The GOP and Family Values

Clarence Thomas, now as US Supreme Court justice who speaks regularly on the sanctimony of marriage and the need to set a stellar example for the young, has been exposed not only as an adulterer but a liar. His contempt for the people of the USA crystalized when he committed perjury at his hearing, chaired by Delaware Senator Joe Biden, for the Supreme Court when he libeled Professor Anita Hill by claiming not only that she lied but that he had no extramarital affairs. This has been disproven in the interviews and forth coming book by Lillian McEwen.

Thomas is not the only GOP member to cast aspersions upon others who bring to light their adultery or knavery that includes theft, prostitution, intimidation, and other federal and state crimes.  Mark Sanford was not the first to commit adultery while governor of South Carolina–he had many before him do the same.  See: cp.

South Carolina Code of Law, Title 16, SECTION 16-15-60:  Adultery or fornication, reads:

Any man or woman who shall be guilty of the crime of adultery or fornication shall be liable to indictment and, on conviction, shall be severally punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than one year or by both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court.

Georgia Republican Newt Gingrich was a well-known adulterer and abuser of young women. He had an affair during his probe of Bill Clinton’s improper relationship with an intern, but refused to cancel his clandestine liaisons (see: Newt had three wives–and cheated on each of them. He took one of his mistresses to his cancer-stricken wife’s bed so the “other woman” could see his wife. A fervent Baptist he converted to Roman Catholicism in 2009 to win the attention of his latest wife. See: He was forgiven for his “sins” by evangelical extremists and the Roman Catholic church to be the first [sic] condemn Sharia (Islamic) law as a threat to democracy on July 29, 2010 at the American Enterprise Institute. (See my blogs and articles published in 2008, 2009, 2010.)

Louisiana GOP Senator David Vitter was caught with the infamous Washington DC “madam” but continues to campaign on “family values” (see: and proposed a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages, and legislation against adultery (see:

Iowa GOP Senator Charles Grassley openly joked about having sex with North Dakota Kent Conrad’s wife ( but no follow-up was made, and Conrad ignored the remark.

Idaho GOP Senator Larry Craig was arrested for soliciting sex from a policeman in the Minneapolis-St Paul, MN international airport (See: This came after the Idaho Statesman revealed that a gay rights activists detailed the sexual encounters with the “conservative Christian” senator (see:

Palm Beach, Florida GOP Representative Mark Foley acknowledged sending sexual notes to boys from his Congressional computer, and having sex with a male page (see: after damning Barney Frank (Democrat Massachusetts) of being gay, although Frank was open about his own homosexuality–leading Denton, Texas GOP Representative Dick Armey to refer to Frank as “Rep. Faggot” on the floor of the House of Representatives–while Armey continued to hide his own sexual irregularities (The Dallas Observer noted he had been denounced by three co-eds at North Texas University for improper and unwanted “advancements”; see:

Florida GOP Representative Robert Allen was arrested for offering to perform oral sex for $20 on a policeman (See: He worked with Senator Vitter in defining marriage as between a man and a woman and disallowed any adultery while condemning oral sex and prostitution (although he did not rule out male prostitution).

Jim Bunn Congressman of Oregon won his congressional seat with the endorsement and financing of the Christian Coalition, then immediately ditched his wife (and mother of his five children), married a staffer, and put his new wife on the state payroll for the unheard-of salary of $97,500. See:

Neil Bush (brother of George W. Bush) in a March 2003 divorce deposition, admitted repeatedly to having sex with “strange women” who “just showed up” at his room while on an Asian business trip. See:

Idaho GOP Congressman (she refused to use the title Congresswoman) Helen Chenoweth, in 1995, denied having an affair when asked about it by The Spokane Spokesman-Review. In 1998 she called (in a campaign ad) for Bill Clinton’s resignation saying “I believe that personal conduct and integrity do matter”. Days later she admitted to a six-year adulterous affair with a married associate. but now she claims a pardon from a higher authority: “I’ve asked for God’s forgiveness, and I’ve received it,” she revealed.  See:

George W. Bush, Republican president, accused in a criminal complaint and lawsuit of raping Margie Schoedinger, who later committed suicide.  (See: Accused by Tammy Phillips, a former stripper quoted in the National Enquirer in 2000 saying she had an affair with Bush that had ended in 1999. (See: Also noted by Mrs. Blount whom G.W.BUSH while campaigning for her Husband Red Blount and while G.W.BUSH was possibly A.W.O.L from the Air National Guard at age 26 he was all over their 14-year-old daughter. (See: Arthur Frederick Ide, George W. Bush: Portrait of a Compassionate Conservative. Dallas: Monument, 2000; cf. and

GOP Candidate for California governor, Meg Whitman, maintained an illegal alien for nine years while damning those who did the same thing in 2010 (See: As for sex, she claims that she is not against homosexuality but voted against Proposition 8 because it did not coexist with her conception of what marriage is (

Denver, Colorado GOP activist Randall Dale Ankeney, was arrested for sexually assaulting a 13-year old girl in Fountain, Colorado, after giving her marijuana, an incident that followed his presentation on protecting the family and fighting to reestablish strong family values. (See:

Georgia GOP Congressman Bob Barr Was married three times. Paid for his second wife’s abortion (she also suspected he was cheating on her). Failed to pay child support to the children of his first two wives and while married to his third and present wife was photographed licking whipped cream off of strippers at his inaugural party, after authoring “Defense of Marriage Act” (DOMA); see: In 1998, he spoke at the convention of white supremacists known as Council of Conservative Citizens, and blasted any form of sexual irregularities.

Maryland GOP Representative Bob Bauman went to a gay bar, hired a 16-year old male prostitute and had sex “to take a break” from authoring the GOP’s platform on protecting minors and building up strong family values. See:

Parker J. Bena, Republican activist and Bush Elector, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography (including children as young as 3 years old) on his home computer and was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and fined $18,000; in 2001. The scandal did not stop Republican Committee Chairman Jeffrey Patti who was arrested in 2005 for downloading and
distributing a video clip of a 5-year-old girl being raped. See:

While Democrats also have their two-faced hypocrites, the GOP outdoes their political opponents by trying to hide it, use it as political blackmail, and as fodder for their war on human rights and civil liberties. But none exceed the perjury of Thomas Clarence on October 22, 2010, or the sex tape (you have to be over 18 to watch it) of Sarah Palin’s “most intimate moments” (at and

“Family values” evidently do not apply to all you mentioned with their life styles and positions of power! Egos get in the way of what has been the norm in society and a residence in DC where colleagues support them with prayer is a contradiction to family values. Shame on all of them for leading a less than stellar life while touting morals for everyone else.
