Insanity of Islam

Brigitte Gabriel gave a speech at Duke University detailing the atrocities, crimes against humanity, and depravity of contemporary Islam (see: : Islam today has no kindness nor love for the welfare of mortals on this planet, but like the tyrants of ancient Arabia is determined to force all people to bow before their tribal agricultural god Allah who was created from myths of pre-Bedouin nomads. As Ms. Gabriel detailed: “Under the banner of Islam ‘la, ilaha illa Allah muhammad rasoulu Allah” (none is god except Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah) “devout Muslims” murdered Jewish children in Israel, massacred Christians in Lebanon, killed Copts in Egypt, Assyrians in Syria, Hindus in India, and expelled almost 900,000 Jews living for generations on “Muslim lands.” The absurd madness of Islam continues, with Muslims demanding that the United Nations rule against any “defamation” of their prophet or their god, while saying little about the pantheon of deities worshipped by other faiths, and blasting anyone who dares question the existence of any or all gods.

The rigid censorship of Islam, far worse than anything in Stalinist Russia or Hitler’s Third Reich has had the crassness to demand that Facebook remove Islam-critical pages (such as “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day”) .  Fundamentalist Muslims are demanding that Facebook adds a term that “legalizes disrespecting Islamic religious symbols and disable any Facebook “Page, Group, or Event that shows direct or indirect disrespect towards Islamic religious symbols.” See:

Muslims today, especially in the USA, Canada, and most of all the UK, are demanding that all governments allow the tribal laws of Sharia to be equal to existing western laws and constitutions, and registering protests when the governments of Belgium, France, Switzerland and other democratic nations ban the degrading garb of the burqa (برقع‎) from being worn in public–a full-body covering that can conceal bombs and armaments of jihadists (some of those committing suicide being men dressed in the burqa, contrary to the Qur’an [Koran] which originally and primarily reserved for the women of Afghanistan where it is known as the chadri, but it was seldom used in Afghanistan–with little appearance before the Taliban (Pashto: طالبان  [it comes from the  Arabic طالب] an extremist Sunni political movement based on religion; the word translates as “students” but has been restricted to seminarians or theological students) took control and destroyed Afghani society; it infected Pakistan in 1998 and has been growing there with the financial aid of the Saudi royal family and Muslims in the USA). While Muslims claim that the burqa is Islamic in origin, the truth is opposite that lie, for it had been worn by Persian (and some Arab) women centuries before, as we find in the writings of the Roman African Christian Tertullian (Chapter 17 of The Veiling of Virgins) in 200 CE, when he lavished praise on the modesty of those “pagan women of Arabia … who not only cover their head, but their whole face … preferring to enjoy half the light with one eye rather than prostituting their entire face (the Latin reads: Iudicabunt nos Arabiae ethnicae feminae ethnicae quae non caput, sed faciem quoque ita totam tegunt, ut oculo liberato contentae sint dimidiam frui lucem quam totam faciem prostituere)”. But Tertulliam was not unique in recognizing the garment as hiding the appearance of women, for Strabo, writing in the first century CE, in his Georgraphia (11.13.9-10) acknowledges that it was a common historic practice of Persian women. If contemporary 21st century Muslims had any honesty and knowledge of their own history and books, they would note that the hadith (collected traditions of the life of Muhammad) required that both men and women are required to dress and behave modestly in public and wear the hijab.

Dr. Wafa Sultan, a Syrian-born American psychiatrist, courageously attacked the Islamic mind-destruction on al-Jazeera television in 2006. Having left the Islamic faith (an “apostate”), she like all others who have broken the chain of Islam, are threatened with execution by “devout followers of the prophet Muhammad”. Rightfully, Wafa Sultan noted that sharia law accepts wife beatings, “honor killings” (where any member of the family or the entire family has the “right” to kill any other family member who does not marry according to the wishes of the family or who marries an apostate or “nonbeliever”), child marriages (as young as five since Muhammad married a mere child under the “legal” age of seven), public beheadings (common in Saudi Arabia), stonings and hangings, limb amputations, and forced “covering up” of women and numerous torture tactics that would impress even University of California law professor John Yoo who glorified and sanctified the atrocities at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. The author of the book  A God Who Hates: The Courageous Woman Who Inflamed the Muslim World Speaks Out Against the Evils of Islam. (Available at

Not only does Sultan disprove the spirituality of Islam and the mythology of Allah, but has gone on record noting that “secular Islam” is but a word that no one recognizes in such states as Syria and Turkey. No true Islamic government recognizes a woman to be free, nor does it allow any woman to determine her own life. Instead, Islamic psychiatry declares women who wish to make personal choices to be mentally unfit. A woman is to be constantly under the control of her husband. Islam, in short, is insanity. See:

  1. John Ahmad :Everyperson has the right to express what has come into her positive mind!,but the theme above is full of hatred and barbaric prejudice, mind you Islam is a religion of peace(revise Islamic pillars),the problem of some people do not full understand what Prophet Muhhamd come with!,it discourages seeing adult people continue to be brain washed by people who really never understand islam, but because it was revealed in ARABIAN LAND.Please remember we are human beings created by one LORD,He only wants to be worshipped as he never ask others to help creating human beings!,May you please say the TRUTH AND STOP HATRED against MUSLIMS!!!

    • It is illogical to claim that Islam is a religion of peace when al-Quaeda wages war, Osama bin Laden leads in demanding not only murder of innocent people but suicide squads to target hospitals and schools, and the theocracy of Iran has one of the highest state-sanctioned assassination squads (political executions) in history. The “Pillars of Islam” is a nice read but seldom practiced as seen in the continuing “practice” of stoning adulteresses and hanging gay men. It is not difficult to understand Muhammad–only the mythology circling this imaginary male who, according to sources, was illiterate, but was chosen to convey god’s message by repeating it to Remembrancers–and like Homer, not living to see it ever written down (until over 100 years of his death). Where Islam started is irrelevant–it just happened to be pulled out of Bedouin legends in Arabia–but as for “one Lord”–that is an invention of Egypt for the people before and after Ikhaton were polytheists, and those who became Muslims were uncertain of the tribal identification of Allah save that his orgins came from the Arabian pantheon of the Black Stone that today’s Muslims stone when visiting Mecca. I have studied Islam for more than 50 years, and I do not have a record of bending or denying the truth–but in Islam, as seen in the rigged elections in Iran, the truth is far from the mind of any imam or ayatollah. Islam has been and is to this day a religion of open hatred for human rights, is misogynistic to the core, and allows its students (Taliban) to throw acid into the faces of girls seeking an education in Pakistan and Afghanistan. I fail to find one reason to tolerate contemporary Islam for not a single person I have ever met has tolerated my belief system.

    • John, I do not hate any religion–I find all to be foolish inventions by those who prey on the gullible. To be prejudice, by definition, means “an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.” (Random House Dictionary 2010). I have studied (and written numerous books and articles on) Islam over the past 50 years, and am knowledgeable about the Five Pillars of Islam (Arabic: أركان الإسلام): Shahada (profession of faith), Salah (prayers), Sawm (fasting), Zakat (giving of alms, specifically during Ramadan) and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca, home of the Masjid al-Haram (The Sacred Mosque). In Shia Islam, the five pillars are more abstract and inward oriented, which are:

      Tawhid (monotheism)
      Qiyamah (Day of Judgment)
Nubuwwah (Prophethood [prophets of Islam, Isa (Jesus), Jewish prophets, and other prophets])
Imamah (Leadership of the Twelve Imams)
      Adl (Justice).

And I know they originated in pagan Bedouin lore–as Muhammad (the correct spelling although there are variations) remained a pagan until his second return to the desert to visit with Gabriel (allegedly an angel). There is no “one LORD”–as that expression began in Canaan and became the Jewish Elohim (plural noun for gods/goddesses) which were a part of the Bedouin and later Islamic Black Stone in Mecca’s Kaaba–a place the Prophet prayed frequently. According to the Qur’an, the Kaaba was re-built by Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ismāʿīl (Ishmael) following the plans by the “first architect”–the mythical Adam.

As a scholar I have no time for lies–by anyone or any religion. I will spend my life researching and writing about what I can prove. There is no proof for Allah any more than there is proof for any Prophet Muhammad as both were created in the minds of mortals as was Yahweh, Jesus, Peter and Paul and all the other gods and goddesses throughout history. To be real it has to be provable not just historically but also scientifically and Islam cannot meet that test. But I thank you for your comments, and will write more on Islam in dedication to you and your kind letter. — Dr. Arthur Frederick Ide

    • The Five Pillars of Islam (Arabic: أركان الإسلام) are (1) Shahada (profession of faith), (2) Salah (prayers), (3) Sawm (fasting) during the month of Ramadhan, (4) Zakat (giving of alms, specifically during Ramadan) and (5) Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca, home of the Masjid al-Haram (The Sacred Mosque)–which are common in all Middle Eastern religions and antedate Muhammad and Islam by centuries. Islam was never “revealed” to anyone, as nowhere in the Qur’an/Koran does it state that Muhammad had an epiphany–he was visited by Gabriel and ordered to remember the words of Allah. However these “pillars” have been redacted several times by various commentators:

قال المصنف -رحمه الله تعالى-: وعن أبي عبد الرحمن عبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب -رضي الله عنهما-، قال: سمعت رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يقول: بني الإسلام على خمس: شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمداً رسول الله، وإقام الصلاة، وإيتاء الزكاة، وحج البيت، وصوم رمضان رواه البخاري ومسل

On the authority of Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar bin al-Khattab, radiyallahu ‘anhuma, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, say: “Islam has been built upon five things – on testifying that there is no other god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His Messenger; on performing salah; on giving the zakah; on Hajj to the House; and on fasting during Ramadhan.” This is not new, for Exodus 20:3 also claims a monotheistic god (sort of–the actual words say “You shall not have other gods before me” meaning that the deity acknowledged there were other gods but they had to take a secondary role and the elohim/el of Moses was primary). Prayer in Islam is but a repeat of 2 Samuel 7:27. and “fasting” began with ancient Babylon and the concept stolen by ancient Jews and recorded as early as Judges 20:26. “Alms” giving is as old as time, springing from Egyptian and Ethiopic sources that gave credence to ancient Greek theology/mythology as was defined as “eleemosune” or “kindness” more than an act of charity. Pilgrimages came from ancient Akkadia, Babylon, Egypt, and Crete. and Muhammad took this concept from the Jews he spoke with in the seventh century (Mecca), reading about it in Genesis 47:9. It must be remembered that Muhammad was a camel driver who, when he married his boss, found time to converse with the Christians and Jews who operated many businesses and conducted international trade in Mecca–so Muhammad stole most of his ideas from them–the rest came from ancient Bedouin tales and Greek accounts.

    • Actually there is no “one lord” or one “god” for everyone, as people are different and thus their needs are different and no single god can meet the challenges that are spread out by the people of this planet. It is far better if people rely on their own good sense and intelligence than to cave into a mythology that is drawn from far older prejudices and religions. I do not hate Muslims–but I do have total and open contempt for Islam as it is a barbaric religion that justifies the torture of women and men who fail to meet the standards of Shari’a–a law that came out of India and was never divinely inspired. But Islam is like all the religions of this world: based on myth, grown in hatred, and spitting fire at those who disagree with it. Not until all religions and all gods and goddesses fade into the dustbin of history will mortalkind be free at last.

You want to defend Islam so much you can’t even capitalize the word “Islam” and can’t spell the name of it’s prophet?

Arthur’s blog is not about hatred. I would not be involved with a blog that is. Pointing out what people do in the name of their superstition/religion, and what harm such has brought to humanity is positive discussion meant to advance civilization. Truth can neither – almost by definition – be hateful or spiteful or one-sided. If I post that Hitler’s regime was responsible for the death of several million Jewish people, is it hateful? No, not of Hitler of or of the Jewish people. Truth is neutral.

I would think you were a Muslim, and, John, that’s okay. Because I spent most of my life growing up a few blocks from East Dearborn, MI, home to the largest population of Muslims outside the Middle East. And many Muslims make the whole bushel of apples look bad to many. My personal experience is that most Muslims here in the US are patriotic and support and defend Constitutional principles and the separation of state and church and would never kill or maim in the name of Allah, the Prophet, or Islam.

But there is a growing threat to America in the expansion of Islamic movements to make Islamic “enclaves” exclusively Muslim, with sharia laws which discriminate and separate and segregate, and of course make non-religious persons such as Arthur Ide and myself, and women, as victims.
