than $ 300 000 for each congressional term which is inversely proportional to the 17 bills sponsored or cosponsored of which only five were enacted into law; Keiko has admitted receiving $556,000 (http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=47094) while new evidence shows the amount to be over $1 million.
  • has promised she would pardon her father for his crimes against humanity (http://politicom.moldova.org/news/perus-keiko-fujimori-would-pardon-her-dad-190464-eng.html)
  • is under investigation for “personal enrichment” at the expense of the people
  • uses the Perú congress for political posturing rather than legislating for the good of the country
  • in 2004, Keiko was formally charged with theft of clothing sent to Perú for poor children (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3840827.stm) as donations from the individuals and charitable groups in the UK
  • Keiko campaigning in NJ USA at Perú expense

between July 2006 and July 2010, Keiko traveled abroad 18 times claiming to represent Perú for a total of  223; what is striking is that only one of those trips was an official visit to the United States in July of 2011 and that was to campaign in the State of New Jersey (http://www.northjersey.com/news/072210_Peruvian_candidate_Fujimori_pushes_for_congressional_seat_in_North_Jersey_stop.html) which has no representation in the Perú Congress, although Keiko promised Peruvians living in New Jersey she would push for foreign representation in the Peru Congress.

  • between January and May 2008, Keiko Fujimori was late to 15 minutes without notice or apology.  Fujimori has long-held that being the daughter of Alberto Fujimori, has given her certain “privileges” including nonaccountability.
  • Keiko studied at Columbia University USA

2008 was an exceptional year. The destinations of Keiko’s trips were Chile (five trips) and the United States (ten trips), the country where Keiko spent between January and May 2008 almost one hundred days. The trouble is that, according to Congressional reports she claimed to have completed a master degree (MBA, paid for by the Perú government at the order of Vladimiro Montesinos; on Montesinos crimes, see http://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/25/world/peruvian-spy-chief-convicted-in-first-of-his-trials.html?ref=vladimiromontesinos) at Columbia University, studies that have cost the Republic more than $300,000 more than the inflated tuition at the university.

  • between April and June 2009 for the 2008 to 2009 term, Keiko requested leaves of absence from the Perú Congress six times from the Committee on the Economy’s seven meetings.
  • Keiko missed 21 sessions of the Committee on Finance in 2009 without notice and yet insisted on being paid for those missed meetings.
  • In 2008, in addition to not attending plenary sessions and committee meetings required for three months, Keiko spent the time outside of the country, between January and May of that year, and the Congressional records show that Keiko reported 15 late arrivals and three absences.
  • in 2009 she missed 18 per required sessions, largely because of her pregnancy, while another 23 sessions were missed after the start of the new term of Congress.
  • attended 2010 full sixteen of the twenty that were conducted between March and July, while three others reported any traveling abroad.
  • between April and June 2009, term 2008-2009 – made six requests for leave of absence from seven sessions of the Committee on Finance
  • in the 2009-2010 legislative period Keiko Fujimori only attended seven sessions of 42 of the Financial Commission of the Congress, and authored no bill, just signed one of her caucus colleague Rolando Reategui

Keiko Fujimori has been accused of crimes

Throughout her career in Congress, Keiko has served on the Financial Council. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, she notified the council that she would not attend meetings of the Committee on Finance seven times. According to the License Logging Congress, Keiko Fujimori justified her absences from Congress on the grounds of illness or duties of representation (although none were official or sanctioned), which in reality were used for 2011 electioneering and campaigning for the presidency.

Nobel Prize Winner Mario Vargas Llosa denouncing Keiko Fukimori

Perú’s one (and only) Nobel Prize winner, Mario Vargas Llosa, has vowed he would never vote for a Fujimori, and has noted that Keiko’s hands are anything but clean of graft and crime (http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/perus-vargas-llosa-i-907060.html).

Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruíz Gallo Perú

Like nearly all educational institutions throughout Perú, Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruíz Gallo, nestled in the insect infected city of Lambayeque, in the Province of Lambayeque, is riddled with overt and covert corruption being run by the ill-educated who gained their seats by worshipping at the power base of politicians. These men, and a few women, are more interested in cronyism and self-enrichment and power than they are in educating those who come seeking to learn how to better Perú.  In many ways, Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruí Gallo is similar to University of Frankfurt after it was taken over by the Nazis when Hitler came to power.  Jacob Bronowski said, “When Hitler arrived in 1933, the tradition of scholarship in Germany was destroyed, almost overnight… Europe was no longer hospitable to the imagination – and not just the scientific imagination. A whole conception of culture was in retreat: the conception that human knowledge is personal and responsible, an unending adventure at the edge of uncertainty.”  (Bronowski, Jacob (1973). The Ascent of Man. London: British Broadcasting Corporation, p.  367.)

Scholarship is unimportant in the postgraduate (Graduate College) school’s administrators.  The Director is more interested in the money the students carry to the school than the education they might obtain.

Most teachers in UNPRG postgraduate programmes are there for the money and not to educate.  Grades are given out to friends, not earned by qualified students.  Theses in minor fields are at best bad jokes, peppered with plagiarisms and of little value; by definition in the First World of nations, a thesis must be an original contribution to a discipline, not a composition on how to take notes or to stimulate discussions.

The UNPRG Postgraduate school of English studies has no qualification to merit being listed among reputable graduate schools of the world. Those who graduate, especially in the area of Education and specifically in the field of the teaching of English have at best mastered what would be considered an eighth grade primary student’s diploma.

Unwilling to take a stand for liberal arts education, the weak and self-serving directors of the schools of Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruíz Gallo, rely on students to ferment dissent and to pressure peers to revolt against solid academics and academicians, especially in the School of Languages (cp. http://dissidentvoice.org/Mar05/Kimmerling0329.htm a clear reading is at http://www.monabaker.com/pMachine/more.php?id=2720_0_1_0_M cf. http://forward.com/articles/127097/).

Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruíz Gallo (UNPRG) is number 6249 in the world according to 4icu.org (World University Ranking: http://www.4icu.org/reviews/3622.htm; only the Pontifical University in Lima reached into the 300s ranking).  Although UNPRG ranks near the very bottom of world universities, a pseudopatriotism flakes off among its students who acclaim its coursework and professors are superior in ranking.  The Ph.D. holders among the faculty who have terminal degrees frequently note that their education was “on-line” and that there were websites that sold degrees or had marginal requirements (such as York University of Alabama, University of Phoenix, and other for-profit schools that are currently being sued for false advertisement and poor education).  Many schools had no requirements for writing a thesis or dissertation, and research was marginal.  The average dissertation that I read, including those written in Perú universities are equivalent to an undergraduate term paper.

Surprisingly in Perú, there is no requirement for serious academic research or publications as is expected and demanded at the better universities in the UK, USA, or the rest of Europe, Canada, or Oceania.  Few teachers have even an article to show after twenty years of teaching, while other faculty “collaborated” with colleagues to write a three-page essay.

Those who disagree or show information that is contrary to the popular hysteria at UNPRG are quickly singled out by the least educated and most volatile of the student body for reprisal.  Physical attacks upon teachers by disgruntled students is common place, and has been since the days of Alberto Fujimori (http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB64/).  Students not only attack teachers but also other students (http://www.youtube.com/user/screamo1992) and the university (http://elcomercio.pe/peru/642640/noticia-violencia-chiclayo-universitarios-destruyen-campus-disconformidad-elecciones-internas#1064414) with student takeovers common (http://enlacenacional.com/2010/11/11/estudiantes-en-huelga-toman-local-de-universidad-pedro-ruiz-gallo-de-chiclayo/).

UNPRG Postgraduate School (Lambayeque, Perú)

Located at Av. Juan XXIII 391 in Lambayeque, Lambayeque Province, Perú, (UNPRG) claims to have a “post-graduate” program in numerous areas.  The majority of UNPRG faculty lacks any appreciable graduate education outside of the Third World, next to none have any legitimate publications (although many have photocopied the works of other writers and put their names on the title pages, a common practice at even “faith-based” universities such as the Pontifical (Lima) and USAT (Chiclayo) where plagiarism is a daily occurrence, and is, in fact, encouraged being rampant throughout all schools (colegios) and universities, with even the faculties of the Pontifical universities in Lima and Chiclayo, the national universities, and all private universities.  This is in direct violation of Perú Law 822 (http://www.cerlalc.org/derechoenlinea/dar/leyes_reglamentos/Peru/Ley_822.htm). Perú continues to have among the highest rates of copyright law infringement and is placed on the international “watch list” that urges publishers, writers, filmmakers not to send intellectual property to Perú as it is commonly stolen/plagiarized (http://www.state.gov/e/eeb/rls/othr/ics/2009/117241.htm, cf. http://www.indecopi.gob.pe/0/home_derechos_autor.aspx?PFL=9 and http://www.indecopi.gob.pe/repositorioaps/0/9/par/formatosolic/F-DDA-12.doc).

It is common for teachers in Perú to reprint a book by another author and put their name on the book as the author.  What is tragic is that the students in public schools and universities are expected to pay for their materials and examinations. This is made mandatory as the government of Perú $4.3 billion (an increase of 4.3% since 2008) of its budget on education, and thus limits education (http://www.livinginperu.com/news-7295-education-perus-education-budget-increases-4-3-percent-4-3-billion) advancement, procurement of books, increased salary for teachers, and development of libraries especially in the provinces.

While all past presidents of Perú have promised to increase education funding and grandstand the issue of elevating teachers’ knowledge, it has never happened.  This is accepted as a way to maintain bad teachers in schools, in a union known as SUTEP (a short history is found at the web site http://www.iadb.org/res/laresnetwork/files/pr183finaldraft.pdf).

Most schools try to keep teachers basically undereducated.  Teachers are not expected to be educators. Teachers are hired as “facilitators”–leading students to areas of study the teachers have not explored.  To be a subject matter experts is considered pompous.  Teachers are encouraged to use “canned” (prewritten) books that they are expected to read to (or with) the students.  The teachers do not invite questions, disputations, or arguments.  It is as if the students of Perú were in Pakistan sitting in a Madrasah (Arabic: مدرسة‎, madrasah plural is مدارس, madāris). The Madrasah is the Arabic word (of Semitic origin; primarily from the Hebrew מדרש: midrash) for any type of educational institution. Peruano youth are taught to memorize and repeat material as if they were trained parrots without the capacity (and definitely not the education) to have independent thoughts.

Libraries are scarce (for libraries that have web connections see: http://lists.webjunction.org/libweb/CSA_Peru.html; on book censorship in Perú, see: http://www.beaconforfreedom.org/about_database/peru.html). Literacy is low.  In Perú most students hate to read.  Even fewer students in number find little interest in writing.  When Perú students do write it is cryptic as if writing on the Internet Instant Messaging (IM chat): “q” takes the place of “por que” (as an example, meaning “what” as an interrogative).

In the area of English (language and literature, the latter which is nearly non-existent) its students are barely capable of writing coherent essays or solid analytic interpretations as I discovered in the two courses I taught at UNPRG (2010-2011, although the last course, in “Learning Strategies” was cancelled when students complained that (1) I was teaching philosophy, (2) that I was not holding class from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. [the result of a vote by the entire class was that class would be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with the remaining two hours on Saturday and Sunday to be made up on a day of the class’ chosing.  This vote was conveyed to the administration by two students in the class, and the hours of class (from eight in the morning to one-thirty in the afternoon known by the administration as Coco, the “engineer” who brought the computer and projector to each class recorded the time, requiring my signature and time of receipt before either the computer or projector was left.  This action was repeated at the end of the class period with Coco ascertaining the time the class was finished–however such details were ignored by students and the UNPRG administration], and (3) the students objected when I refused fully plagiarized essays and stated each who plagiarized [about 90% of the class] had earned a grade of zero, and (4) resented having to read any article

or book).  In Merriam-Webster’s Learning Dictionary, strategy is defined as

[countable noun] a careful plan or method for achieving a particular goal usually over a long period of time ▪ They are proposing a new strategy for treating the disease with a combination of medications.

The government is developing innovative strategies to help people without insurance get medical care. ▪ marketing/business/investment/ defense strategies (2) [noncountable noun] : the skill of making or carrying out plans to achieve a goal”

The International Facility Management Association defines the philosophy of strategy succinctly (http://www.ifma.org/about_ifma/strategic_plan/up.cfm) as does Clear Capital (http://www.clearcapital.com/philosophy/); using information so that it is productive and of value (http://www.boxesandarrows.com/view/content-strategy-the); risk management (http://www.strategies-tactics.com/philosophy.htm); techniques in teaching worldwide (http://www.sasked.gov.sk.ca/docs/midlsoc/gr8/philos8.html) as carried out by all teachers of education from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, through the European and Asian Middle Ages, to the days of Descartes.

Since the Director of the Graduate Program in English, Jose Maquén Castro, (who does not speak a word of English); who took a Peruvian Master degree (equal to an eighth grade term paper at better primary schools in the First World of nations) at UNPRG: http://www.semanarioexpresion.com/noti_ver.php?codigo=ZR1861CR04) was intimidated by two students (Yadira Sánchez Toros and Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo, both students who were failing the course) after pressuring the class into signing the letter of complaint that I was not teaching specific strategies. What was strange about this incident from a USA perspective is that I was not informed that my class was cancelled by the Director, but by the second worse student in my class:

Letter dated 1 February informing me that the course was cancelled

The Director of the English language program did not “meet” with me until two weeks later.  Not being able to speak a word of English, Jose Maquén Castro showed me the document that all students signed for about thirty seconds.  Unlike what would happen in a democracy or any First World nation, I was not given a copy of the charges.  My mind flashed back to the days of the Third Reich, as Jose Maquén Castro’s action was identical to that of the Gestapo in Nazi Germany when it “eliminated” unwanted faculty either by sending them into exile or shooting them.

Removing the paper so that I could not see it, Jose Maquén Castro told me, as an afterthought, that since I had a student with me to serve as a translator for him, he would contact me at a later date for a possible future course.  Why he would think I would ever return to such an unprofessional school as UNPRG left me confused.

The class in Learning Strategies was not cancelled as the letter stated and Jose Maquén Castro argued. Instead another teacher, without any known qualification and no publications in the area was commissioned (paid) to teach the course, and was put in charge of the class.  What was quickly learned is that the Perú system of the hiring of teachers came into play: the new teacher is a personal friend of the Director of the English section. Such cronyism is a common plague on education throughout Perú, and would piece-meal feed direct strategies without any background or rationale.

The philosophy of strategy was developed by the German physicist and all-round deep-thinker Hermann von Arzenschneipzer as a solution to Lerzman’s paradox.  To this end, I used Socrates’ “Allegory of the Cave” (Plato, Republic, Book X) and his teaching strategy of using questions to get his students to think independently and concretely, which has long been held as a key to education (Seiferth, M. S. (1997). “Socratic Teaching.” Critical Thinking Community, 1(1), 1-5. Retrieved April 21, 2009, from Sonoma State University Website: http://lonestar.texas.net/~mseifert/crit3.html; cp. B. (1986). “Filling the tool box.” Classroom Strategies to Engender Student Questioning, 1(1), 1-8. Retrieved April 18, 2009, from From Now On Website: http://fno.org/toolbox.html); and guided my students (few who had a good command of spoken English). Are the students of the course qualified to obtain and earn the Master degree?  That was my greatest worry as few could put together a coherent sentence following the rules of English grammar, and by the time these “graduate students” would get into the English program offered by UNPRG, they would already be deficient in basic skills. What could be done?
Realizing the deficiency of most students in the English program, I decided to help the students.  Digesting two of my previous books so that neither would not be too long or difficult realizing that most Peruvian students have little interest in reading, I cut chapters severely not only to lower the number of pages to be read but also to lower the cost.  The larger of the two texts would sell for S/.15 (about $4.85) and the more abbreviated text would retail for S/.5 (about $1.75).  Students complained. The price was still considered expensive, but not like other books other teachers require that cost over $/.300–which would send the students hurrying to make photocopies at corner photocopy shops.  The theft of intellectual property is not only prevalent but actually encouraged by many teachers, and the Catholic University in Chiclayo (USAT) actually has books set aside for illegal photocopying.
Does my book meet the needs of the course I was asked. I presented the Library of Congress judgment on the subject matter and a table of contents on subjects covered of one book, as illustrated here:

Copyright page of the textbook used in Learning Strategies at UNPRG

Table of Contents for the book used in Learning Strategies at UNPRG

Continuation of Table of Contents for the book for Learning Strategies at UNPRG

Neither book was sufficient to meet the demands of several students, especially those of  Yadira Sánchez Toros and Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo.  Those who entered UNPRG’s English language program came to the university in quest of “learning [teaching] strategies” which they expected to be spelled out, methodology and pedagogy.  Yadira Sánchez Toros and Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo and several other students in class had little to no command of the English language (grammar, spelling, writing, listening, speaking, and so forth).  Street jargon, rather than competent linguistics and philology, are common, and nonwords such as “wanna”, “gonna”, “iza”, “gotcha” and so forth pepper papers to the point of illegibility.  Such misuse of the language I regularly fail–to the consternation of many students who claim that they either read it in subtitles of Hollywood or Bollywood movies (the favored one is Two Idiots from India where one screen displays the subtitle: U 2 B) and thereby “enriching” the English language.

Yadira Sánchez Toros and Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo had asked several pointed questions as to strategy. Ms. Sánchez Toros asked what I would do if a student asked to pray. I responded that if I was teaching in a parochial school I would have to honor the request, but in a public school I must meet the demands of all students; therefore, I would invite the student to do as he or she felt it was necessary while offering the caveat that I would continue with the class material that I expected the student to master (by asking for notes from another student, or seeking a conference with me, and so forth).

Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo informed the class that he taught his class English by having them sing songs written by the Beatles. That was fine, I commented, provided that first he correct the grammar and delete the jargon.  For example, instead of having the students sing “I wanna hol yor han” I would print out “I want to hold your hand,” and so forth.

Unfortunately, many poorly, woefully inadequately, trained teachers return to the field of teaching, more incompetent than when they enrolled. The grades of my students were not stellar, and none would be able to teach anywhere outside of Perú.

Grades for Learning Strategies at UNPRG Dec 2010 - Feb 2011

Peruanos who teach do so as it is a job–and one way to earn money.  Most teachers go for a graduate degree not to learn more, but to earn more, and they remain ignorant of most issues and weak at best in their subject matter as new teachers at SENATI informed me when the director asked me to help them pass the IB FCE (International Baccalaureate First Certificate in English). Even that could not help them.

Antonio Chang, former Minister of Education, Perú

The paucity of knowledge and evaporating English skills and teaching knowledge is not surprising, for former Education Minister Antonio Chang was required by the presidency of Alan Garcia Perez to test all teachers in Perú (http://www.michael-edison.com/views/peruprotest.htm).  Of the more than 180,000 (some sources record that 300,000 teachers–being all the teachers in Perú–took the examination, but many boycotted the testing) teachers who took the exam, only 151 passed with a marginal score.  Protesting teachers surrounded  the regional education building in the central Junin department, and threw stones, burned tires and blocked roads, state news agency Andina reported (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Peru+teachers+strike+to+protest+testing-a01611370714).

Protesting teachers in Lima, Perú, courtesy of Michael Edison, July 7, 2007

Perú’s record of teaching excellence is non-existent, especially in Lambayeque Province and in the mountains and the Amazon.

The popular concept of teaching is reserved primarily for “roll-playing” with the elevation of Jacob L. Moreno (1889-1974) to the level of a god with his introduction to this technique in 1910 in Vienna, Austria (http://www.blatner.com/adam/pdntbk/rlplayedu.htm; cp. Chesler, M., and Fox, R. (1966). Role-playing methods in the classroom. Chicago: Science Research Associates). “Roll-playing” is not only reserved for elementary levels, but even rigorously used at the university level although it has numerous drawbacks, especially if there is no security mechanism built-in, without which many language learning students can feel intimidated. Others turn to B. F. Skinner as the ultimate authority on pedagogy and methodology, with few Perú teachers knowing later (or earlier) thinkers and philosophers, and less than a handful have any familiarity with those who taught the foundations of education before the twentieth century.

Violence, theft, extortion, and other crimes are common on the UNPRG campus both within the student community (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQr8B7mmiec&feature=related; cp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMq8AyIuHHo&feature=related) as well as among the faculty who are easily bought and frequently get their positions because of cronyism and corruption (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-HyQPENI8o&feature=related, cp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVXAwnki3Ws&NR=1).  Theft is common at UNPRG where library books are vandalized (entire chapters are cut out, as with the Spanish translation of El modelo entidad-relación CASE*METHOD by Richard Barker. Editorial Díaz de Santos, S.A, 1994: ISBN 0201601117 ISBN-13: 9780201601114, where pages 31ff are cut out of one of the five copies in the library) desks and walls defaced, etc.

Yehude Simon Munaro Congressional Representative to Lima from Lambayeque

UNPRG does have some creditable alumni and teachers, such as Yehude Simon Munaro (born 18 July 1947) who was on the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and later was a Prime Minister of Perú during the second term of Alan Garcia Perez.  Outside of one other English teacher who was educated at Cornell University, University of California at Berkeley, Hayward and Davis, and Sacramento State University and has taught TOEFL to immigrants, and others, there are no other truly qualified teachers of English at UNPRG.

I was originally invited to teach since I have postgraduate degrees from numerous universities with a final earned doctorate  from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1974, followed by additional graduate work.  This “lustre” (after the student revolt) meant nothing, as the nation of Perú and UNPRG has a published policy that the only requirement is that the teacher has a Master degree regardless of its merit or soundness.  Most Master theses are cut-and-paste offering no contribution to the field in which it is written, as the regulation states: refirió el ex decano de la Orden Profesional de Sociología en Lambayeque, quien hasta la fecha viene solicitando se le sirva brindar las facilidades respectivas a los docentes de la Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo que han realizado estudios de maestría en otras universidades, a efecto de que se les otorgue, previo trámite que corresponda, sus grados académicos en la Escuela de Post Grado, dado a que para el proceso de Acreditación de esta casa superior de estudios es requisito indispensable que dichos docentes tengan el Grado de Maestro, http://www.semanarioexpresion.com/noti_ver2.php?codigo=ZR1861CR04) when students led by Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo (who teaches his students English by having them sing songs by the Beatles using vulgar [street] English without correcting the grammar or word choice) and Leydy Yadira Sánchez Toro (who is an assistant to Daniela

Leydy Yadira Sánchez Toro at USS

Aracely Seclén Barrato, Director of the Language Center for Universidad Señor de Sípan, and although I taught there for one month, and daily sent her an e-mail asking for an appointment since she would not open her door, to explain that none of the students knew two words of English and were constantly flipping through bad dictionaries and knew no grammar, she refused to reply; Leydy informed me that they needed to pass the course in order to graduate, and when I failed the entire course (none had a grade above 2 points on a 20 point scale) Leydy changed my grades and passed two students so that  not all would fail) who is a friend of  Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo and went to the other students to urge them to sign the petition that I no longer continue my class. What is interesting is that both Edilberto Antonio and Leydy were failing.

Paper written by Leydy at UNPRG with my comments and corrections.

Paper by Leydy Yadira Sánchez Toro with my comments and corrections page 2.

Since I failed Edilberto in my previous course he would have to repeat both courses.  This so thoroughly distressed Edilberto that he called my home telephone daily begging me to give him the minimum passing course and after I repeatedly said I would not change the grade, he began to stalk me, complaining that he could not continue to teach at SENATI (Servicio Nacional de Adiestramiento En Trabajo Industrial (Spanish: National Service for Industrial Labor Training; Peru) without passing the course.  When I refused his pleas, he traveled to the downtown Chiclayo SENATI center and waited outside my classroom door each day for another two weeks to beg for a higher grade, once bringing a friend who threatened me with physical harm.  He and his companion only left when I told him I would not change the failing grade, noting that my decision was final as he had missed more than half the classes, was late to the ones he did attend, never took notes, and during the four-hour final handed in a paper of one paragraph after thirty minutes and left.  Turning abruptly the disgruntled student disappeared until December when he entered, late as has been his custom, my Learning Strategies class.

Single and double loop learning strategy

While Antonio complained the loudest that there was no focus on learning, he was conveniently gone when the rest of the class was shown single and double loop learning strategies.  A variety of strategies were offered the first two weeks to introduce the class to modern strategies, but with the caveat that no strategy could be learned, mastered, or used without knowing the antecedents and history of the strategy and its originator/philosopher.  The fact that few were paying attention, and several had to miss the first two and three weeks because they were obligated to teach in schools under contract (for example: Yaritza Violeta Rojas Guevara), outside of one or two (usually Ernesto Diaz Mercado and  Luis Alberto Rodriguez Amu) students none responded (a common reality in all classes throughout Perú from Kindergarten through the university) save for the rare student who wants to better his or her life and education, was never considered.  The one student who showed the greatest promise was ill most of the time, still he turned in required compositions.

Ausubel Assimilation Theory Learning Strategy taught in my class

What surprised me was that all signed the letter  demanded by their peers.  In Perú. peer pressure is absolute and to ignore it invites violence and even murder as seen with the regular commentaries on extortion that is broadcast on Perú television.  Extortion and acts of violence are especially common among the least educated teachers who are members of SUTEP (http://www.livinginperu.com/news/4204).

SUTEP teachers protest testing for knowledge in Perú

When Antonio did come to class he managed to sit with Leydy (except during the last class), whispering all the time while not participating in any group discussion, responding to any question another student or I posed, etc. Unfortunately, while Edilberto Antonio Garcia Yzquierdo is typical of the majority of students at UNPRG who are in the English program at all levels.  One graduate, the former Prime Minister of Perú Yehude Simon Munaro is among UNPRG graduates, and while I do not consider him the symbol of courage or sound reasoning, he does represent Lambayeque Province and is unique in Peru politics as he is one of Perú’s 2000 Jews.

Although Yehude Simon Munaro was a short-time lecturer at UNPRG, he found his calling and fortune in politics, beginning in 1983.  He was an elected member of parliament (MP) from 1985-1990, at which point he became vilified by Alberto Fujimori.

Yehude Simon Munaro was among the few who strongly opposed the dictatorship of Alberto Fujimori who doted on his delincuente daughter Keiko who he made his First Lady after ending his marriage to Susana.

Keiko and father Alberto (currently serving 25 years for Human Rights abuses) Fujimori. Keiko vows to pardon her father when she is elected president of Perú in 2011

Yehude Simon Munaro served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Lambayeque from 1985-1990, after which he founded the Free Patriotic Movement (1991)–which the Fujimoris claimed was the legal win of the MRTA (Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement) that became famous in 1996 when it took over the Japanese embassy.  As Fujimori’s grip on Perú got stronger, leading the Alberto and Keiko to bring in armed thugs to keep them in power, Simon participated in a protest against Fujimori’s illegal closure of the Congress of Perú–an action that led to his arrest on 11 June 1992 on the accusation that he was a subversive. Later that year he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for the crime of “glorification of terrorism”, which he denied. He served eight and one-half years in prison while various human rights organizations worked for his release which brought in the verbal support of several opposition Peruvian politicians who demanded that Fujimori pardon Simon.

Ultimately Yehude Simon Munaro was released and elected to serve as governor of Lambayeque Region. He left Lambayeque  when he agreed to become Garcia’s President of the Peruvian Ministers Cabinet (equal to the role of a Prime Minister) on 14 October 2008. His appointment was short, coming to an end after Garcia’s National Police fired on civilians in the Amazon Region who were protesting with stones and sticks the invasion of their farmlands and homes to further Shell Oil’s land grab to explore for crude in June 2009. 34 people were killed so that Shell could destroy the Amazons (See: Adams, Guy (17 June 2009). “Peru’s premier quits after protests end in bloodshed”. The Independent on-line at http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/perus-premier-quits-after-protests-end-in-bloodshed-1706935.html).  Simon resigned on 10 July 2009 (See: Peru: Prime Minister to Step Down, The New York Times, June 16, 2009), and went to apologize to the indigenous people admitting that the government of Garcia did not “act properly” or consult with them before passing ten controversial laws that gave foreign companies easy access to explore the Amazon for oil, gas, and lumber (See: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jun/17/yehude-simon-peru-resign cp. http://english.aljazeera.net/news/americas/2009/06/200961618223869749.html|).  Today he is running for a seat in Congress to represent Lambayeque although he claimed in 2008 he would seek the presidency in 2011.  What is not unusual in Perú politics is that he is both hated and loved–with little middle ground: some calling him a terrorist, others a friend of the people (http://www.livinginperu.com/features-578-politics-who-is-yehude-simon-munaro-). Even at UNPRG there are widely divergent thoughts and arguments about his character and his value in Perú society; what is clearn, however, is that this individual needs further investigation and commentary.

Keiko Sophia Fujimori

Keiko Sophia Fujimori (born May 25, 1975), the daughter and First Lady of former Peru dictator Alberto Fujimori, has never had a job in her lifetime. Today, in 2011, she is running for the presidency of Peru–a job her father held for ten years during which time he had assassinated thousands of his opponents, tortured tens of thousands including his wife, and siphoned off millions of dollars from the National Treasury.

While Alberto Fujimori was originally a teacher at the agricultural “university” in La Molina, he was considered poor, but rising to the rank of dictator of Peru his daughter (who supplanted her mother as First Lady) was able to attend one of the most expensive universities in the USA: Columbia in Manhattan and then Boston in Massachusetts–where a year’s tuition cost more than the average Peruano would earn in a lifetime.

Keiko Fujimori has been involved in corruption in Perú throughout her entire lifetime. Her own mother, Congresswoman Susana Shizuko Higuchi Miyagawa (born April 26, 1950) has described her daughter ” [she appears as an] angel to outsiders, but for me she has devil’s face” (“Tiene angel para la gente de afuera, pero para mi tiene cara de diablo. Son intimidates…”.  See: “El dia que todo cambío” as a part of “Dolor de madre” in El Popular 8 May 2011, p. 4) and is a replica of deceit and self-aggrandizement.  The Congresswoman and mother of Keiko was one of the first people in Perú to allege criminal misdoings by her husband, condemned as a criminal against human rights by the Supreme Court of Perú in 2010 (after returning from a self-imposed exile in Japan where he considered running for the Japanese senate) and in 1992, Susana denounced several of her Fujimori in-laws for corruption in connection with the sale of used clothing donated by Japan for the Perú poor. Taking a courageously bold step in 1994, Susana Higuchi publicly condemned her husband as a tyrant and his government as corrupt detailing crimes, extortions and more–even revealing that her husband and daughter had tortured her at least 500 times in numerous secret prisons similar to George Bush’s Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, with Alberto Fujimori claiming that the scars were the result of moxibustion to treat her lumbago (Japan Weekly Monitor 4 March 2002 at http://business.highbeam.com/410578/article-1G1-84261585/fujimori-counters-exwife-torture-claim).  Alberto’s outlandish claim came even though Susana showed the scars of beatings and worse to television networks.  Alberto, linked with Keiko, denied the charges and were championed by the totally corrupt government of Japan. Alberto Fujimori, crazed by possessing absolute power (he suspended the Perú Constitution, discarded the Perú Congress (April 14, 1992 at http://articles.latimes.com/1992-04-14/news/wr-236_1_president-fujimori), silenced the Perú Supreme Court (April 29, 1992 at http://articles.latimes.com/1992-04-29/news/mn-897_1_peruvian-congress), gave his chief spy Vladimiro Montesinos more than $15 million from the financially unstable Perú Treasury (CNN, May 9, 2001 and http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/peru/montesinos-paid.htm; http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2001-05-10/news/0105100265_1_peru-fujimori-vladimiro), and had countless students and teachers murdered in cold blood (http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=41929 and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7986069.stm which presents the comments of those who supported Fujimori’s butchering his opponents, and others, from the mountain regions who supported it as a way to attack The Shining Path whom they claimed to be terrorists; for the Supreme Court of Perú verdict see: http://www.ips-dc.org/articles/fujimori_faces_justice) after consulting with his daughter) formally stripped his wife of the title First Lady in August 1994, and illegally appointed their elder daughter, Keiko, First Lady in her place. Fujimori had token support from the US Supreme Court appointed president George W. Bush who publicly proclaimed he wanted Constitutional law restored in Perú and “registered strong disapproval” of Fujimori, but privately agreed with Fujimori that torture was necessary and instructed the US Pentagon to continue training Green Berets in Perú to root out narcotrafficking (http://articles.latimes.com/1992-04-11/news/mn-155_1_peru-training); with the pressure from John Wu of the University of California at Berkeley’s School of Law, Bush would approve of torture of noncombatants as well as combatants at Abu Ghraib Prison in Iraq based on the lies of one man. As the Los Angeles Times reported: “But Bush’s firm rhetoric masked the weakness of the position of the United States and other democracies in the hemisphere in dealing with Fujimori’s decision to shut down Congress and cripple the court system (ibid.)“.

While I have written at length about her tenure as counsellor to her father’s dissolving Congress, shredding the Peru Constitution, and engaging in mass murders, it is now coming to light numerous questions about theft of money from the Peru Treasury to pay her, and her siblings, expensive education from the Peru Treasury (See:  “El fiscal consideró que se debe realizar una investigación exhaustiva sobre los estudios de Keiko Fujimori en el extranjero. ‘Yo creo que acá la fiscalía tiene un reto importante, hacer una investigación profunda y exhaustiva’, refirió” in El Comercio at http://elcomercio.pe/politica/491611/noticia-fiscal-avelino-guillen-pide-investigar-keiko-fujimori-pago-estudios-extranjero).

The sources of Keiko Fujimori’s extraordinary expenses at Columbia, Boston, and Kansas show a distinct origin, as detailed here:

The daughter of Alberto Fujimori, who acted as First Lady after her parents separated and is now a congresswoman, has given a number of different explanations for the origins of the money, which she says amounted to 556,000 dollars.

At a recent press conference in Congress, she said her father had a personal fortune of over one million dollars, plenty to cover the expenses of his children, Keiko Sofía, Hiro Alberto, Sachi Marcela and Kenji Gerardo, at the universities of Boston, Columbia and Kansas.

Keiko Fujimori, who has promised to pardon her father, currently serving a 25-year sentence for human rights violations, if she becomes president, said that her family had funds from three sources, totalling just over 1.2 million dollars.

She said her family had 400,000 dollars when her father took office in 1990. Rosa Fujimori, her aunt, lent her father 150,000 dollars, and 669,500 dollars were the proceeds from the 1999 sale of a property he owned in the municipality of Surco, in Lima province.

However, in 2001, when the former president was investigated for illicit enrichment, the parliamentary commissions in charge of the investigation concluded that his bank accounts did not show savings of 400,000 dollars, nor could his income explain the accumulation of such a sum.

They also found that the loan of 150,000 dollars to Fujimori by his sister Rosa was immediately handed over to his transport and housing minister, Antonio Páucar Carbajal, and was therefore not paid to any U.S. university.

And an expert audit ordered in 2003 by Supreme Court Justice José Luis Lecaros, who opened the investigation for illicit enrichment, confirmed that the 669,500 dollars Fujimori obtained from the property sale were not used to pay tuition at the universities of Boston, Columbia or Kansas.

The experts’ report indicated Fujimori kept 214,750 dollars in cash from the sale proceeds, and 167,376 dollars were deposited by Keiko Fujimori into her private account in Citibank in New York. She withdrew the money in 2001, after she and her brothers and sister had completed their studies.

The experts found that the money supposedly intended to pay for the studies of Fujimori’s two sons Hiro and Kenji, a further 167,376 dollars, turned up instead in an account at a Bank of Brazil branch in Panama belonging to their uncle by marriage, Rosa Fujimori’s husband and the former Peruvian ambassador to Japan, Víctor Aritomi Shinto.

The experts’ report for the Supreme Court concluded that it was “duly proven” that the beneficiaries did not use the money to finance their studies abroad.

“This is a campaign to discredit me that has been going on ever since I have been in first place in the opinion polls as a presidential candidate,” Keiko Fujimori said. “Everything has been properly proven: my father had more than a million dollars to cover tuition and upkeep for my brothers and sister and me, which cost 556,000 dollars.”

The prosecution of Alberto Fujimori for illicit enrichment, in which improper financing of his children’s higher education was one of 29 charges against him, was cut short because the former president fled to Japan, taking advantage of his dual nationality, after he was removed as president by Congress in 2000 on the grounds of being “morally unfit” to govern.

As IPS reported, David Waisman Rjavinsthi, legislator (Congresita) who was born in Romania and fled with his father in 1935 with the rise of Adolf Hitler, was the ex-chair of the Second Investigative commission noted that “Montesinos (in prison for corruption and human rights abuses) has said that Fujimori asked him for money to simulate the purchase of the property, and that a group of businessmen willing to lend a hand in the operation was convened. [Montesinos Torres gained his first real notoriety when he defended 1990 Peruvian presidential candidate Fujimori against accusations of fraudulent real estate dealings. The paperwork in that case mysteriously disappeared and the charges were quietly dropped.] The Supreme Court experts confirmed that it was a phony sale,” Waisman said.

[

David Waisman (Chief of Second Investigation of Fujimori corruption)

Waisman was referring to the statement Montesinos made to the Alvarado Commission on Apr. 25, 2002. Fujimori’s powerful former security adviser said on that occasion that “the payment (of tuition) for Fujimori’s children was made with cash that I gave him (Fujimori). Later on, he (Fujimori) simulated the sale of the house, with some persons posing as buyers. It was a fictitious sale”  (See: Angel Paez, “Sins of Her Father Visit Fujimori’s Daughter, IPS at http://www.ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=47094). Waisman was especially unpopular with Alberto and Keiko Fujimori, when he came out publicly against Alberto’s disastrous economic policies (In 1998 he was elected head of the small business committee in the National Industrial Union.  Waisman is unusual as a man and a politician in Peru, for he believes in reasoned arguments and not macho displays of arrogance. In 2002, independent congressman Eittel Ramos Cuya challenged Waisman to a duel with pistols on a Lima beach (See: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/2283040.stm). Waisman rejected the challenge to settle a dispute over alleged insults. Ramos claimed

President Alexander Toledo and First Lady Elaine Karp

Waisman had insulted him after Ramos criticised First Lady Eliane Karp for saying “two-bit parties” were trying to undermine her husband. Ramos complained bitterly that the vice president “called my attitude cowardly because I said what I said about a woman.” Ramos argued that his invitation to Mr Waisman to a duel was a matter of honour for him. Waisman responded that he was a civilised and peaceful man, and his moral beliefs prevented him from trying to end another’s life. He serves in the Peru congress 2000 to 2011, representing Lima.)

José Enrique Crousillat chief of America TV sold air time to give favorable coverage of Alberto Fujimori and, like Fox News in the USA, distorted truth for self-enrichment

Considering the numerous crimes committed by her father’s Administration, and the later pardons issued to those who acted for Alberto Fujimori, Keiko shed the legendary crocodile tears when lamenting that some pardons were issued: “Fujimori también consideró que fue “un error político” el indulto “al corrupto” José Enrique Crousillat (during the scandal involving the videos that showed former head of Peru’s intelligence service Vladmiro Montesinos giving bribes for favorable media coverage, Crousillat and his station were implicated for receiving payment for favorable coverage for the campaign of former President Alberto Fujimori; see: http://globalvoicesonline.org/2010/03/18/peru-the-pardon-of-jose-enrique-crousillat/), pues no se cumplieron los requisitos que justificaban la gracia por cuestiones humanitarias. Sin embargo, cuestionó que este derecho haya sido revocado por considerarlo un “error legal”.

When questioned about her own lack of experience (never having a job, never having to suffer like the majority of the impoverished living in squalor in Peru, never having a negligible education which is what the majority of Peru obtains from a corrupt school system and its union SUTEP, Keiko Fujimori went further: ‘Sobre las críticas de algunos disidentes de su partido como Diego Uceda, quien ha dicho que ella “no está preparada para gobernar el país’, la congresista respondió que el el 99% de militantes de su agrupación apoya Fuerza 2011. ‘Si hay una persona con intereses personales tiene las puertas abiertas’, dijo” (See: http://elcomercio.pe/politica/454518/noticia-keiko-fujimori-sobre-encuentro-kouri-montesinos-fue-falta-etica-no-legal)

What the corrupt government of the Dictator Fujimori had attempted to hide from congressional and public scrutiny was the nefarious dealings he had with Vladimiro Ilyich Montesinos Torres, his chief spy, whom he paid (as was shown in documents introduced to the Supreme Court of Peru during his trial for crimes against humanity) $15 million USA dollars.  Keiko maintained a healthy and close relationship with the mass murderer Montesinos Torres (Montesinos was trained as a Cadet at the US Army School of the Americas, a center devoted to torture techniques and the overthrow of Latin American governments to sympathetic to the poor and landless, in 1965;

In September 1976, Montesinos was linked to a plan to “crush the power of the people and the workers organized into unions, political parties, progressive magazines, and also patriotic young officers and other ranks, and progressive sectors of the Church” with the full support of the cardinal-archbishop of Lima. He became a lawyer, began representing drug traffickers and policemen linked to drug trafficking, and amassed a fortune. In the early 1980’s, he signed legal documents on behalf of a Colombian client for the purchase or lease of two buildings in Lima that were later raided and found to house cocaine processing:  see: http://www.desaparecidos.org/peru/tort/montesinos/eng.html), who helped her, and her brother and sister, further their education abroad at the expense of the people of Peru–the majority who remained illiterate, especially in the mountains and the Amazon.

Vladimiro Montesinos Torres and Dictator Alberto Fujimori

While Keiko Fujimori was living in Boston, Montesinos Torres had her duties as First Lady filled by former minister and lawmaker Jaime Yoshiyama under the direction of the lawyer Estela Valdivia who Montesinos Torres ordered to write two messages on what the government would do to help her.  Yoshiyama was quick to point out that the duty was that of a pawn, and that Yoshiyama was the pawn in a power play by the powerful Fujimoris. Although a prisoner, Yoshiyama Tanaka (born 1944; he was a Minister of the Presidency [President of the Democratic Constitutional Congress] under Alberto Fujimori; On June 21, 2006 judicial proceedings were initiated against Yoshiyama and twelve other former ministers of Alberto Fujimori for their involvement in the 1992 self-coup (See: Poder Judicial del Perú, Instalan juicio por autogolpe del 5 de abril de 1992. June 21, 2006.). On December 2007, Yoshiyama was found guilty on a charge of rebellion but was only given a four-year suspended sentence as he was considered a secondary accomplice; see: Poder Judicial del Perú, Sala penal especial de Corte Suprema hace precisiones sobre caso autogolpe. This is one reason why Keiko wants the death penalty restored, noting how often her father Alberto had his opponents gunned down in cold blood–being a far worse terrorist than any member of The Shining Path and do far further damage to Peru.
